How do you answer the question "what do you do all day"?

Each day I have a list to get done...most days something pops up and keeps me from completing the list so its just added to the next days list...lol.

How do you answer the question: "What do you do all day?"
Last Thursday we went out to a big band night. How we love the Big Band era.

On Friday we joined friends to celebrate a birthday, at 63, he's just a sprog!

Saturday night was something of a posh frock affair, I can scrub up when it's necessary!

Yesterday we took the classic MG on an MG outing. Our car was about the oldest one there. Truth be told, so where we.

So what do I do all day? Ask me this evening when I get home from work.

I retired at 50 so I use to get this on a regular basis. If the person asking was some stranger in a group setting like say a party and I felt like they were trying to throw shade, I would smile, shrug and say "Whatever the f___k I want to". If I felt that it was a serious inquiry I would explain that I don't get in a hurry about anything. I get up at 7 and spend two hours drinking my coffee and enjoying the morning. Then weightlifting, rucking or cycling depending on weather. Then lunch followed by chores, sailing, kayaking or fishing.

Grateful thanks to Hollydolly for suggestions to ease me into retirement. We are off to an afternoon tea dance shortly, and, we will be going to a 50's style rock 'n' roll afternoon gig tomorrow, where we will probably meet a lot of like minded geriatrics, sitting around, wondering: "what the hell happened?"

I have found another dance on Saturday, and, Holly you will love this. come October we shall be stepping back in time: Great Gatsby Dinner Dance. Think I might start to enjoy this retirement malarkey after all.

I'm delighted for you HC... (y) I only wish we had things like that to do around here

Yesterday's tea dance was lovely, well attended too. We are off to another dance later, dance? Well given that it's a 1950's themed event, we will probably sit it out. There again, as they say: "You're never too old to Rock 'N' Roll:

It depends on who you ask. My granddaughter says I spend the day telling her she is PERFECT. My grandsons say I spend too much time every day worrying about them and the family. My daughter says I make my husband do too much for me and my husband says I do too much for him.

For some reason the question bothers me, it always seems to be asked in a condensending tone. It seems to be the first question asked when someone learns I'm retired or that I retired early. I usually say "I keep myself busy" or "anything I like", both true statements. Part of it is I'm a short story type of guy and have no desire to detail my hour by hour, day by day activities or projects I'm involved in so I kind of deflect the question.

Just wondering how others answer the question.
That question also bothers me and always seems to be said condescendingly. I like your answers. I usually say my duties.
