Have you ever been "touched by an angel"?

I have heard of this [that you shouldn't share your angel experience because it will ruin the spiritual flow], and practiced a form of this in my "buddhist" training. When we had "breakthroughs" into understanding the universe we were told to keep it secret/not express it or the power of the insight would dissipate. I I think I know what you mean. Sharing a spiritual experience, if it is self serving, will definitely dissipate. Even what we want to believe is a "spiritual" experience will re integrate with the ego. The experiences many have had do not lose their significance. Mine have remained the same over 50 years.

Interesting. That particular "buddhist training" is opposite in this instance of what "Jesus' training" is. There are 19 verses that tell us not to hide our light but let your light shine before others so that it brings glory to the Father in Heaven. One verse is Matthew 5:16
Many of the teachings of Buddha and Jesus are in agreement though.

I search for a logical explanation for all my weird experiences. In this case, it is possible that when the tire blew & I momentarily lost control I went into shock, did the right thing and imagined the rest. The only story that I find no explanation for except the weirdest coincidence in the world is my matches story. I told that many times, to online audiences of hundreds, maybe thousands of people over the years and no one can give me a reasonable answer. Overwhelmingly, no one even tries.

I went back and looked at it, and I have to admit its pretty hard to explain, any chance you or one of yours dropped the matchbook? I suppose it could just be coincidence, but that's a stretch...

I have never been touched by an angel but was a party to an incident that my mom and
dad felt like it was or could have been an angel. I was twelve years old and we lived in the
small west Texas town Denver City. Going from there to Sundown to visit my uncle, our car broke down about twelve miles outside Denver City. There were no cell phones in those days, you were more or less on your own. Dad was no mechanic and couldn’t get the car started.

I’m sure my dad prayered. In those days my parents prayed about everything. Shortly, a car came along and stopped. Got problems, he asked. Dad told him he couldn’t start the car?
The man raised the hood and spent about five minutes under the hood, then said start her up, you’re ready to go.

Dad asked the man where he was headed. The man thought a minute, then said, I don’t know,
I guess I came out here to fix your car. He got in his car, made a u-turn and went back the way he had come. Our trip on to Sundown and back was uneventful.

I hadn't walked that way in about 1-2 weeks, and didn't use matches, used lighter only. Yes, I considered that. Also, did I say the grass was wet & the matches dry?
Could you please link me to that post Rob? I'd like to see it again. Thanks.

Not physically touched, but assisted. Yes, on a few occasions. I think in my life angels appear as helpers at times when I am in distress of some kind and sort of alone and helpless.

Oh YES!
It's explained in detail in my books but I don't dare try to explain it here because I'll be mocked and belittled on the forum.
I will say, It's was the most incredible event of my life and beyond imaginings!

This is what I know, when I was in Marine boot camp ,and training, and Vietnam, I could always feel someone beside me, one night after I was wounded , and in the hospital, here in the states , I asked god why he saved me and not the rest, he said, I was to to do something important, still don't know what that is.

The first time this happened to me was when I was 13. My Mom had died 3 days before when a neighbor came over to see me. She didn't come to see my 2 bothers or father. She was a good friend of my mothers and shared a passion for gardenning. She told me that my mom had given her some kind of flowers that bloom once a year, but they had not bloomed for several years. She started crying and then said that they had bloomed that day. We had a big hug and then she left. I felt like my mom had reached down from heaven and touched me. I felt completely in her loving presence and totally at peace.
The Good Book says that sometimes when we entertain strangers, we are entertaining angels. So, I believe there are angels among us, surrounding us and protecting us. There are far more times than I can recall that they have been with me.

Years ago, at least 35, I drove to my mother, picked her up and off we went to the Cemetery to "visit" my dad and her mom. While exiting for the bridge there was a loud POP and I lost control of the car. Someone else not visible to me steered the car safely to the shoulder. Was a sudden tire blowout. It happened.

After being fixed, don't remember if roadside or towed, we didn't continue on to the Cemetery, we had a nice lunch instead. To this day I can remember seeing the steering wheel turn on its own and feeling the strength of whatever force it was doing it. I always felt it was my dad.

Should I delete this? Sounds stupid.
No, it is not stupid. I had an instance where I almost was sideswiped by a large truck, I saw what might happen so I took my hands off the wheel, put them over my eyes, and when I peeped through my fingers, the truck missed me and I didn't get hit. He swirved and "S" on the road. The skid marks were on the road. He pulled over and I exchanged words with him and he said that I drove really well and he was sorry. I didn't drive/steer, so I believe and angel or something did it for me. It had to!!!!!

Called out around 2 AM for a wreck on the interstate, We arrive to find a Tractor-trailer had run off the road and hit a cliff bank..
The driver, crumpled on the ground, crying.... his 8 year old son was riding with him. he was asleep in the back cab and went out through the windshield when the wreck happened...
We go over to the pile of cloth and broken glass about 20 yards in front of the wreck.. and start the dreaded task of digging...
Sure enough we find a young child wadded up in a sleeping bag, unresponsive... but breathing...
As we start to (flip out) respond as professionals....
The kid wakes up, crying for dad...
He had not one single scratch on him....

I have other stories too

Quite a different thing!

Oh, You don't know how these stories of Angels delights my heart!

I don't want to spend the rest of my life defending my assertions that i have communication with Holy Angels
nor will i tell of my numerous experiences with Angels; seeing them, hearing them.
But I will say, Angels are appointed by God. When you think it's God talking to you, helping you, it's an appointed Angel of God.
They choose the souls they want to look over and help. They cherish you beyond words!
Angels are ALWAYS with you! ALWAYS! Just be aware of them. Someday you will know of them.

I was told by publishers that no one has any interest in Angels anymore. They are passe', outdated.
I am so glad this thread is on here! Angels ARE REAL!

I am pleased you understand what I mean Paco. Will also mention that Christianity and the Buddhist Philosophy are very much alike in some of the teaching.

Biblical metaphors or aphorisms/proverbs can suggest various meanings, it's really when they are, as I phrase it, "Off center" that any interpretation can be accepted by the norm.

When I was 33 years old and a convinced atheist I had a couple of experiences that challenged my disbelief. To put it in the briefest terms a voice from outside (yet also inside) challenged me and called me by name. I had a choice to respond in the positive or the negative and I chose the former. I whispered "Yes, Lord" and went back to sleep. From that moment I was a changed person, no longer angry and able to forgive.

I could have easily explained my experiences away (it was actually two encounters) using pop psychology but I chose not to. I was too happy (quite ecstatic actually), and from that time until now I still feel the nearness of God when I am paying attention, which I admit is not all the time. That is why I say I occasionally get nudged by God to wake up or to get over myself because I have been given a new purpose in life and I need to get on with my mission.

As for angels, it is often said that an angel is an ordinary person who delivers a message from God. I'm pretty certain that I have encountered quite a few of these angels in my lifetime. If angels are also ordinary people who come to our aid when we need help the most then I am absolutely certain that I have been met many angels in human form.

I was actually just thinking about that today. I'm not sure I have been touched by an angel but I am starting to believe I have Guardian Angels that oversee my life. Up to now, things have always worked out well for me. Yes, my decisions have played a big part in that but there are some instances in which things have just coincided that made my life better. There is frequently timing involved, when something happens that resolves something else.

I also have lots of freaky coincidences. Today I was playing Wordscapes and as I entered the word Lucky the person on TV said the same word at the same time. Just weird. I have a close friend that says "her spirits" guide her life. She has always been calm in stressful situations so who am I to argue?
