How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

Yes I hate to admit it but it really did a number on me today, even tho' it was a lovely warm day, I just started to feel my energy going after an hour or 2, and I noticed I was walking slower.. it didn't help that I had new sketchers on.. new from last year but so far unworn.. and the right foot wouldn't stay laced up. I tied it and walked a few feet and it came undone.. I must have tied it 6 or 7 time before finally I just left it.. but that made the riight shoe loose.. so that didn't help with my walking, which is annoying because I'm a keen and rapid walker normally....you'd think for £70 a pair they'd manage to ensure the laces stay tied...

Anyway I got home at about 4.30pm and just fell asleep for an hour.. that's not like me at all ..so clearly I'm not quite well yet..

However I do have a busy week ahead still ..tomorrow I have my salon apointment in the AM ..... and Thursday I have to take my car to have an oil change which means leaving it at the garage and getting a bus home... but again I have to walk about a mile for the bus stop...
I just found out that you can buy replacement laces that have the sincher(?). No tying, just tightening the sincher(?). I don't know what that little fob with a push button is called.

Tomorrow ❤️grandson❤️ day. Haven't seen him in person in two weeks. It'll end earlier as son will come home early.
Found a picture of son today from when he was same age as his son now and both have two front teeth missing! They look so alike! Same haircut too. Sigh. Tempus fugit.

Goofiness with another prescription. This time one is running out, but had 3 refills left. However somehow the prescription also "expired" in January even though it had just been renewed in December. So, go online and request a new prescription. Grr.

While there I see that a prescription for Mounjaro has been put through. Sort of dreading all that and reading the warnings and possible side effects and watching the videos doesn't help. I'll see what the bill is when I go get it. Depending in insurance participation it could range from $50 to $1500 every 4 weeks. Ouch.
You are on Medicare? You are diabetic?

I have dealt with several of the weight/diabetic options in my close circle. Most had no side effects. 3 had minor ones such as needing an anti acid after spicy food.
It seems like some doctors blame everything on those meds.

My Fitbit has been shutting down almost every time I try to use tap-to-pay. The online support boards had a lot of people with the same problem and no solution. Today was my third chat with the online support people, none of the stuff they had me do has helped. But, the aggravation was worth it because they said they will email me a 50%-off code to buy a new one. Yay!

While taking cardboard boxes to the recycle bin in the underground parking of my building, I discovered a weird car! I have no idea what it is or where the license plate is from (definitely NOT from Maryland), I took a picture:

That is a beautiful Vintage Bentley... with British plates on from the Era, possibly private plates ...from the mid 1950's

After making my prayers and eating breakfast, I did some financial stuff.
I balanced my checkbooks and took stock of (pardon the pun) my first quarter portfolio tallies (dividends, number of shares for each fund/ETF and their values). I did about half of the tallying for the quarterly spreadsheets, then took a nap and didn’t wake up until 11:00.

That tiredness from yesterday hung around a bit. I almost talked myself out of going to the supermarket because I prefer to have shopped and be home between 11 and 11:30, but I was out of almond milk and yogurt, plus due to the forecast for the rest of the week (colder, rainy and very windy), I figured I’d better go today. So I changed into my street clothes and headed out.

On the way to the supermarket, I took out the recyclables and dropped the HOA check in our community mailbox so management can pick it up this afternoon when they are on site. I got home around 12:45. After putting my stuff away, I made a PBnJ sandwich, watched TV while I ate, then finished working on the spreadsheets. I’m going to relax and watch more TV before my son goes to bed and hopefully be able to catch up with some posts here after he goes to sleep.

Good Morning, Everyone 🤗 :coffee: 🌻

The thing my husband is now just starting to get over seems to be gaining on me. My system has been throwing it off for days, but last night and today, not so much. 🤒 Husband and I are sharing a bag of lozenges.

I've been really caught up in Animal Crossing, again, lately and that's been fun.

Had therapy yesterday, which went very well.

Hope everyone is feeling good.
I'm sorry you are feeling worse Medusa. Hope you both get well very soon.

@Pepper Glad you are feeling better and appreciating life. Also that you'll get to see you grandson.

@hawkdon I'm glad you did so well today. Please stay safe in the wake of these storms. The forecasts look downright scary!

@HoneyNut That car is sharp. It is a peculiar license plate, especially not showing a state. Intriguing. 🤔

I'm going to write a book. It will be called "The Definitive Guide to Seat-of-the-Pants Gardening, the By-Guess-and-By-Golly Method for a Colorful and Lush Backyard Garden."

If I were a drinker, it could be called "Ten Nights on a Barroom Floor, Confessions of a Professional Drinker." But I don't drink, so that's out.

The reason for the book is that nobody wants to mentor me so that I can become an Influencer on TikTok.

ETA: I'm gonna get a lot of help with the book from Google.
More ETA: Google, by Jove! That's it! Google is my mentor!

One of the felines woke me in the wee hours but that allowed me to start my day sooner than expected. :) I have finished a load of laundry and am waiting on another to dry. Trying to decide if this evening's meal will be crockpot, slow cooker or air fried. I need to make a decision soon so I can set out whatever meat I need to thaw. Someone make up my mind for me!
:ROFLMAO:
I feel ya Who_ One half the time I do not know what I want to eat. I also sometimes feel I need help with making a decision. :D I hate to cook so that sometimes further complicates things. But I do keep quick fix food in the house, which is a good thing because often, by the time I make up my mind, I'm quite hungry.

Well crud heree we go again, stormy long day...morning all folks.. woke at 3am with breath probs, then at 330 was called
by the emergency folks about severe t'storm warning, it is showing green on radar very close, so guess that will be the
start of my day, which is gonna be very long.......:censored::coffee:

@hawkdon I just saw that weather news on tv. Be careful, and if you don't have anywhere to take cover, then yank your mattress off the bed and hide under it!

It's gonna be very warm again today. Too early for the pollen count, but I'm guessing in the 6000-7000 range. When it gets to 1500 it's considered extremely high so anything higher than that must be in a new category called "ridiculous."

There are still weeds out there that probably think I'm gonna get tired of bothering with them. I am tired of bothering with them, but they're not going to escape.

I soooo want to visit the garden centers. I know they miss me.

Thinking about my book. Learned in English composition that every story needs a beginning, a middle and an end. How does "It was a dark and stormy night" sound to start with?

Or, "the landscape was yellow with the signs of spring".

@hearlady "the landscape was yellow with the signs of spring" is perfect! You'll be listed in the acknowledgements, okay?

Wait. I forgot. I'm not writing a novel! But I'll find a spot to work that in anyway.

My book is going to be all scientific and technical and stuff. Maybe it'll be best to start off like I do with recipes. I need recipes that start with "face the stove." The book should probably start with "face the garden."
