Not that I know of.
Not that I know of.
I have heard of this [that you shouldn't share your angel experience because it will ruin the spiritual flow], and practiced a form of this in my "buddhist" training. When we had "breakthroughs" into understanding the universe we were told to keep it secret/not express it or the power of the insight would dissipate. I I think I know what you mean. Sharing a spiritual experience, if it is self serving, will definitely dissipate. Even what we want to believe is a "spiritual" experience will re integrate with the ego. The experiences many have had do not lose their significance. Mine have remained the same over 50 years.
i've had a couple of 'thumps on the head'.Touched by an angel?
No, but I have definitely been nudged by the finger of God.
Several times.
I went back and looked at it, and I have to admit its pretty hard to explain, any chance you or one of yours dropped the matchbook? I suppose it could just be coincidence, but that's a stretch...The only story that I find no explanation for except the weirdest coincidence in the world is my matches story. I told that many times, to online audiences of hundreds, maybe thousands of people over the years and no one can give me a reasonable answer. Overwhelmingly, no one even tries.
I hadn't walked that way in about 1-2 weeks, and didn't use matches, used lighter only. Yes, I considered that. Also, did I say the grass was wet & the matches dry?I went back and looked at it, and I have to admit its pretty hard to explain, any chance you or one of yours dropped the matchbook? I suppose it could just be coincidence, but that's a stretch...
Sure https://www.seniorforums.com/threads/has-unexplained-stuff-happened-to-you.65471/#post-1905323 see #11Could you please link me to that post Rob?
The Good Book says that sometimes when we entertain strangers, we are entertaining angels. So, I believe there are angels among us, surrounding us and protecting us. There are far more times than I can recall that they have been with me.The first time this happened to me was when I was 13. My Mom had died 3 days before when a neighbor came over to see me. She didn't come to see my 2 bothers or father. She was a good friend of my mothers and shared a passion for gardenning. She told me that my mom had given her some kind of flowers that bloom once a year, but they had not bloomed for several years. She started crying and then said that they had bloomed that day. We had a big hug and then she left. I felt like my mom had reached down from heaven and touched me. I felt completely in her loving presence and totally at peace.
No, it is not stupid. I had an instance where I almost was sideswiped by a large truck, I saw what might happen so I took my hands off the wheel, put them over my eyes, and when I peeped through my fingers, the truck missed me and I didn't get hit. He swirved and "S" on the road. The skid marks were on the road. He pulled over and I exchanged words with him and he said that I drove really well and he was sorry. I didn't drive/steer, so I believe and angel or something did it for me. It had to!!!!!Years ago, at least 35, I drove to my mother, picked her up and off we went to the Cemetery to "visit" my dad and her mom. While exiting for the bridge there was a loud POP and I lost control of the car. Someone else not visible to me steered the car safely to the shoulder. Was a sudden tire blowout. It happened.
After being fixed, don't remember if roadside or towed, we didn't continue on to the Cemetery, we had a nice lunch instead. To this day I can remember seeing the steering wheel turn on its own and feeling the strength of whatever force it was doing it. I always felt it was my dad.
Should I delete this? Sounds stupid.

When Jesus said “ Do not hide your light under a bushel” , he was not speaking of spiritual experiences and angel visitations. He meant : Do not conceal your talents or abilities.Interesting. That particular "buddhist training" is opposite in this instance of what "Jesus' training" is. There are 19 verses that tell us not to hide our light but let your light shine before others

I am pleased you understand what I mean Paco. Will also mention that Christianity and the Buddhist Philosophy are very much alike in some of the teaching.I have heard of this, and practiced a form of this in my "buddhist" training. When we had "breakthroughs" into understanding the universe we were told to keep it secret/not express it or the power of the insight would dissipate. I I think I know what you mean. No comment, Shero. When Jesus said "_______" Quite a different thing!

Biblical metaphors or aphorisms/proverbs can suggest various meanings, it's really when they are, as I phrase it, "Off center" that any interpretation can be accepted by the norm. When Jesus said “ Do not hide your light under a bushel” , he was not speaking of spiritual experiences and angel visitations. He meant : Do not conceal your talents or abilities.
Quite a different thing!

When I was 33 years old and a convinced atheist I had a couple of experiences that challenged my disbelief. To put it in the briefest terms a voice from outside (yet also inside) challenged me and called me by name. I had a choice to respond in the positive or the negative and I chose the former. I whispered "Yes, Lord" and went back to sleep. From that moment I was a changed person, no longer angry and able to forgive.I search for a logical explanation for all my weird experiences. In this case, it is possible that when the tire blew & I momentarily lost control I went into shock, did the right thing and imagined the rest. The only story that I find no explanation for except the weirdest coincidence in the world is my matches story. I told that many times, to online audiences of hundreds, maybe thousands of people over the years and no one can give me a reasonable answer. Overwhelmingly, no one even tries.
