I've been busy with work related chores these past several days. No rest for the wicked, as they say.

Sorting out the myriad new tariffs' effects on our suppliers, our business and our customers' businesses are herculean tasks. We have little confidence about which tariffs will come to fruition and which will be waived, delayed, reduced, increased, or abandoned altogether in a few months. What a mess.

Beautiful weather here - high of 81° today. So I've got that going for me.

Straightened up the house a bit, threw in a load of wash, ordered a couple of jean skirts (good grief- hard to find modest ones), and had a fun discussion on another forum, that IC stumbled across last night. We're only in the low 60s today, I think I'll have another cup of coffee.
Walmart, LandsEnd, Coldwater Creek, Vermont Countrystore all the way to Nordstrom. Amazon! Belle Poque, Tronjori, Allegra may work for you.

It was yesterday: grabbed a friend for a ride. He's not an outdoors person, so he was thrilled to see a couple rooster pheasants, (but not the hen), a couple groups of quail, a mature bald eagle fly up from a cottontail rabbit it was munching on, some northern harriers, CA geese, mallards, and a great blue heron. Unfortunately the group of sandhill cranes has dispersed north to their breeding grounds. My buddies photo.

At home we did see and hear several great horned owls before sunrise, a couple sandhills flying over, a couple hawks flying high and a cow elk tending the garden.

And it's today: workout at the gym, new headlights for the 12 yo truck, post office, grocery shopping (10% wisdom discount -12:30-2:30pm), DMV for star license, and dinner out w friends.

Listen up! Pay attention! It's sNOw.

Actually, @hollydolly, it's not unusual for sNOw to happen in April in many northern parts of the country. I remember sNOw on Mother's Day, second Sunday in May. In 1954 Mother's Day was on May 9. One of my brothers was born that day, and my dad had to put the plow on his Jeep to take my mother to the hospital in a blizzard. And...in the summer of 1948 or 1949 our 4th of July fireworks were cancelled because it was sNOwing.

And @hollydolly that monkey grass stuff? It's a job I absolutely loathe. It's hard, hard work. Gimme any other job in the garden! When I first put it in, I had no idea how much and how fast it spreads and how deep the roots grow (about a foot down). Damned stuff is worse than pulling weeds.
Oh, Monkey Grass is liriope....now I see. Yes, it is pain to move. I think I have moved all I'm going to. A few are too close to azalea roots so it stays. I have a couple more in random places that need to go. Someday.

I have just spent a while cleaning more bird poop off my car.... it's awkward to get to because of the tree..I can't park anywhere else.. so twisting causes pain in my back. When I finished I came in scrubbed up, and started to make Bacon and egg pie from scratch.. it wasn't until I was rolling the pastry I realised just how painful my back had become.. so it was a struggle to get the pie made...

I put it in the oven.. and then went out to put the wheelie bins out and as I opened the gate my 6 foot sumthin' neighbour was behind it, with more food.... he said take this , you need to eat it while it's hot... and I thought Oh No...my bacon and egg pie... that I just struggled in pain to make

Now I am not ungrateful don't think I am for one minute but I wish they would let me know when they might bringing food around.. either it's after I've eaten late at night or.. occasionally like now at 6.30pm its when I'm already cooking something...

this plate is Giant.. you can't tell.. but it's very big, and the wrap is full of Fries .. shredded chicken, cucumber and some spicy sauce or other.. and the fingers are cheesy type pastries...

IMG-7461.jpg

I couldn't resist a little try of them.. and it is delicious tbh... but I can't eat it because I am so looking forward to my bacon and Egg pie...

the icing on the cake was that the neighbour took my bins out for me.. 2 recycling wheelie bins.. I didn't even ask him:love:

Yes, Walmart actually had some decent stuff. Thanks for mentioning the others. :)

aww, are you able to refrigerate the offerings and warm them up later? That's what I do when given something after I've cooked. :)

Not this one it's chicken covered in some type of cucumber white sauce.. with fries.. I can't reheat that unfortunately..

I made my pie, and had some of that for dinner.. and I've put the neighbours offerings into the fridge because it really does taste nice, so I'll eat some of it cold tomorrow... but i had to have the pie, I haven't had it for more than a year, and I was so looking forward to it..

so now I have half the pie and the other dinner both in the fridge... for tomorrow

I've done so much today, I could very easily go to bed now at only 7.45pm, I'm verrry tired...... if it wasn't for the fact I know I'd wake up again around 1am...

@hollydolly said, "No-one needs to tell YOU to act your age do they?" (page 175)

HD, my leitmotif or motto is, "use it or lose it." At 89 I don't want to lose it, at least not yet. So, I am cleaning up the jungle ay home.

Left: From a dog's point of view, you are in the most vulnerable position when doing your business. I supposed that's the reason
why my pups always insist on following me to the bathroom ..... to protect me in my most vulnerable position, LOL.
Right: My 9 year old, 95 pound heavy boxer Ross has his "Gingival Hyperplasia" mouth surgery tomorrow. I pray for a successful
outcome, and that he will continue to be my loyal body guard for a few more years to come. OK, he does not permit just anyone
to come close to me, and specially he scares hobos away from me.

Well, at least we know that @hollydolly is in no danger of starving, but I wish she'd share because DD just said she's not cooking tonight. I wouldn't mind the bacon and egg pie or any of the neighbor's offering.

BTW @hollydolly, the sNOw I mentioned? My hometown is so far north just a few miles south of the south shore of Lake Superior, that we call it South Canada. We jokingly say it's only a mile from the end of the earth.

Used to be that we'd get at least 300" of sNOw between about mid-October until mid-April, and many days of -40F temps. Now a normal season is maybe 100-150" of sNOw and not likely any days of temps colder than -10-15F. So, yes, we've heard of climate change:)

If we wait long enough, people will go up there to spend their winters where the weather is tropical.

What I did this morning after moving monkey grass: accompanied DD to the garden centers. I spent 💸, then came home and planted stuff.

Now I'm resting...

I understand that, anyone near Canada... snow, snow, snow... lol... but how long is it since you lived there ?

We moved to Kentucky in 2008. The brother I'm close to still lives up there and gives me updates weekly.

It sNOwed yesterday and is going to do the same tomorrow, tomorrow night and Thursday. Today it's a "nice" day with sunny skies and a lovely, warm 32F. Better him than me.

We ‘did’ the interactive museum (which was a bust), then stopped by a local botanical garden, which was a total *win*!!

Gave us room to move, we enjoyed the flowers and landscaping. A beautiful park that can be visited frequently as it will never be the same from one time to another.

Below are a few pics…

I have just sent over an hour cleaning out all the medicine drawers, of out of date medication... some of it has never even been open, such a waste... I've bagged up the pills and I'll take them to the pharmacy at some point.

On all the other meds.. I spent time writing the exp date in them in red felt pen on the front .. so I can readily see it.. the writing on the boxes are so small.. and some of these meds expiry date isn't until 2029.. goodness knows my eyesight might be bad by then,..
They got intelligent glasses that can fix that Dolly. Myself I have a 4" diameter magnifying Lense I hold over 1 mm print to read. ... :ROFLMAO: ...

@CinnamonSugar Was it Gibbs Gardens? I've wanted to go there for the longest time. I used to like Callaway Gardens, but when the Callaway family sold it, it went downhill fast. It's not pretty anymore.

@Georgiagranny You replied: "@OneEyedDiva Glad you found your case of Microban. How do you lose a whole case?
Good question. I had forgotten that when the order was delivered, it wasn't in the standard sized box that would hold 6 cans standing upright. It was in a USPS Priority Mail box which is longer and flatter (the cans were shipped laying down side by side). Once I remembered that and that Deja's go bag was sitting on top of something in the coat closet, I knew it must be that box. I had looked in the closet before, but didn't see it then because the box is hidden behind the rolling cart that holds my office supplies.

I hope your business is not adversely affected by all of this. I'm seeing so many stories of business owners who are or will be.

Think some pinheads are getting their spankings
as their stock's values tank into debtors' prisons.
