I had my test results from yesterday and some are not too good. I will have a televisit with the doctor next Friday. Sometimes I think it is better not to know the results. I have chronic kidney disease so I guess that is why some are not too good.

Other than that, it is a nice sunny day but the temperature goes up this afternoon. Hope everyone is doing well on the forum.

I picked up my last prescription for Fossamax yesterday. I'll start weaning off that drug. Kind of wish I never started it after hearing all the bad reviews.
Several years ago I started it for a few months and quit after reading bad reviews. I was supposed to take it for 5 years. My doctor wasn’t happy with me quitting without discussing it with him first.
I also refused to take it. My doc wasn't happy but after reading up on the history of this and Actonel, along with the concurrent sudden boom in DXA bone density tests, I decided against taking either. Long story short, big pharma created a drug, then created a need for it.

There are numerous articles explaining this. The one below happens to come from NPR, but if you have an aversion to that source, it's easy enough to search for the info elsewhere.

Time to introduce both check registers to each other. Is it the same account?

Got to be at the VA in about an hour to go over my test results....I don't much care what he says, as long as I'm still upright and looking down at the green side of the sod I figure I'm doing pretty good. :)
Part of what he says is intended to keep you looking down on the grass.

We're on a senior forum... some people have trouble remembering what day it is... it helps...:cautious:
Re: the conversation about forgetting what day it is, a couple years before I retired, I bought a 'retirement clock'. The 2nd hand shows the days of the week, when I've had a busy week, there are times I have to look at it to see what day it is
I often include the day and date when posting on this thread and appreciate when others do.

Being in school or the workaday world moors us to day and date. Retirement often puts us in an ish state. It's easy to drift into figuring out the day/date from a relative perspective, rather than because we actually know it. Our thinking goes like this, Hmmm... it's toward the end of April (pretty sure May Day hasn't come yet), and it's been a few days since Easter but I hear the school buses going so not yet Saturday, so it's probably Thursday or Friday.

Among the questions my mom was always asked during dementia evaluations: What year is this? What day of the week? Do you know today's date? What floor of the building are we on right now?

Beginning to get ready for Wednesday colonoscopy by stopping Plavix today and stopping Eliquis on Sunday. Arranging for early time but not too early for son to pick me up.
Had full day rest yesterday after another fiasco with Access ARide. Need to block them from my brain.
Have to pick up colonoscopy supplies CVS
I'm a nervous wreck. That AAR effs me up something fierce.

Came back yesterday afternoon from two days in Kelowna, not terribly large but a bustling (frantic) city on its main streets. Purpose of the trip was my appointment with a throat specialist, for an exam three years after the end of my successful treatment for a squamous-cell carcinoma. This was my first visit to this particular doctor... result, all was clean & healthy. (And I liked this very personable doctor.)

After a good sleep, woke up this morning to a sunny day. Birds at the feeder. It's been coolish this spring, so it's taken longer than usual for the full range of song birds to arrive back in our neighborhood. They're very welcome.

There's a plan to travel a half-hour north, later today, to celebrate a couple of friends' anniversary. Predictably, there'll be a lot of good food brought by the people attending, and supposedly there'll be some music-making too. Until we drive up, I'll be doing some preparation for resumed carpentry tomorrow, working with my friend Dave on our renovated deck.

Wishing everybody a good day.

My mother would be 106 today.

DD and I went to the garden center. She bought abuncha stuff and two daisy bedding plants for me.

They didn't have the plants I wanted so I didn't spend any money. I've decided to just move what I've already got. It'll take a month of Sundays, but it's the only way to achieve the vision I have for the garden. >le sigh<

Happy Friday, the 25th of April, fellow SF-ers.

Coolish day here, and it might even rain tomorrow! Late April rain? What a lovely gift from Mother Nature that would be!!!

Not much on the horizon today. A little food prep, a little laundry, some reading, some filing, and I don't know what else. I've always been a free-form, let's see where the day takes us, kinda gal, and today's no exception.

Hope you all have a grand day!
