My neighbor, Marilyn called me this afternoon, 15 min before the cut off time{2pm} for making dinner reservations. She said she wasn't feeling well, strange because I saw her 45 min earlier as she headed to get her mail. I told her we would try another time, I called to cancel the reservation, then quickly came downstairs to put in my dinner order to pick up at 5:30
Something may have come up and she does not yet know you well enough.

Had more biscuits for breakfast; they are wonderful when split open, laid flat with butter on top then broiled under the broiler for 3-4 minutes.
I finished re- caulking the one kitchen counter/wall joint (houses settle a bit) and put new caulking on the surround of the main bath; went and picked up paint to repaint the outside of the door that leads from garage into the house, will do a first coat on that tomorrow.

Put the nice landscape privacy screen on FB Marketplace; ordered large rugs for three rooms, bought a new drop front desk but that won't arrive for four weeks. Need to list 1901 roll top desk with consignment shop tomorrow. Had dinner out - my favorite green corn tamales and a margarita, chips and salsa. Made DH a grilled cheese sandwich and clam chowder when I got home at 5. Weather under 60 all day and breezy. New bird feeders came, seed came, mixed seed and set out new feeders. Now I have four bird feeders plus two hummy feeders.

OMG...those biscuits look SO good!

I'm still experiencing A-fib symptoms which slow me down a bit, so I mostly chilled today; napped, watched TV and played games on my phone.

I managed to stop postponing doing tasks, so today I called Costco to make sure the annual membership is set to NOT renew, and I made the final payment toward my April trip to Italy (2 days before deadline).

Then I looked up an old email about how to use the new problem reporting app to report an issue to the building management, learned how to login, set up my profile (even uploaded my picture) and allowed access to all neighbors -- then spent some time scrolling through other people, slightly alarmed to see one listed as deceased, but hopefully wasn't someone I knew (I didn't recognize the email address, there wasn't a profile pic). Finally submitted my issue. But maybe I'll look at the app again tomorrow because there was a classifieds type bulletin board, so I want to see what people have posted to sell.

It's been so cold lately I haven't been meeting my daily steps goal, but today it finally rose above freezing (barely), so I forced myself to go for a proper long walk (didn't go to the Friday hike because my car is still encased in snowy crusty ice pack).

I even stopped at the new ATM machine at the community admin building and figured out how to use it (had to insert my card differently, figured that out after several fails, felt like an idiot).

If I keep up this productive streak, maybe I'll finally respond to holiday emails I received last month.

Made shrimp gumbo over fresh hot jasmine rice plus two slices of garlic bread on the side. DH was so happy. I don't eat gumbo but did have a few steamed shrimp with 4 broiled buttered open face biscuits.

Painted the garage into house access door. Am trying to figure out how to stop that door from slamming so hard. Fire code requires the door between the house and garage to auto close, but this closes so hard it rattles the whole wall! and that can't be good for the door jam.

I moved several boxes DH had packed up into storage. DH didn't TELL me the boxes were full of BOOKS!!

The weather is great today! We have sunshine and blue skies! I thought we were going to have a rainy weekend. Anyway, We are out this afternoon and, if it stays like this, tomorrow too although, I am hoping we can get the windows cleaned while this weather is dry.

Hope you all have a good weekend and best wishes to those who are poorly at the moment. :)

Morning all folks....it is 21F here this a.m., so not too bad, may get into low 40's and melt some more snow....slept fairly well,
tho that damn rash is still causing fits...ah well....have no idea
what I am doing today yet, so just wing it for awhile....take care

Google "slow closure arm" but check with code enforcement if what you select is acceptable.

SO is on a play date. He will be payed out, aired out and happy when he comes home.
These ribs are starting to impact life. Four hours of sleep is not enough.
Some painting in the bathroom dealing with the cabinets and moving back in. Next time the remodl bug bites me I will have a glass of wine and close the door.
The usual idiot rally through the house. Then some tea and a book.
It is cold but not as brutal as the last couple of days.

Sorry your ribs are still a problem. Have you tried BBQ Sauce?
Just kidding, of course. Hope you get healed very quickly! 💕

I didn't get up until almost 9 after a wakeful night.

Seems to me that if the nurses were doing their jobs, the surgeons might be able to do theirs in a timely manner. So you're home now until they tell you when to rinse and repeat?

I've been coming unglued at a rapid pace.

yep ..and I really..really don't want to go through all that again...

I've just been searching for prices for a private operation... and I found one group of hospitals where the cost isn't beyond my means.. however.. it's still so large that it would take the best part of my savings.. and I just can't do it.. as somone whose retired now, i have no income and no way to replace any savings.....but I'm really tempted, the experience yesterday, was just scarring...

Well obviously either my neighbours think I am able to eat enough food for 2 people, or they think I need feeding.... guess which one is the real one..?..no I'm not 20 stone.. good grief if I eat all those cakes tho' I might need a diet lol...

.look what my neighbours have just brought me.

They are having a party, they're Romanian and they have visitors from overseas as well..

There was a ring at the door and I opened it to see the husband with some foil covered plates.. he said his wife had told him about my surgery etc.. so they wanted me not to have to cook.. look at his for an exceptional food offering.. and I've already tasted some of it.. absolutely delicious..❤️
There's sausages, chicken, steak , Rice balls, dough balls , some things I don't know what they are.. but all of it is hot and freshly cooked

I just had some of the lemon chicken and some really meaty honey coated sausages, ...absolutely divine..I've put the rest including the cakes in the fridge.. and I'll freeze it all later..

It's 2:30pm. I haven't dressed today. Not going to bother now. I probably look like one of those cartoon pix of Maxine wearing a robe and slippers and with uncombed hair but still being gazed at adoringly by her faithful dog, Floyd.

@hollydolly Freeze some of that delicious-looking food so that I can have some when I get there😋
