Hi Everybody from North Carolina!

Oh, please do, Radish. Can't say that I actually know of anyone who has made that particular pie - lemon pie, sure, but not the coastal lemon pie.

Thanks knight and Shirley. That symbol is most well known to North Carolinians, especially if they are Chapel Hill fans!

LOL @ apple.:D

Hi PH, glad you joined us!

Welcome, PurpleHaze.

You had me all excited when I first saw your username - I was going to change mine to "Grape Skunk".

(Let's see how many people get THAT one) :devilish:

Hello Radish!

That's a recipe that hails from the coast of North Carolina; more specifically, Atlantic Beach (I think Atlantic Beach if memory serves me). It's quite the beloved pie on the coast but a lot of restaurants throughout NC have it now. Not really sure if it is just an NC recipe or not. It could be a mix from different places. I can tell you that it is particularly good and is better than just the average lemon pie.

My grandson & a buddy made that North Carolina lemon pie last night. It is DELICIOUS! The crust was crushed, sweetened saltine crackers instead of graham crackers. Yum.

Hi Again Everybody!

Been a tad out of sorts. Had major surgery on Monday and got back home yesterday afternoon. Still weak and tired (never any rest in a hospital as we all know), nauseated from anesthesia but moving around as much as I can handle so that I can get back into the swim of things.

Glad the pie turned out good, Radish!

Welcome to the Forum. I have spent time in Charlotte, (NASCAR Country) and Rocky Mount. Have you ever heard of Tarboro and the Tarboro River? I have fished there a few times and caught a few nice catfish. Have you ever been to Hobgood or Scotland Neck?

Hello oldman! Well familiar with Charlotte as I grew up in that area - about 20 miles from there. Tarboro area is where my mother grew up and my maternal grandparents lived all of their lives. I have cousins in Rocky Mount so I know the area around there quite well.

A belated welcome, Purple from West Scotland! :) I've been visiting Michigan and elsewhere and just returned home so busy catching up.

Thanks so much Ameriscot, jujube and venus!

Yes, jujube, we are quite lucky in that we can boast of having three mountain chains AND the coast. No matter the direction one takes in North Cakalaki the scenery is all good.
