Thank you all for your best wishes for my speedy recovery. My head weighs 1,000 lbs. today. My ears hurt, my throat hurts and I will stop whining now! :ROFLMAO:
Whining is good! When my son was a little boy, whenever he'd get sick he would lie on the couch and every ten minutes, like clock work, he would say, "I don't weel good." I think it helped. Feel free to say that, Pepper.

My early walk this morning at 7am temp was 20 as I went a block to buy local paper for myself & friend Connie. Last night at dinner, I mention to her I briefly met my new neighbor, Marilyn,she moved in 3 wks ago we're having dinner tonight at 5:30 with her daughter- in-law{ already made the reservations}
Connie told me' Marilyn likes to talk alot' good to know, see how it goes
My other plans for the day start compling papers for my taxes this yr,read today's paper&NYT
I may take a mid morning or afternoon walk since its going to be a partly sunny day temps in mid 20's

Good cold morning, kids. This is supposed to be the last morning with temps lower than 20. We might get as "warm" as 50 today. And the sun is shining. Yay.

Reckon by now @hollydolly is in surgery? Fingers crossed🤞that all goes well.

I just finished making sausage/egg/cheese biscuits for the posse, but nobody's up to eat them yet so they're staying warm in the oven.

No plan for today. I'll have to think on it for a little bit.

55 days until spring.

Dropped pounds of paper off at Social Security. That metric cube of a rent a cop caught a nose drip and then wanted to rummage through my purse! Wanted!
Bailed two pairs of earrings before the jeweler sent them to the pawn shop. He did a very good job of spinning yarn with SO but I am underimpressed with his work. Better luck next time?
Back to touching up doors and floor boards and have whats. At least the shower curtain is perfect!

Today I agreed to go to work again, they asked me to be in by nine o'clock. At three am my bladder threatened me with wet bed sheets if I didn't respond immediately to it's demands. In the bathroom I heard the howling wind outside, the rain lashing down against the window, and thought: "I must be mad!"

However, being retired is all well and good but there's only so much daytime TV or the internet that one can tolerate, the stimulus of work is like no other. Thankfully I drifted back off to sleep quite quickly. The alarm was set for eight o'clock but my body clock woke me at half six. At seven o'clock I gave up and got up. Into the bathroom, shower, shave and dressed, breakfast beckons, coffee and croissants plus some fresh fruit.

Having half an hour to spare I checked into Senior Forums, a ping on my phone was a text from work making sure that I hadn't forgot. There was four more texts to reply to, then I was off to work. This morning I had been asked to call on a new account, spend a few hours with them, each of us familiarising ourselves with the other's "modus operandi."

The general manager of the new account couldn't get over me, my age that is, he wasn't rude, he just thought that old people retired, watched television, caught buses everywhere and moaned a lot.

On my phone I keep a message from my niece, she's a doctor and she praised me when I told her that what I do is like a paid hobby. A link she gave me to The National Institute of Health gave me this quote:
The 'use it or lose it' hypothesis similarly suggests that a person can maintain cognitive function by engaging in stimulating activities, whereas failing to keep mentally active can detrimentally affect cognitive function and could accelerate decline or even the onset of dementia.

"Does that mean retirement is off limits?" He joked. "Use it or lose it," I said with a smile.

It was about two pm by the time I got back to the office and then headed home. The lady finally got her cottage pie and now she's in the process of finishing a pair of trousers, as if my wardrobe wasn't already bulging!

My neighbor, Marilyn called me this afternoon, 15 min before the cut off time{2pm} for making dinner reservations. She said she wasn't feeling well, strange because I saw her 45 min earlier as she headed to get her mail. I told her we would try another time, I called to cancel the reservation, then quickly came downstairs to put in my dinner order to pick up at 5:30
