My DIL made an appt. for me with Parkinson center at my hospital. September. She warned me someone might call with a sooner appt. That just happened. I got so flustered I turned it down. Then I called son, who didn't know what I was talking about. He hadn't been clued in to me also being on list to be called in case of cancellation. So he told me just take it next time. If there is a next time.

I was on landline with friend and call from hosp. came in on cell. I don't know, I got so flustered, stammering, I didn't know what to do, or make decision. Son said "ok, you learned, forgive yourself," as I beat myself up for every wrong thing I do.

I'm a mess.
First, try calling the hospital back and see if that appointment is still available. Tell them you were flustered.

Second, give yourself a hug and reminder that things are overwhelming right now. Next time you’ll be prepared. You’re tough.

Spur of the moment decision: we drove about 60 miles (an hour one way) to a Nissan dealer this morning. We ended up putting a deposit down on a Sentra. It is expected to be delivered next week.

I love the car that we have right now, and I hate to see it go, but it has over 100,000 miles on it from all of those trips to the roller rink. Dio has been researching cars for 2 years, and having a hard time finding what he wanted. This will be our first vehicle that is not a Chevy, in the last 50 years!
this is the problem I have with mine..I love it, it's been my wonderful workhorse, best car I've ever owned tbh...but it's now got mucho mileage on the clock.... . I recently had the complete suspension arm bushes replaced, both nearside and offside... brake pads x4... front brake disks x2 replaced.. new rear exhaust silencer box and clamp renewed... 4 new tyres .....so I'm dragging my heels about getting a new car.

It’s probably good for another hundred miles now and no car payment🤠🤠

My Saturn is a 2002 that I bought new. Some days I think I might like a new vehicle, until I look at
the price tags, plus too many of them are on recall these days.

My hay arrived this morning - 125 bales. That and what I have left of last year’s hay will get my horses to this time next year. I like this fella’s hay. He bales 50-55 pound bales and it’s good clean horse hay. One or two people said they knew where they could get hay cheaper. I replied, yeah but you’re also buying 40-45 pound bales 🙄🙄. I paid the same price as last year, delivered & stacked.

...100 miles,? I'm sure it's good for another 5000 plus at least.... tbh....... I never had a car payment on it anyway, aside from one car from brand new, I've always bought my cars cash...

Per earlier post, related my old Forester was in a shop today to be SMOG repaired for $1.92k. But NOOOooooo, won't happen after the shop called back. So just got back from another 1.5 miles of walking and another Light Rail train ride to pick my car back up. Apparently the state of California in order to rid older vehicles regardless of whether they run well or can pass testing, has made it nearly impossible to find California certified replacement catalytic converters for my model by requiring only out of stock $3.5k manufacturer stock parts that are 10 times normal cost. Instead will have to send the car to a junk yard dismantler and get reimbursed $1.3k.

So will need to endure more pain dealing with that next week and quickly purchase a 2020+ used AWD Hybrid SUV. Generally, I loathe the process of buying vehicles and always pay cash. And owning a new used or new vehicle is not something that ever excites me...yawn.

It's a kind of ishy day today... greyish...sunny-ish.. breezy-ish....

I've tried to get an appointment with my Doctor but they have no available appt's until the 2nd of July...

I may have to try the out of hours service at the local hospital. It's not A&E... it's a cottage hospital which has GP services after hours.. and they only dispense what a GP can..like prescriptions or advice.. or recomend a visit to A&E... but first you have to run the gauntlet of the out of hours service receptionists by phone. and they decide if you can see someone or not.. so I maay try them this evening..

The last place I want to go is to spend 12hours in the outpatients dept of the A&E at the nearest hospital which is a 30 mile round trip.. and the parking costs a fortune..
This is most likely the point most all seniors have, it's a fact to understand.

geez that is NOT what I meant. I meant one hundred thousand miles. I think I’ve already mentioned how bad. Y math is🙄🙄
I don't know..it;s very high mileage now at 150k..but every time I take it to a garage they always say what a great car it is..despite it's high mileage, and it's age.. 18 years old..

Our car also has over 100,000 miles and has never needed any repairs!!!!! Best car I've ever had!

Today was another productive day. I took an Uber to the podiatrist. I would have walked if it wasn’t raining. I had to wait longer than usual to be seen, but in a way it worked out. It had stopped raining by the time I left, so I walked to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription that was ready since last week.

Shortly after I got home and changed clothes, my son sat with me and sorted beans while I refilled two pill cases. I was tired and knew that after I ate a snack, I would fall asleep and that’s exactly what happened. I was awakened by my HS#3 who called and asked if I wanted to take a ride to Shoprite in a new location that I’ve been wanting to check out. I needed to return something, so of course I got myself ready. Honorary Daughter popped in for a minute and I was happy to see her, if only briefly.

Upon returning home, we sat in the car and continued our conversation about the concept for Saturday’s broadcast. I also let him hear the drafts of what I plan to play on two of his tracks (I recorded myself using my phone). It was such a nice night to ride as well as sit with the windows open letting the breeze circulate. I brought graham crackers and part of a pack wound up being my dinner tonight..eaten with milk so I could take my meds.

And now…here I am. Have a great night my friends.

Just some pictures.

Left: My wife prepares for me delicious and super healthy salads. I especially like munching on raw peppers. Have you ever tried Jalapeno peppers? (https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/jalapeno-health-benefits) They cause you to jump up to the ceiling and to drink a gallon of water.
Right: Usually I am eating for breakfast oats with nutritious cocoa and fiber, with a teen spoon of sugar, microwaved 1 1/2 minutes, and some fruits.

The full moon behind trees....................................................................With 2 traps I caught 7 squirrels in 10 days; I'll release'm in the wilderness.

My new $160, 40" smart Vizio TV also gives me free access to YouTube with thousands of videos. My favorite ones are those dealing
with history that refresh my memory and fill in more details; and those with pets, especially with toddlers and their dog playmates.
Although most are "for pay," sling, tubi, and "watch free+" are also free.

Wow...I never thought of putting cocoa in my oatmeal. Right now I only have the packets, but chocolate would probably go well with a couple of flavors. YouTube has a wealth of all kinds of videos. After watching cat videos with Deja, that algorithm was set, so a lot of cute kitten videos pop up.

Striped blazer & tie 001.JPG
My wife came across this blazer at a trader's stall at some festival or other. You notice it isn't buttoned up. That's because it's not a good fit. But the trader just wanted to sell it off and I bought it, almost for pennies. It looks just as good unbuttoned.

Recently the tailor who makes most of my jackets announced that he has invested in digital textile printing. It means you can virtually print your own pattern on the fabric. Today, I have a meeting with my tailor to discuss the idea of reproducing this blazer's fabric for the tailor to create a new blazer, in vintage style, that will actually button up. Watch this space.

that jacket is what we called in TV production as a strober.... and presenters and guests are not permitted to wear them, because it creates a distortion to the camera and to the eyes of the viewers...

Today it;s verrry ovecast...we;re supposed to get sun for the rest of the week, but it's as grey as can be today

I want to go to my high street bank if I can today, because this is their last day of trading before they close the branch down. ... but I have to wait in for a call from my daughter at lunchtime. I could go out but if I'm driving I can't take the call, because I have no hands free.. so I'll see how I feel after she's called whether I want to go out or not

Right now we have a 2017 Chevy Cruz, that we bought new. Dio has done regular maintenance, like oil changes and tune ups. That's it! It never even burned out a lightbulb. Now you know why I don't want to see it go!
