GOOD MORNING FRIENDS!!! BRIGHT SUNNY DAY NOW, IT RAINED OFF AND ON ALL NITE I THINK..75f NOW, 90F LATER
HUMID AT 88%...WOW....I CAN TELL IT IS VERY HUMID BECAYS
MY COPD IS ACTING UP...AH WELL....NO SPECIFIC PLANS FOR
THE DAY YET...MAY START SOME LAUNDRY LATER, OR NOT...LOLO....;):coffee:

Morning all, on my early walk at 6:45, temp was 73 no breeze, a bit humid as I walked down to the end of the street where the local co op is located{am a member} I bought some milk, coffee cake
Mon afternoon, my church friend, Jenny { she was here in June} called & told me her sister,Liz was here for the weekend. She was wondering if they could stop by around noon, could give the tour. I told Jenny ",Yes, and you both will get a free lunch", she profusely thanked me. I'm looking forward to this
The rest of my day, may take afternoon walk if its not too humid
I'll be eating in the dining room tonight at 6 with Connie, Bob and 2 other residents

I spent so much time in the garden this morning that I'm gonna count it as two of the three things for today. I dug up four big buckets of weeds...can you tell it's been a while since any serious weeding was done?

Then DD and DGD were going out and about so I went along because I needed to get more pumpkin baby food for Maggiecat. She's having some...er...pooping problems. For now, she's only getting wet food. Once this problem has been cleared up, she'll start getting a little dry food again, too.

As long as I was in the store...she said...I picked up stuff to make chicken pot pie for supper tonight. Anything to avoid more drive-thru food that's DD's go-to when she doesn't feel like cooking. Actually, she rarely feels like cooking because she hates it. LOL

The third thing today is going to be vacuuming up (again!) the litter that Maggiecat manages to fling everydamnwhere.

This will be a surprise to y'all: it's hot. 83 and feels like 90.

Stay cool, kids. Or dry. Whichever applies. Or both?

My Saturday was busy and apparently tiring because I fell asleep with the dinner plate in my lap. I remember my son taking it away for me. I woke up after midnight. On Saturday, I got busy before the sun rose. I scooped the litter box twice, Swiffered the kitchen and bathroom floors and got the garbage ready for my son to take out about 5 a.m. I also made my evening and morning prayers.

Later in the day, I started straightening up in the bedroom. I had to clear off my section of the dresser which had gotten what I call "the creeps". I also spent time downloading, uploading and organizing digital music files.

I rehearsed the song I was to sing on our karaoke broadcast a few times in the earlier part of the day. I arrived at the studio at 6:45 for the 7 p.m. show. HS#3 goes to see his dad immediately after and when he left there, he called me to take a ride with him to the Walgreens in the next town over. I was glad to get out in the air, discuss tonight's show as well as the broadcast for next week and other topics.

It is now 3:17 a.m. and I have no idea what the rest of the day will bring.

I put my socks on earlier, then I noticed one was blue and the other black patterned, so I took them off again and threw them in the basket. I put on another pair and then noticed that one was green and the other blue... arh well, that's near enough I thought, they will have to do. 😊

Good morning, kids. It's already oppressively hot here.

My Optimizing;) plan for today:

This morning I'm gonna get dressed in my best gardening duds and bop on out to the garden to move some dusty miller plants. They're getting too much water and need to be somewhere drier, like in a pot that I won't water except every now and then. A couple of nights ago a critter ate most of the portulaca and dug up the rest. What? I bet it was a bunny🐇. Time to get out the Critter Ridder before it, or whatever it is, gets hungry for some other pretty flowers.

Besides the garden and the never-ending vacuuming, I can't think of a third thing for today. Any ideas? One thing for sure that the third thing isn't is making dinner again. Too hot to cook and DD has a work deadline so she for sure won't be "kitchening." I'll forage in the freezer and cupboards.

Oooo! I just thought of a third thing if it doesn't get too hot before about 10 (because, yanno, it's Sunday morning and all). DSIL replaced the spark plug in the leaf blower, and the river birch has shed all over everdamnwhere so those can get cleaned up. That'll make three.

It's daylight. Gotta get moving. Y'all stay cool⛄.

It's going to be a inside day after I water everything. My house needs cleaning.
Family dinner is next week so I'll start thinking about that. My DIL doesn't eat meat so I incorporate something she can have. I'm thinking meatloaf and vegetable lasagna. Not sure if that sounds too "hot" for August. I'm just in the mood for meatloaf. Lots of summer fruit and veggies on the side. Cool dessert.
DH is in full swing after his pneumonia bout. The yard is looking good. He's been getting up and out early before the heat and gnats. He's going to do a fall/winter vegetable garden this year. Good choice in this climate!
Have a wonderful Sunday!

Good morning to everyone, hot today with heat index at 112 degrees. It did rain yesterday afternoon and evening for a short time. At least it watered my Gardenia plant.

@hollydolly, I am sorry to hear that your hand may be re-infected. It is nice you get to go out with your friend. Have a nice time today and hope your hand will be okay.

Everyone on here have a great day. :)

Good morning, all! It's early Sunday morning, July 27th, and everything is quiet here. We hosted a sleepover for my 13 & 10 year old grandkids from Fri to Sat, because my almost 21 year old grandniece is here, and they all love cousin-time.

Yesterday our three kids and their fams came over for a BBQ. The kids were mostly in the pool, including the 3-1/2 year old who stayed on the steps. When it was time to go home, he cried real tears. Not just tantrum tears, but true sadness tears. The older two were also very down-in-the-mouth at the party being over, so I arranged for the three of them to come over again today. Their parents are also welcome, of course.

So today will be another fun cousin day. 🥳 I'll have to figure out lunch and plan to take a turn lifeguarding the little one, but they're all pretty easy to please so it should work out fine.

We've been having gorgeous weather for my GN's visit. Not too hot to be outside, and just warm enough that the pool temp is in the sweet spot of being both refreshing and comfortable. Goldilocks weather.

Hope you all make today a wonderful day!

@StarSong Goldilocks weather. Love it. We usually get ours in late September and October but not now, for sure. Our heat index is gonna exceed 100F again. No relief in sight before the end of the week. Out West we never bothered with a "feels like" temperature because it was so dry out there that the temperature was the temperature, period.

Dug up three dusty millers and planted them in a pot where I can control the dampness. Deadhead a buncha flowers. Moved a daisy to a better spot. Dug a plant that I can't remember the name of and replanted in a pot. Killed a buncha weeds. The garden is so big that when I finally get through the entire thing, it's time to start over again. >le sigh< And everybody got thoroughly watered.

I washed up the dishes, too. Used to be that I wouldn't go to bed at night unless all the dishes were washed, dried and put away because getting up to a sink full of dirty dishes made me crabby. Meh. Now my MO is to wash them up when there are enough of them to make a difference because I'm old and get to be crabby whenever I wanna be ;)

The kitty litter still needs to be vacuumed up. It'll wait for a bit, but it'll get done.

I'm also easier on myself with age. I've learned that that whatever doesn't get done this minute will almost always be patiently waiting to be done, with little to no consequence for having put it off a bit.

I usually do the last few errant dishes before going to bed but if not, I catch them first thing in the morning. No harm, no foul.

I tell you what , since my accident, I'm finding I no longer care much about anything getting done....I saw just how quickly I nearly lost my life... and so none of the things aside from my own daughter.. matters any more to me. There's now no feeling of urgency to improve anything.. to get things done quickly.. to replace things.... ...to make things look special

What for ?.. just so someone can just wipe your life away in a single moment... and it'll all have been for nothing..😩

Also...I've lost bluddy faith in Amazon yet again.... ordered an antiseptic spray for my hand recommended by my daughter.. who swears by it for everything even tho' technically it's supposed to be for animals, came home, and it said it had been ''handed to resident''.. of course it hadn't.. and even if it had been left on the doorstep and it had been stolen .. that would have been a lie anyway from the driver ...but I have Video ring doorbell, and there's no amazon driver on it for today

I contacted Amazon..cuz I needed that spray today.. and they say can do nothing until Tuesday.

I'm making bread in the bread machine. It's something I haven't done since I started making sourdough bread. It's a whole wheat bread and I made the mix when I was making sourdough mixes.
The make ahead mixes (in old ice cream containers) are the dry ingredients. I do that for other baked goods like cornbread and brownie mix. Spend time to save time. Ooh, can I take credit for that phrase? 🤔

neighbours just brought me dinner.. they didn't know about the accident... so they saw my hand and arm all bandaged.. and asked what happened... they were so upset they didn't know...

Anyway, they've brought me dinner of steaks and peppered mashed spuds, and side salad .. I didn't have the heart to tell them I can't use a knife to cut the steaks up...

No one else is there. Pick that steak up with one hand and gnaw on it. Eat as much as you can then put it back in the fridge for tomorrow. Tough times call for different measures.

I expect you’ll be seeing many more meals now that she knows.

Home from church, sitting outside in the shade with a nice breeze.. so that makes it do-able for now. In another hour it won’t matter where you sit, it will be too hot to be outside.

Going by the silhouette in flight, I think a new pair of bird of prey have moved into our neighborhood, either kites or osprey… interesting watching them fly and listening to them call to each other.

I’m finding the alto parts in Choir a little bit easier, though I still at times have to stick my finger in one ear so that I don’t get distracted by the melody part 😜

Y’all have a lovely Sunday
