How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

We have gotten a bit of rain here in Arizona!!! I have absolutely no idea how much…but do know it rained off and on several times last night. This is a big big deal. I have no idea what I am doing today. I am by myself for a couple days….so have some choices. Should pack up and drive south to work on project house…cutting and placing tile baseboards. Man….things have gotten ridiculously expensive to buy …need to use up stuff.
Are you building at elevation (cooler)

I finally got to have my will and accompanying documents notarized. So much initialing! My upstairs neighbors were my witnesses. I wanted to treat them to brunch afterward, but the husband had an appointment. The notary, who was very nice and witty, is located in a funeral home. When I got there, the first face I saw was the mortician who was my son's first high school girlfriend. We gave hugs and I congratulated her on getting her mortician's license. She had worked in the funeral business for years.

I told her I spoke with her son recently. He's my son's Honorary Son. My son trained him in the art of deejaying. His mother is the one who got my son into House music. He and my son wound up DJ'ing monthly House music parties together at a local club until COVID hit. Damn, I miss those dance parties! Now the young man gigs often in NYC clubs.

I had several phone conversations today. At one point, I wasn't able to finish listening to a song because calls kept coming in. My HS#3 and I went to Amazon Fresh tonight. I got the Fiesta salad again and that was dinner. Afterward, we stopped at a dollar store I'd never been to. I just wanted to look around, so didn't buy anything.

This Monday morning feeling yuk after the 2 afternoons of outdoor street live music. Got plenty of freestyle street dancing in both days and can now state at the one month point after surgery, that I am now well healed with all that in the past. Great to no longer constantly be dealing with an old man's hernia truss at my belt line. But ran out of energy about 6pm so didn't have the staying power to last the full day.

At least unlike during my working years can endure this yukky feeling day quietly resting at home. 9:11am now and will mic a can of Progresso, Chicken Vegetable Rice soup. So will have 5 quiet weekdays at home to gain weekend strength again. After a top of engine power steam clean tomorrow, might bring my old Forester in to the Subaru dealer for an expensive high level tune-up. My new HP desktop is due by Friday.

Every weekend into the next month has street fairs with music. Next weekend June 7,8 is 77 miles north I've never visited in the past with a particularly rowdy 2-day listing of rock groups both cover bands and original music types.
Glad you healed well David. But even for a music lover like me, I don't envy you having to endure the two days with rowdy bands and their followers.

Our house sale preparation continues today. We have so far had the roof cleaned, the drive resurfaced and the house redecorated.
To present our home to prospective buyers it needs to have the wow factor that sets it apart from others.

Today the carpets will be professionally dry cleaned. This room is our guest room.

In the first photo you are at the door looking in. The second is taken from those
patio windows that you see in the first shot. The door with the handle, facing you
is the entrance to the en-suite bathroom. The double door next to it is the built in
wardrobe. The furniture removal was not easy, and we have a lot more yet!

Moving is so stressful, ... do you plan to move far from where you are ?..

It's raining today.. which I quite like so it gives the lawns a good drink...

Yesterday was such a full on day... and last night, I forgot to take the Ibuprofen to keep the pain in my arm at bay during the night.. and it woke me several times YIKE.. so painful..😩 so this morning it hurts like Billy-O

Nothing at all planned for today... except to contct my lawyer just to put a line under the last few years...

Friday is my busy day for people coming round here..this week.... so I'll just do nothing today, and enjoy it...

Hope you all have a lovely Tuesday...

Good morning, it is sunny and maybe a rain shower this afternoon. Already a potential tropical storm off the Northern Florida coast in the Atlantic. I do hate watching the National Hurricane Center for them but must keep informed.

I have some chores this morning and maybe can have a more relaxed afternoon.

Have a pleasant day to everyone. :)

Morning all folks, trying to keep shakiness down so I can
type this morning, radar shows completely covered with
rain here, but none outside yet, temp is 75F but only going
up one degree they say.....had a restless nite to sleep, aches,
and those imaginary noises in my tinnitus filled brain....didnt
get much done yesterday and have more of that today!!!! lol
cATCH YOU later, behave yourselves, or not.....;):p:love::devilish:

Good morning all, my early walk at 6:50 temp was 60 as I walked around the building complex once before breakfast, forecast today sunny near 80
This morning taking Gates van to be dropped off at dentist at 10:30,plan to walk home will be my long one of the day takes me about 1/2hr
I have no other plans, read NYT, wait for call from Geek Squad guy to tell me what time tomorrow he'll be delivering my new TV

Even though this Freeway has 14 lanes between Corona, through the Santa Ana Canyon, to Santa Ana Hills, during peak
hour traffic, it's more stop than go. BTW, "Freeway" is a misnomer because the inner four lanes are for pay. You have to buy
a responder and pre-pay money that is then deducted while driving through the electronic barrier. But a car with three or more
persons can use the "for pay" lanes for free.
I avoid driving long distances in rush hour traffic, and never use California pay freeway lanes.

Hazy smoke high in the sky but "mostly sunny" today. Only 70F by 10:00 AM but humidity outside is already oppressive. Should hit the very high 80s today as well.

I'll be getting things done as best I can outside, but mowing might be minimal today. Got some soldering done and finished the cable repair I was working on. As anyone with experience knows, you need about 4 hands with at least one of them heat-resistant. :ROFLMAO:

Three sets of solar panels out there charging batteries now. I'll probably just mow around those since the back yard needs mowing more than the front right now.

Almost everything moved back into the car except he passenger-side "yoga towel" seat cover. It had a spot where a pizza had leaked a few years ago so I washed it and hung it to dry. The main reason I have them is that they are a light buckskin color and the car's all-black interior was never my favorite. So in at least one case they have saved the upholstery! I started putting down a plastic bag after that pizza leaked. I'm not eating pizza now so I suppose the problem doesn't exist any more.

I finally set my houseplants outside for the summer (unless we get a cold snap). That was a half-hour job. Had to re-pot one plant because the pot had split, likely from root binding. It will be much happier in a larger container.

Also went through kitchen cabinets and pulled out all the Pyrex and Corningware I haven't used since moving. Mayhaps I can sell some on Marketplace.

Later this morning will bring my old 2007 Forester with 280k miles down to a rare vehicle high pressure steam cleaning service that will clean just the top of my engine for $140 making it more presentable to work on. Then tomorrow will bring it down to a dealer for an expensive major tune-up and hopefully get past the hated smog test with its too marginal thresholds that I need for Vehicle Registration.

Did the realtor/property agency tell you to do this?

Personally I would just have everything small off the floors and piled on the heavy furniture. Get only those areas cleaned. The visual areas will be clean and if you want, have the whole place cleaned when you move out. Quite often new owners move in and change flooring, paint, etc.

So mad today. Seems like you just can't get quality parts these days. Finished rebuilding my transmission. No problem there. (y):) Then, I decide to change oil pans as long as I had the trans out. Fine... got a new, cool aluminum pan. Now, I turn to Fel-Pro, a trusted name for gaskets that I had used for years. Go to assemble and crap... these gaskets ( turns out are now made in China) don't come close to fitting. (just look at the gap... no way to pull that distance down.
Finally found an American made gasket.

Hopefully not. The stairs have become a challenge, so has the size of the house. A bungalow beckons, that means sorting through a great deal in order to decide what to keep. I do not relish it one bit.
No they say moving house is as stressful as divorce or death...I've just literally been through a divorce and settlement 24hrs ago, and now I'm looking to move...I must be crazy ... lol... anyway I hope all goes well for you...

Done! The iris bed in front is done, thank all that is holy. Maybe tomorrow I'll start thinning the one in back.

I'm bushed and resting in front of Newton Minnow's vast wasteland.

@hawkdon and @hollydolly Do you notice more aches and pains when the weather is wet and the barometer is falling?
yes I do... last night for example.. I forgot to take the Ibupfrofen before bed for my poorly painful arm, and woke up in a lot of pain, thinking that was just the reason, but actually it was raining heavily during the night as well. I took some to relieve the pain this morning.. but there was torrential rain all afternoon and so my arm ached like mad... not to mention of course the OA in my right hand fingers..

I hope you have a calm and restful day after the milestone you endured yesterday. I wish you the best new horizons going forward.

The usual idiocy, hopefully it's not going to get painfully stupid. I peruse storage unit auctions, saw a close one for $20 bid.

It does have some things that I am interested in, but what with lungs and stamina, I'll be hard pressed to clean it out.

Anyway, changed out headlamps from Amazon, $69 + tax. Local U-pull-it wanted $36 for used ones. Have to fo some slight adjust to level them.

That's all for me.

Happy Tuesday, June 3rd!

I went for an endoscopy yesterday. Bad news is the doctor found a small papilloma that needs to be removed (no idea why he didn't do it as long as he was there, but I was still foggy from the anesthesia so didn't think to ask him). Worse news: he saw nothing to explain my periodic chest pain, so it looks like the search for a cause will shift to my heart. 😟 The pain is by no means excruciating, but like any chest pain at our age, it's unnerving.

I expect to hear from my PCP today about the path forward.

Out of town company coming tomorrow so today I'll spruce up the house and figure out food that works for vegans, keto eaters and omnivores. I'm leaning toward guac, salsa and chips, BBQing various kinds of burgers, and 2-3 different salads. Maybe fruity popsicles for dessert.
