It is soooooooooooo cold today! AND it's raining! pouring down! AND it's windy too!!

I wanted to get some things from the supermarket so, made a quick dash earlier when the rain stopped, I hadn't realised how cold it was out and, of course, the rain started as soon as I headed back.

The good news is that with hardly anyone shopping, the fish counter reduced their prices so, the freezer is now full of my favourite fresh salmon and trout. :)

I saw a commercial now touting the product as "easy as pie." What? Where did that saying come from. How easy is pie? From where I sit it's only easy if it comes from a grocery store.

And that made me think of another silly saying. Happy as a clam? How happy is a clam and how would we know that a clam is happy? Do clams smile?

Okay. I admit it. There's too much time on my hands👐. (GG exits stage left to wash dishes.)

Good Saturday the 26th of January to all!

It's raining here - the first real rain since April. Los Angeles is breathing a sigh of relief, and our fire fighters are surely cautiously overjoyed. Cautiously because it's supposed to rain most of today, and heavy rain could be mudslides to burn areas. Hoping for a Goldilocks "just right" amount.

Finally booted up the laptop I bought late November on Cyber Monday. Seems to be fine, but I'll have to learn Windows 11. I'll soon be looking for cheap or free Excel and Word compatible software. Recommendations are welcome for software you're actually using. (Please don't send me an internet search results list - I can do that myself.)

@Georgiagranny, having made my fair share of pies, I agree. Nothing easy about making a pie. Easy as a peanut butter and jelly sandwich might be more apropos.

I have given up gardening except for the odd container or two. While trying to look forward to something I thought I might try a simple herb garden. Maybe put pots in a wagon so I can move them to sunny locations. But wagons are too expensive even on Craigslist.

How about indoors? There is a nice sunny window facing south. I found a group of five Italian herb seeds and put them in my online shopping cart to consider. Five seems manageable and they happen to be my favorites.

Well, my cell phone is so sensitive that I am always dialing people by mistake and it decided to place my order. My seeds are due to arrive today.

We have torrential rain ...really heavy, with yellow warnings up until Midnight tomorrow night...

I looked to see when my amazon delivery was coming.. a Heated throw... it said it had been handed to resident... it hadn't, no-one had even rung the doorbell.. so I go down and they'd left it on the doorstep..and the box is drenched right through

Some will do well indoors. What kind will you actually use?

Well, put a Kleenex in the pocket like a proper old lady! 😁
I tend to keep my Kleenex in my bra. My beloved grandma kept everything in her bra...tissues, money, bus cards, etc.

She also used rose perfume and powder, so everything smelled like roses. We'd be sitting in church and start sniffling and she'd pull a nice, warm rose-scented tissue out of her bra (in a ladylike manner, of course) and hand it to us. To this day, the smell of anything rose-ish is very comforting. It means that my grandma is still hanging around, looking out for me.

Why is it that I can check EVERY pocket in every piece of clothing and STILL there's a tissue in there somewhere?
Murphy's Law?

With my grandmother it was Emeraude. I still love Emeraude.

I've just been parcelling up my ebay sold items... the ink ran out on my printer ...so I had to change the whole lot of cartirdges and one kept telling me it was in the wrong place.. I kept changing it over... still it kept telling me it was in the wrong place, so I coudn't print the adresses of my buyers .. didn't matter where I put it, it was wrong.. so I just took it out completely... now I have no red, but the printer is working without it...

Tomorrow i'll take those thing to the PO.. and buy some flowers in thank for the food my neighbour sent yesterday.. and give her her plates back...😍
