How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

I was trapped into an achievement today! An oncology practice called me to make an appointment. Apparently my doctor believed me when I said I'd get these appointments made and he made sure they would call me. A year ago, I canceled 4 appointments in a row with them.

I had to promise to get the records sent, to show up to the appointment, IOW to be a Good Cooperative Patient. I had to write down everything they said and read it back to them. This sounds like something my fun-loving GP put them up to.

The appointment is Oct 23. I have to have some wiggle room. The lady sounded like they were going to haul me in there in a few days. I want to get four easier doctor's appointments taken care of first. The lady sounded like a sweet former Marine Corp drill sergeant. With women like that, it is much, much easier to agree with everything and then do it! (Usually I agree with everything and then cancel it.)

Today I saw 6 elk. 2 cows, 3 spikes, and the 3x4 that I've posted pictures off above. It was breezy so sub-optimum conditions. I would have shot any of those 6 today, if I had a preferred shot, which is quartering away. One cow gave me quartering into, which is a tough, but not impossible shot.

4 days to go!
Do you think you will kill something this season? I'm waiting to hear all about it, in detail! There is not much time left, especially if you keep taking days off. Killing is part of hunting.

Ohhhhhh snap, did I just take a beat down?!? ;) For the record the season is 32 days, I hope to hunt 22 of those days(if necessary.) To date I've seen +- 130 elk, 9 deer, and no lions and walked 60 miles and helped my buddy pack his elk out on one of my days off.

I'm pretty sure I'll get a shot in the next 4 days. And I'm sure being the end of the season I won't be alone so a lot will have to go right. My daughter and her boyfriend will be around this weekend so I'm hoping to get his help packing it out as a family building exercise.

I'm glad you're excited to hear as I can't imagine many being into the details, but for all I will NOT post a pic of a dead animal in this thread should I be so fortunate.

Thank you so much, my wife's sewing skills started when she was just eight years old, her aunt taught her. You mentioned colour, look at these trousers that she made.
I was after a pair of men's very wide, baggy trousers, known as Oxford bags, they were popular in the 1920's originating in the mid-1920's at Oxford University before spreading to wider fashion.

Those trousers were well received at the 1920's inspired event that I wore them to.
But I have had a one or two spiteful comments about age and appearance.
For some, when you reach a certain age, clothes and appearance become irrelevent. Ignoring
them is the best way, or a back handed insult like: "What, and look like you? No thanks."
Spiteful comments? What I do when someone is bothering me is glare and say, "Get away from me now, or I will dropkick you into next week!"
It's worked all my adult life. I must be pretty scary, huh?

You look marvelous in that outfit!

More or less. I was trying to rile you up, for fun. I've seen many dead animals in IRL, no need to post pictures anyway. My brother is an avid hunter, so I've heard the stories. They are interesting. He showed me the safe room in his house. He must not be planning to need it because there are dozens of antlers on the floor in there. The room, all 6 sides, is made of concrete. Didn't want you to picture this as a posh room full of dirty antlers.
