Good morning to everyone.

Some really nice photos on here. Thank you to all for sharing them.

The Atlantic storms are getting stronger and the one nearest the Eastern coast might make landfall. It is unsure right now but I hope if it does come ashore everyone will be ready.

Have a great day, everyone. :)

@Rae Those storms look like they'll bring rain to everybody except us. We're too far inland, dammit.

The rain promised by the weatherturds yesterday didn't happen, and today's not looking good, either. Wednesday night's rain was nice, but not near enough.

Yesterday's adventure to see DS and his husband took out every bit of starch that was left in me so today is going to be a day of rest even though I went to bed last night at 7:30 and didn't get up until 6:30.

Oh...a day of rest except for repotting a mum that DD brought me and watering the garden.

@hawkdon Did you get to turn your heat on again last night? I'm sooo jealous!

Today was a great day! Beautiful outside. First day in the low 80's. Dallas Arboretum has a pumpkin exhibit every year, but this year they added "Mundo Mexico" with beautiful sculptures. Hubby and I spent lots of time there just enjoying the scenery!

you know what I always think when I see photos of you two.. SD.... that you should be Male models...such a good looking couple... 🧡

Well it's been a bit of a morning already...

It started first with the physiotherapy clinic calling to say that the physio I was to see is sick, and cancelling my appt for today... the very first one,, which I've been looking forward to very much...:( counting the days off actually.,,,,,I mean literally at the 11th hour, and worse they told a fib.
On the message they left they said, ''Nicola'' has been sick all week... and I wondered, why they waited until 2 hours before my appointment was due at mid-day to tell me, if they knew there was a likelihood she wouldn't be in today

then when I called them she said there was nothing they could do because she called in sick just today....hmmm...

Second thing.. was that I had a piece of furniture delivered... there was no ETA from the company or delivery company at all... and they left it right on my doorstep..literally right on my doorstep...!...so with my right arm and hand almost unusable.. I had to struggle to try and get this big box into the house.. where it is now left in the foyer.... *sigh*

So that was a very boring start to my Friday... and it's overcast as well...

Hope you all have a better start to your day !🌸🌸🌸

@hollydolly, that is not right for that delivery to put the furniture right in front of your doorstep. Amazon has recently left my packages outside my enclosed porch so they might be stolen. I have complained many times as I left the instructions to put it inside and left the door unlocked.

Sorry to hear of your appointment being cancelled at the last minute.

I am hope things go right for you the rest of the day. 🤗

Good morning all, on my early walk at 6:45, temp was 65 as I walked across the street to buy local paper for Connie &myself
This morning at 10 our weekly exercise class for 45 min. At 11,residents can partake in 'Walk to End Alzheimer's Disease', a yearly event here at Gates. Last yr it was held in Aug, I did partake walked twice around the building, just like last yr today is a sunny day. The rest of my day read NYT, my book may go for afternoon stroll
Enjoy your day everybody

This wasn't even Amazon, Rae.. if it had been I would have at least had notice that it was going to be delivered today.. and I got no notice at all...

The physiotherapy appt was very annoying because of the pain in my arm..I was counting the days off to when I could see the physiotherapist...

It's not even like this in an NHS physio.. I would have expected it from the NHS... but this is actually a private Practice paid for by my Insurance company...

Looks like my do-nothing day has already gone by the wayside. DD and I are Walmarting to use up the balance on my Kaiser card. It doesn't carry over and expires on Wednesday, but DD has work coming in Sunday that will keep her busy through Wednesday. For sure I don't wanna be Walmarting on a Saturday. So...

When we get back, that mum still needs to be repotted and the garden watered.

When that's done, my do-nothing day will get started. I think.

Such a compliment, thank you very much. Do you want a quick glimpse of the work in progress? What my lady has had quite a difficult time with, is a style of collar known as a: "Spearpoint." Here's my dress shirt with the spearpoint collar:

See how each side of the collar lays flat, perfectly.

Now then, I promised you a sneaky peek at a work in progress, here you go:

There's muchto do yet and it's taken her many, many hours thus far.
Oh my goodness, I love that blue and gray outfit, especially the shoes! Well, especially the entire outfit! I have always loved interesting and colorful shoes.

The work in progress is wonderfully complicated. Does your wife like French seams? I adore them for no reason at all. Those spearpoint collars would be a challenge.

I got into sewing because they wouldn't let girls take woodshop in high school. I was terrible at it, but my mother was a marvel. Her mother had been a seamstress and taught her. When my daughter was born, I started sewing and became a rabid perfectionist! I loved it!

I wanted my daughter to wear beautifiul clothes that were European and very expensive. So I bought one of each, took them apart, and made patterns. Just one pattern for each wardrobe basic lasted through her young childhood because I figured out how to increase the sizes. I was totally shocked when my daughter turned 11 and an alien from another world. Everywhere she went, teachers and others always exclaimed at how she was the best-dressed girl. She had shoes to match every outfit. Those, I had to buy in Europe (via the internet). The American shoes were too boring or outrageously expensive.

Then she turned 11 and was fond of neutral colors. :-( Her first dress bought for a dance was taupe, ivory, and bronze. For a Christmas dance! Life is to be lived in color! My stepmother and I took her to what felt like a million boring stores to find a dress she liked. My stepmother loved all that shopping. I sat on the floor outside the dressing rooms and read a book and practiced being enthusiastic about a neutral dress.

Thank you so much, my wife's sewing skills started when she was just eight years old, her aunt taught her. You mentioned colour, look at these trousers that she made.
I was after a pair of men's very wide, baggy trousers, known as Oxford bags, they were popular in the 1920's originating in the mid-1920's at Oxford University before spreading to wider fashion.

More shirts 001.JPG

Those trousers were well received at the 1920's inspired event that I wore them to.
But I have had a one or two spiteful comments about age and appearance.
For some, when you reach a certain age, clothes and appearance become irrelevent. Ignoring
them is the best way, or a back handed insult like: "What, and look like you? No thanks."

Morning Granny, well no not till this morning did I bump the
heat on, it gets cool in this house this time of year...take care...

I can't see your face but I'm sure it looks happy!
Dogs give you happiness. I like to share it with pix, but do I get on your nerves with too many? I am so proud of my new puppy Rex.

This morning overcast and 63 degrees.
So, just a walk in the garden; and going hiking a little bit later on,
after Rex has dried up from his bath in the pond and recovered from running uphill.
It's difficult taking pictures while they are playing. A video would be better.

Friday morning 10am PDT, a pleasant sunny morning with low 60F temps that will rise into the low 80Fs. Received the Amazon package late yesterday instead of next Sunday, probably because after they emailed me about my former credit card being invalid, I immediately updated to my new card. Bought a $23 Full mattress cover that will starve any bedbugs on my mattress. So vacuumed the room thoroughly without using any chemical treatments, slipped on the cover, and moved piles of items back into that room.

Other item received is the $17 hardcover 300 page 2021 best seller, Being You, A new Science of Consciousness by Anil Seth that will be reading the rest of the day, into the weekend. I, like Seth consider consciousness an electromagnet phenomenon that in recent years has moved to the front of theories versus the former for decades circuit and process oriented brain ideas.

Weekend, has another outdoor street fair at a venue just a mile from the marine cool Pacific coast. Sunny, minor sea breeze, 67F high so perfect for street dancing. Most cities holding such events provide a mix of genres at multiple street stages. Plenty of street stage rock to keep me busy plus an all afternoon club outdoor patio lineup with a list of bar bands. Will be crawling with local region musicians and plenty of rowdy dancers. Will drive there early morning to get good parking and then read the above book in the car till music starts.

LOL... you look like you 've just seen a bear out the corner of your eye....:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
I haven't told you guys I saw 2 mtn lions in the 2023 archery season, one of them I walked up on in dark! It was about 15 yds away, and we growled at each other several times, before it ran off. Later that day I had a lost juvenile mtn lion walk under my tree, too. Mtn lions are common and often sneak into town during the winter to kill dogs, cats, chickens, and goats.

Today I saw 6 elk. 2 cows, 3 spikes, and the 3x4 that I've posted pictures off above. It was breezy so sub-optimum conditions. I would have shot any of those 6 today, if I had a preferred shot, which is quartering away. One cow gave me quartering into, which is a tough, but not impossible shot.

4 days to go!
