Health Benefits of Intermittant Fasting and OMAD (one meal a day)

I was stalled for a while and noticed I had navigaged away from the IF. Due to work load and the stress from work project due dates, I found i wasn't eating until dinner. But I also noticed that the weight started coming off again. Not a lot, but passed that plateau. Not the best way to dpo it (due to stress and work) but it does work.

I also noticed I have to keep the junk food out of the house. If it is there, I eat it (unless stressed from work). But at least I am not doing the "stress" eating like I used to. So I guess that is something. :)

I did IF about two years ago to lose weight when I was diagnosed with prediabetes. I would go all day without eating......or hardly anything. Turns I really didn't need to. Sleep is fasting....... sleep 8 hours and waiting 2 to 4 hours for breakfast was enough. Along with eating right and exercising, the weight fell off and I reversed the prediabetes.

I've done intermittent fasting for years. 13 hours between dinner and breakfast. I exercise a lot and my metabolism definitely goes into ketosis. I still eat three meals a day.

Like most other people when I ran low on carbs I felt miserable. After I retrained my body to burn fat easily that went away and I can skip meals without discomfort if necessary. It helps one stay lean and I can sometimes feel my body switch over in the morning while exercising.

Lots of health benefits and I eat plenty of carbs, no radical diet needed. Just make sure to eat enough protein to support my lifestyle.

I have noticed that the more I do the IF, I am not as hungry as I used to be. Right now I am on a regime of OMAD on most weekdays. Dropped another 7-8 lbs in last few weeks. For a total of 45 lbs since my highest. I haven't talked myself into exercising much, so it is all diet induced. But I feel a lot better at 245 then I did at 280. That's for sure. Another 35+ to go and I think I will be set.

In addition to IF with mice, they have extended their life with caloric restriction. My calorie intake is around 1500-1600 per day. I am 6ft tall and exercise 6 days a week. I usually average 14-15 hours fasting each day. I’ve maintained a BMI of approximately 22.5 since age 25.
I think most people would consider my regimen repressive. My ex claims I eat like a bird and am “too skinny.” Whatever. I don’t feel like I am suffering in the least. It’s all about what you get used to.
