Picture? of what you wore today, horseless.

Don't leave us wondering.
Last Sunday my wife treated me to lunch out at a favourite pub/restaurant. We met the manager and his wife of my workplace. I am officially retired, but it's become semi-retired in that I like to keep my hand in by helping out. The manager knew that I was covering one of his deputy managers this week. So taken was he with my appearance, he hinted that he would love to see it at work.

Much of my clothes are hand made by my wife, now the lady is a rather talented, resourceful soul. Go into a fabric store and you will probably find what is referred to as, fabric squares. These are off cuts, tidied up and sold off cheaply. The popular multi-coloured bedspread is often made from such squares.

What my lady does is use the squares of the same pattern, sew them together and make accessories like neck ties.
To answer your question, what was I wearing?

Apart from the blazer, most of what you see came straight off the lady's sewing machine.
Not exactly the attire you would expect of a manager. We even had visitors who wore silly grins when seeing me.

Thank God they;re home! 🙏

In other news, I have ordered a grocery delivery to be here soon.
Cleaned out the fridge.

Today was a tough one. In fact the last month has been a tough one. Big sigh of relief today though. This morning my 85 year old Mum went into hospital to have a breast cancer lump removed. A big one. She's ok! I spoke to her via Facetime a few hours ago and they've told her that they got it all out and no signs of it anywhere else! To be honest my main concern at her age was the general anaesthetic! She's staying in to be monitored for a few days but she seemed her usual self. A rock.

I had to remove some items from the back of the storage closet and rearrange some things to make room for bulk items I received yesterday. In doing so, I pulled out an old file cabinet and began looking through some folders and papers. I came across things I’d forgotten I had. Some of them are slated for the shredder, but that will be for another day.

I also reorganized and labeled various sized “zip” and Ziplock bags (within Ziplock bags), as well as plastic container tops. I put them in a Swiffer box that I’m glad I saved last week. It is wax coated and easy to wipe down. The Splenda box they were in had seen better days.

After using the bathroom a couple of times today, all of a sudden (it seemed), the toilet wasn’t flushing properly, so I had to open the tank and fiddle with the flap. I thought I fixed it but I didn’t. Thank goodness I held off on calling the plumber. My son got home early, checked it out, looked up the part online and went to Home Depot. He was able to easily replace the part, which he said was just worn due to age. It was only $7.44, a lot cheaper than paying a plumber!

I got tired fairly quickly early in the day. I relaxed for several hours and took a very brief nap, but I still feel a bit tired. I need to clean up the kitchen and empty the litter box. Those things may wind up getting done in the middle of the night after I wake up.

@-Oy- I'm glad your mother's surgery went well and they got it all. I understand how concerned you must've been, especially not being able to be right there with her.

Lovely spring morning. Frost overnight, but it's thawing nicely now and looks like a good day for being outside. I'll hopefully get the garden fence painted and a lot more tidying up done. I have to sort out a problem with the lawn mower. It seems to be a common fault - blocked jet in the carburettor - and there are dozens of videos on Youtube explaining how to fix it.

Pork and lentil casserole for dinner this evening.

What a strong lady! Best to her and you Oy!

Morning Folkies...another glorious Sunny day...🌞🌞 another day I can't go out...

I've discovered altho' I'm feeling quite a bit better than just a few days ago... not 100 %.. but otherwise significantly better.. I'm only losing my breath a few times a day and the cough has reduced a lot...

However if I talk.. then I lose my breath instantly.... for example..I start to sing, ( I sing a lot during the day normally)... it's like someone punctured the balloon...my air gets cut off......so clearly I've got a way to go yet in my recovery

Anyway.. sunny day... a month from now is my birthday..I have to be well for that because my daughter has planned a surprise trip...:D

Good Morning, Everyone 🤗 🌻 :coffee:

I woke a bit late this morning and am slow getting started. But my coffee is delicious and husband is off work again. :)

It is a beautiful day today and I'm thinking I might take a scooter ride with husband.

I took a day off my calorie counting yesterday and made the banana nut pancakes I've been craving. I'm thinking of switching to the Paleo or Mediterranean diet - need to research.

Listening to the new Hunger Games book, "Sunrise on the Reaping," and really enjoying it.

Hoping everyone woke feeling well this day.

Quit making a mess. Coffee goes into cup then you drink it. Cut out the middleman unless you like it with a straw off your desk:>)

It is blowing us to Kansas or as Rae says "the stripes off a zebra". Fires are still burning. Not a drop of rain in sight.

If I like it or not today is idiot rally time. Grocery store, returns, maybe an other shirt for SO (There are such nice new patterns out!). I need a white blouse with a small collar. This is a needle in the haystack search.

I'm home and still solvent even after spending waaaay too much at the garden center Yay me.

After three hours out and about, I'm exhausted. There are things that need to be done in the garden, but I'm too tired. Or as we say in the South "tard." It's supposed to be cold and windy tomorrow so nothing will get done then. Maybe a nap will rejuvenate me enough to get stuff done yet today.

You talked me into it. A nap it is🛌.

Daughter just told me it's going to be a glorious day tomorrow and 70 deg....
I'm going to have to sit out in the garden for a while to get my sunshine rather than go out... which is a shame because I do love to go out somewhere in the sun.. and worse still the forecast after that is for rain all weekend

Daughter says she's never heard me sound so poorly as I do today.. but actually even tho' I'm still not well, I'm a lot better than I was a week ago..

Today I slept again for 2 hours mid-afternoon..

it's racing towards 5.45pm now.. and it has been a lovely day, warm in the garden, but I didn't sit out in it.. hopefully I will tomorrow...(y)

@hollydolly , I've been so busy that I wasn't aware you had come down with a dangerous lower respiratory tract infection. So looked back on this thread to a week ago. Scary. Glad to read you are now on the way to recover. I just added to previous posts on ways beyond usual doctor advice and treatment, dealing with these respiratory diseases that are a leading cause of senior mortality.

Lots of people have bad colds. In my reality.

Happy Wednesday to all. March 19th? Good grief, Charlie Brown, where does the time go?

Got all the kinks out of the spreadsheet setup yesterday, meaning today should be relatively smooth sailing. Hoping to wrap up the input this afternoon so I can do analysis and projections tomorrow and Friday.

Lovely weather today, mid 70s, so the house is open and welcoming in the sunshine and fresh air!

I have moles near left breast. Now women are advised to check breasts for lumps at least once a month, I never did. (I hate having moles!) One day one mole near my left breast itched, groan. When I reached to scratch it, my wrist brushed against my breast, and I felt a lump! Blew my mind. Had successful surgery well aware that my hated mole's itching had probably saved my life. I was 78. :)
