DD's laundry is done.

Did I mention that there was only one tornado yesterday? It was about 20 miles south of us. Nobody hurt but a lot of property damage. In another spot about 15 miles south a tree blew over and cut a house in half.

Done in the garden...maybe not for the day, but at least for now. My hands/fingers are sore. It's going to be upper 70s today so don't want to give up too soon.

I wish DD would let me use her car. I need a garden center fix, and she's too sick to participate in such an adventure. There might be plants that need a home🏡, and mine is available. I wouldn't even charge rent because I'm nice like that.

Here's a list of what's still "needed" in the garden:

polka dot plants
2 x flats of 24 pentas (total of 48)
4 x flats of 24 sunpatiens (total of 96--yes, 96)
4-6 tall garden phlox
clematis
4-6 fan flowers
coral bells
3-4 spiderwort
3 geraniums

And more snapdragons, of course. Also "need" more zinnia and cosmos seeds for scattering after the first round starts blooming so that there will be a field of zinnias and cosmos all summer.

The polka dot plants and coral bells are for planting in pots under a big magnolia where they get morning sun and shade the rest of the day. The phlox will also go in a big pot because when they're in the ground they tend to get powdery mildew.

You can see why it's "necessary" for me to get to the garden centers.

So officially our storms Sunday produced two tornados in my area, only one in close proximity to me though. Most or none touched down but those two seem to have come quite close to it. Very heavy gusty straight-line winds as well and rain but not very many hail reports.

Some roofs torn off, mostly flat ones like a strip mall and further away a school roof. A number of parked vehicles flipped over - as usual some minivans but mostly SUV/crossover types. The sort of thing with high ground clearance and a high side profile.

One airport officially measured 96 mph winds.

More storms coming Wednesday (tomorrow).

Just stepped at the back door to stretch my back and witnessed the “battle of the bluebirds“ – – two bright blue males fighting over a female. I never realized that bluebirds could be so ferocious… lots of fluttering, mid-air aggression, tumbling over each other.

I need to pick up ingredients to make muffins or something… we’ve got 2 new families moved into the neighborhood. I like to say “welcome”

I had no idea. We have bluejays and cardinals doing that all the time though.

first time I've ever been to a pub garden where there was no-one there already...there was people inside, then a young builder type guy came into the garden and started chatting about the weather... and had brunch there

It's been another glroious day.. I first went to one town about 20 miles north.. then onto another 5 miles further on.. then another 5 miles west

The market was on in the first town, and I bought a Blue patterned Cheesecloth Blouse with 3/4 sleeves.....in the 3rd town I had to return some jogging pants that I bough a while back...and while there I bought yet another 2 blouses.. go me !! (y)

I want to go back out to the garden and pull some weeds, but the pollen is so bad that there are clouds of it wafting past again. Today's count is "only" in the 6,000+ range. That's considered in the "extreme" range. The weeds don't care about the pollen count; they grow no matter what, dammit.

Looks so pretty there @hollydolly. Hope you enjoyed yourself, but now you need to rest lest you relapse before you're even cured.

Yes I hate to admit it but it really did a number on me today, even tho' it was a lovely warm day, I just started to feel my energy going after an hour or 2, and I noticed I was walking slower.. it didn't help that I had new sketchers on.. new from last year but so far unworn.. and the right foot wouldn't stay laced up. I tied it and walked a few feet and it came undone.. I must have tied it 6 or 7 time before finally I just left it.. but that made the right shoe loose.. so that didn't help with my walking, which is annoying because I'm a keen and rapid walker normally....you'd think for £70 a pair they'd manage to ensure the laces stay tied...

Anyway I got home at about 4.30pm and just fell asleep for an hour.. that's not like me at all ..so clearly I'm not quite well yet..

However I do have a busy week ahead still ..tomorrow I have my salon apointment in the AM ..... and Thursday I have to take my car to have an oil change which means leaving it at the garage and getting a bus home... but again I have to walk about a mile for the bus stop...

One of the felines woke me in the wee hours but that allowed me to start my day sooner than expected. :) I have finished a load of laundry and am waiting on another to dry. Trying to decide if this evening's meal will be crockpot, slow cooker or air fried. I need to make a decision soon so I can set out whatever meat I need to thaw. Someone make up my mind for me!
:ROFLMAO:
depends what you're having...(y)

It's going to be a long day.
Foolishly, I agreed to wait in and receive a parcel for a neighbour, then two other neighbours hearing the converstion caught me unawares by asking to take parcels in for them also.
I don't have any plans to go anywhere, but have to be close to the front door (front room) to hear the bell. Nightmare scenario is being on the loo when a courier arrives. 😊
I hate taking stuff in for the neighbours, because it ties you to the house .. either for the courier or for the neighbours to collect....

I do it, but under duress.. If I can get away with not doing it.. I do...

Okay, then. I pulled weeds for an hour. That's enough for today. There are plenty left for tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow. It's a losing battle but keeps me off the streets and out of the garden centers😡, which is really where I'd rather be.

Goofiness with another prescription. This time one is running out, but had 3 refills left. However somehow the prescription also "expired" in January even though it had just been renewed in December. So, go online and request a new prescription. Grr.

While there I see that a prescription for Mounjaro has been put through. Sort of dreading all that and reading the warnings and possible side effects and watching the videos doesn't help. I'll see what the bill is when I go get it. Depending in insurance participation it could range from $50 to $1500 every 4 weeks. Ouch.

Weird. Doctor's office called and (I think) asked me if I was requesting a new prescription for the expired one in one pill size or another one.

Right now I get 10mg tablets and take half of one once a day. If there is a 5mg tablet now, why not just go ahead and prescribe twice as many in that size?

Chinese doctor, Indian office tech = confusion?

I said "I just need the same amount per day as I have been taking." At least she must pass it on to the Doc before anything happens.

This were never this screwy before the organization was taken over by the University of Michigan Health conglomerate a few months back.

On my early walk at 7am was a bit nippy temp was 34 as I walked twice a around the building before breakfast. I'm use to walking when the weather is cold, did so for 27 yrs when I walked to work 3days/wk
Its been a beautiful, sunny day but still cool temps I took advantage of the sunshine on my long afternoon walk. I strolled over to local independent book store 'Talking Leaves'{am a member} bought 2 books. I hadn't been there since Dec. It took me about 35 min round trip when I got back, crashed onto my sofa

Work has taken up more time than I had expected of late. A new contract is producing a large number of extra consignments, the contract manager seems overwhelmed, he's been transferred elsewhere and I am holding the reigns whilst a new manager is recruited. It's quite like old times. The head honcho looked in today, he has a new manager in line and could I make sure that he settles in okay. Can do, much as I love the buzz I remember the promise to my wife to ease off, and I will.

This evening, after we had eaten, the lady went off to her cabin. Later, taking her a hot drink, I espied the new trousers that she is making for me. They are going to be fabulous. Tempted though I was to photograph them thus far, I will wait until they are finished.
