I seem to be the same height but I do feel taller than most women I'm around. I'm average height but I know we all can lose some height as we get older. Men can lose an inch by the time they hit 70. Women can lose 2 inches. Anyone keeping their height and doing things to prevent bone loss? I exercise and have calcium in my diet.

I was always 5'10, until the last decade and at 80, I'm 5' 9 1/2. Most all my male friends and relatives of age have really shrunk much more. I believe its because for most of my 43 years work life, I was sitting.

I confess its a good feeling standing by guys that were once taller, and now they are shorter than me.

Not yet. I am 5'6". In my family (in Europe) I was a giant! In America not so much!
you were a giant at 5'6 in Europe ?... what country ?... In the Uk the so called average height of women is 5'4.... altho' many women are much taller... In the Netherlands, Denmark, Germany Norway and Sweden.. the average height of women is around 5.7''.... again many women are much taller than that...

In my family, the women did not reach 5', so I definitely was the "tall" one! My best friend (male) and my father were my height.

yes well that's a little different.. if it's a family thing. Same in my family they were almost all fairly short.. but of course they were born at the first quarter of the last century... and each generation since has been taller..

Your SIL may not appreciate the tiny little feet when she goes to buy shoes. Or has to have her clothes shortened. I came from a family of runts and it feels like I’m still shrinking.
Oh no. My sister in law is an ultra smart shopper. She wears a size 6 shoes and never has a problem finding what she’s looking for. She’s going out with a guy who’s a few inches taller than her and they make the cutest couple. She’s very self confident in yourself. She’s also 9 years younger than me.
