How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

Morning everyone....11deg here today, may get into 40's or not
chance of sNoW later today too, and also tomorrow....I had an
enoyable eve yesterday, to make up for my little disasters, saw
3 deer on my exterior cam, walking from cemetery, they all
gathered around a big tree at end of driveway, and started feeding on the IVY that is still growing on it, they stood for
15 mins or more feeding off the tree, and that was so cool!!!:)(y)
Small pleasures make for a good day!

It's icy here with white roofs. 34°. So, it seems a little wintry but it will be melting. The sun is out and the trees look pretty with ice.
I went with DH yesterday to pick up a trail cam he had placed where he hunted this year. I saw where he shot his 8 pt.buck. It was cold! It was nice to be out in the woods!
I'm finishing my quilt today and working on a green crocheted hat, per request, for DGD.
Thinking about California and the fires. Tragic.

Leaving in a couple of hours to spend day & all night at son. He, DIL, going out to party tonight & I will party with my grandson!❤️

Taking AccessARide there, but son driving me home tomorrow. Putting away Xmas stuff, they use my storage bin for that.

although it does create condensation on the windows. Oh, well.

Not sure where you live, but when I was in Southern Texas we had condensation on inside of windows also. I bought an inexpensive dehumidifier for wintertime when our gas heat was running, and it worked fabulous for our 1700 sf house (6 rooms). The BONUS was, is that the dehumidifier also puts out heat as IT works taking the water out of the air. Ran the gas heater less. It also made the house feel warmer with less humidity in the air, less bone chill effect.

I thought about a dehumidifier. The humidity reading in here now is 39%, inside temp 65, outside temp 24, assuming these are correct numbers. I get condensation when using only the electric heat, just not as bad. It's the crappy windows, which are on the list of things to do some day.

Well I made a call to a guy who will haul away the dirty rug....
50bucks, but thats cheaper than having it cleaned...oh and I
discovered a new method of cooking eggs...I call it "volcano eggs"!!!! Thats when it just runs all over the pan and stove, whereever it wants too.....!!!

Old single or double which are not sealed anymore. This is not a good time of the year to replace them though.

Hawkdon - please consider the kitchen an off limits zone for a day or two.

Whoa, I have got to find some ambition somewhere! Been a slug all morning.

Our A/C-heater unit finally decided to give up the ghost (of course during some of our coldest weather ::eye roll::) We've ordered a new one but it can't be put in til at least Wednesday, so for now we're in survival mode. (We have heat sources that will hold us til then)

Got my nursing license renewal in with the state, so hopefully by mid-week I'll be good to go for another two years. What with storm damage to roof + now the A/C-heat unit going out, I told my boss, "Whatever hours you want to give me, I'll take!" (Unless it's being on call...I'm just too old to be jerked out of sleep by a jangling phone)

Y'all have a nice day!

Total snow just under 4 inches in the last day and a half. Got up and out and cleared it before the
"Dog Doo Brigade" could rush out to trample it down leaving "presents" behind. So much easier to shovel when you beat them at their game.

Warmed up to 33F and full sun so I spent some time out there. Still need to head out again soon since the road plows have filled in the apron, but not too badly since I over-shoveled out into the road.

Double but not manufactured. It's a 2x6 frame, a sheet of glass pressed up against both sides and a 1/4" piece of trim on the edges. POS. I did recaulk most of the outside last fall but it's just not enough. Condensation on the inside, too, lol. Before the windows get replaced, however, I have to finish the corrugated steel wainscoated siding, where the board and bat wood siding has rotten at the bottom due to snow buildup. Priorities.

I feel your pain. Hopefully it is not the whole system or you can at least salvage duct work.

You got your work cut out. Let's hope for a short winter so you can get to it.

Yes, indeed. Have about 1/3 of the siding finished. It's taking a while due to the water damage found inside the walls. One wall was completely torn out and replaced, sill board, studs, everything. What a mess that was.

At least you don't have to rake leaves. 😋

Day 5 of what I thought would just be a minor short head cold. After 4 days of just intense sinus snot, that ended suddenly with a 101.3F fever that lasted just a few hours. Then the start of post nasal drip now trying to cause a cough I am intent on avoiding. So increasingly looking more serious?

Never headaches so unlikely influenza. My 76 year old immune system is apparently still working well to reach this phase of whatever. Although on day 2, my dated home COVID-19 test was negative, there are supposedly frequent negatives. So just ordered for free from the CDC, 4 new kits.

Recent information shows highly variable corona virus symptoms. Also last Monday after skiing, was in Nevada lodging that receives much gambling casino visitors, always a source of more disease. I did have recent vaccination for what that is worth and was one of last to catch COVID-19 in November 2022 that lasted 4 weeks.

Today Sunday, will need to go masked-up to a supermarket for orange juice, soup, salads, and Kleenex tissue boxes.

@StarSong. I haven’t seen you around in over a week so am assuming you got a nasty cold or flu. I’m thinking of you. My husband has a nasty flu also. Unfortunately he can’t sleep.
Do you think you have a Covid variety?
Perhaps we ALL wear down at Christmas. We volunteered to empty an entire house full of stuff. It was my dear beloved father in law. Unfortunately there was a huge surprise to deal with. I’m not going to say what it was but it had the entire family running around in circles.
I hope you feel better soon @StarSong. You do so much for everyone else. Take care of yourself hon.

Our power stayed on. Yay for that. A subdivision less than 1/4 mile down the road lost power Friday night. It's very, very cold here (19F), but the sun's out and we'll have high temps in the low 40s today. With just a bit of wind, it'll take care of the rest of the mess on the roads. Maybe we'll even get out of the house today before cabin fever takes over.

Sixty-six days until spring.

Families often react like bees in a beehive that have been poked when unexpected occurs. Am also hoping @StarSong is OK?

You may want to stop at a doc in the box. Here what you describe is being referred to as The Crudd and can last for weeks if not taken seriously. Sending well wishes and good vibes.

This family really pulled together and all helped . The sister did most of it. She also opened up her house to her father to stay for free. I didn’t know about any of the legalities and neither did she but she looked it up and asked all the appropriate people. By the end of 2 weeks, which was how long we were there, she’d wrapped it all all. I was beyond impressed.
