I let the F-150 sit outside for a few months after my husband passed, without starting it. When I did start it to go somewhere the check engine light kept coming on.

When my younger brother made the 10 hour trip down here to help me with some other stuff, he discovered mice had chewed the wiring, not just one wire, but two wires and not where he could easily splice into it but right up at the connectors. It took him a a whole day to fix that😡😡

I don’t know how much truth is in this statement so don’t quote me on it but, the kid at O’Reillys, told my brother that a lot of these wires have soy in their plastic coatings and that’s why the mice like to go after them. I have a hard time believing that, but anything is possible in this day and age.

Whether or not you let your truck sit, that is likely what happened with you as well. They once chewed the wiring on the generator and boy was that an expensive fix🤬🤬
My daughter who owns this land... but has sold the properties on it , and lives there no more.. had terrible trouble with vermin chewing the cables in her vehicles... mice nesting in the engines etc...

Her houses and kennels are on the right...

she lost count of the times she'd go to start one of her vehicles ony to find the cables had been chewed through

It's a lovely sunny day again... I've been emptying drawers, and gathering lots of summer clothes which no longer fit... Shorts mainly.. about 10 pairs of knee length denim... several tops... and filled a big bag with them which I'll drop at the charity shop on Friday later this week when I have to go and have a CT scan at the hospital...

What type of dogs? Some are specifically bred for varmint hunting.
no she had various dogs... Doberman... Staffie, Pitbull cross... german shepherd, Cane Corso... Belgian Mallinois... 3 Labradoodles of various sizes... a wire haired terrier, and Chihuahua... ... and the Doberman was the best ratter... they would always know if there was a rat in one of the sheds because he would be outside the closed door trying to get in.... the best mouser was the miniature Labradoodle.. he turned from the sweetest dog in the world to a killer when he went after the mice.. he showed no mercy.. ..

Just so you know, my daughter and her ex were Quaified dog trainers, who also showed dogs at Crufts et al.... they owned and ran Boarding kennels and a cattery, in Southern Spain until 2 years ago...

@hollydolly ….as you predicted the James Taylor concert was great fun. Got home yesterday at noon and scrambled to get my guy out the door to go to California for a few days. He forgot half his stuff in the rush and fatigue. Oh well. My sister came last night and today we are going on another staycation to a state park that has a huge cave. It will be fabulous!
Oh I'm pleased you enjoyed it... and hopefully you'll have a lovely day today as well... In my Village in Spain there are dozens of Cave homes.. I really fancied buying one many years ago, but we couldn't find any with a pool, so we bought a house on a gated community instead...

In Nerja Spain near where my daughter lived there's a fantastic Cavern... open to the public.. it's just astonishing place , waaaay deep underground , I've been twice..

Grandson Day. Haven't seen him in person for about two weeks? I'm very nervous about AccessARide, both directions. My BFF in FL actually praying for me today. Yup, we're opposites on some things, but I appreciate it and will try to tune in and get some calm from it.

Wish I knew how to calm myself. I said to myself last night "a coward dies a million deaths, a brave person only one" I know this particular problem is only with me because I'm old and powerless and must adjust to that. Look at it more like "people are trying to help me". Give in, surrender as what choice do I have?

I'm phuked. Pardon my French.

Not being harsh here Pepper, ...but how can we know why you're scared..in all seriousness, when you won't tell us WHY you're scared...

Also why can't your family come and visit you given that they know you're having these panic attacks trying to get to see them ?

I'm so sorry. It's all too overwhelming for me, my fears, that I'm paralyzed to speak of them. My family does visit me here almost weekly. On Wednesdays I pick up my grandson from school and am with him till a parent returns from work. I am needed. The family does not know the extent of my panic. They only see how fearful I am about being picked up to go home.

I want to tell you all, I do. Don't mean to be a tease about this. I can't, I'm crippled with anxiety, even when the rides go well. It's me, it's all me. I feel powerless and not in control of the situation.

Just got cell phone notification on which broker will be picking me up. They are not known for giving me problems so I can relax a bit about getting there. Supposed to be picked up to go back home at 6:30pm. That's the ride I've been having trouble with and I'm afraid it will dampen my experience with my grandson. He's so beautiful and I love him so much.

My shrink gave me extra anti anxiety meds to use for this. I'll take it around 3pm and hope.

Good looking kid, Dilattante.

Pepper, what is AccessARide? Is it like Uber or Lyft? Is it a NY thing, or available elsewhere?

I'm still driving, but am interested in what other options there are. Can you tell us anything about this company, and if possible, why using them makes you anxious?

Good luck with your ride back home. It will probably go fine. And what's the worst thing that could happen? You have to call them again or use another driving service? But that probably won't happen. Enjoy your time with your grandson. How old is he?

@Pepper …you need to google and research “rebound” effects of benzodiazepines. This is NOT uncommon that medications have potential side effects. I am assuming that this is a class of medications that you either take or have taken. Rebound can occur in many classes of medications…for pain, for asthma ext. Read and if you suspect this go to someone who can help you with a better plan.

I don't understand your post. It's just over my head right now. I hope I remember it though, to examine what you say in depth. Thank you for caring.

@Sunny
AccessARide is for transporting people in cars who are too disabled to use the public train or bus. An incompetant car service is a quick answer. Is for all ages, all disabilities including mental, all economic groups. It cost the same as using regular system. So, this car ride under $3 per trip.

Grandson will be 7 later this month.

Taking my truck to the dealership to have my vapor lines replaced, seems they were chewed on by an animal.
We had a squirrel do this. DH was sooo mad!

Well as I suspected after the email late last night... it's been a round of mails and phone calls this morning.

The judge has agreed the financial order, so now the Soon2bX has 56 days from the date of the financial order.. to pay...

Still not divorced but that is very imminent... could happen any day now... all very cold and clinical these days
I hope you get a fair settlement and can put this matter to bed. It's been a long, difficult slog for you.
