I can't get rubber gloves on.. and I am not allowed to get the bandaged hand wet... so it's a bit of a performance, wrapping my hand in cling film using just my left hand to do it, to try and wash up...

I 've not been able to Vac since before the accident 2 weeks ago.. and i'm constantly having to apologise to visitors for the untidiness of the house currently.. :(

Also...I've lost bluddy faith in Amazon yet again.... ordered an antiseptic spray for my hand recommended by my daughter.. who swears by it for everything even tho' technically it's supposed to be for animals came home, and it said it had been ''handed to resident''.. of course it hadn't.. and even if it had been left on the doorstep and it had been stolen .. that would have been a lie anyway from the driver ...but I have Video ring doorbell, and there's no amazon driver on it for today

I contacted Amazon..cuz I needed that spray today.. and they say can do nothing until Tuesday.

Odds are its next door Doll! Think they use GPS and many times drive past for several blocks If you are in a housing district, then come back to deliver as they leave your street. Across the street from.

We have a new mailman with his lil white truck. He seems to deliver it right. The former, well it would be with in a mile in the neighbors
box several times a year. Delivered an acceptance to Wash U. and the girl lived 6 blocks away. Clearly addressed. I handed it to her.
She said, "Thank you, it has been and honor sir. " ..... :ROFLMAO: ..... Think she believed I was Dean of Wash U. WTH !

Were in a real heat wave here in St. Louis Metro area, some rain but very humid.
The windows are covered with sweat. Temp set at 75, AC runs a bit. Not a Dark
hoody day for me.
 
I have been hoping to socialize the two kittens to get them ready for adoption. Momcat seems to have a different idea and is teaching them the way of the ferals. The three of them ate and slept on the porch this morning. But I still haven't been able to touch them. They may end up being community cats. At least they have been neutered. I am concerned about the heat. It will reach 100 more than once this week.

Anyway, they've brought me dinner of steaksm peppered mashed spuds, and siie salad .. I didn't have the heart to tell them I can't use a knife to cut the steaks up...

yes that's why I laid low, and didn't tell them, because it was..very difficult to stand up an sit down to answer the door, while my ribs were so bad... they're still sore, but a lot less than they were
 
Oh, the excitement. DD and I went to Goodwill to drop off some donations🥱. Then she washed the frames on her patio doors, while I stayed inside in the a/c and played solitaire on the laptop.

Gotta stop all this frenetic activity before I wear myself out.

It was yesterday. Easy 70 mile mc ride on the 250, half highway and half dirt w my buddy. The flowers are still going strong! Indian Paintbrush, Yarrow, Fireweed, Lupine, and a bunch of others that I can longer recall the name of. We had lunch at a mountain biker hangout, and got my fill of ladies in lycra!!! 2 old geezers in mc gear put a few of them off I'm sure.

Today got up way too early, shoulders were beat from riding the past couple days, but couldn't even muster up enough energy to go soak. Breakfast and coffee, and then an hour nap. Made it to gym when it opened at 10am to work on my shoulders, do some mat work, and cardio.

Archery elk season starts in a month so this afternoon I set up my archery target, and shot 4 groups, 3 arrows each. I haven't shot my bow since 8/31/2024 when I shot a 5pt bull. The equipment is functioning well but might need to adjust the aim point up a couple inches and a couple to the right. We'll give it a few more days before making an adjustment however.

Having stent surgical procedure on Thursday. No circulation whatsoever, none. I'm surprised I can walk at all. Yesterday, walked for 80 minutes in two shifts. Doc says I must walk 2 hours a day if I don't want to wind up in a wheelchair. I went to my park's back field and just walked the circumference over & over, had nowhere to actually go. Today will be like 100 degrees, so my exercise was laundry. Extremely painful but I would rather be in pain than lose the ability to walk. Doc was very serious. Son was with me, and he asked great questions. I'm so glad he was able to come with me.

Doc is very aware of my anxiety problem. He's seen it.

Pepper..it's Sunday and I'm just seeing this! I hope your procedure went well, you're not in pain and that the procedure will solves the issues you had. It's good to see that you feel you're already able to be out and about with your grandson.
 
it's 2.20am.. I'm still wide awake.. I have to be up fairly early because I have to make sevral calls to hopsital, for another x-ray... then to surgery for their opinion on the photo the district nurse sent... and then I have to call the Insurance people who are dealing with the personal legal expenses.. and then.. I've got an appointment at the car showroom in the next county, to look at a potential new car for me...

Even as a passenger in a plush upholstered car.. as I was today ..it's still really sore on my ribs to even get and out of the car.. and after about 20 minutes or so.. it hurt just sitting ... My whole body on the right side, is every hue of colour with bruising..

People are amazed that it happened so recently, and yet given that it was so catastrophic. of a car crash.. that to them I seem to be improving astonishingly well.... but to me.. I feel that I shouldn't hurt so much... It's stupid really because that was incredible that I wasn't killed, and I thank god for it that I didn't suffer much more injuries, .. but in saying all of that the cconstant pain in the current injuries, is just getting me down now..

I used 1" surgical tap to tape my freezer bag over my casts on my wrists. I took showers ok then. Sort of kept them out of the flow of water.
I had a seat to sit on in the shower for about a month. They gave me blood thinners for my bruising. Both shoulders to below knees.
My Left broken Femur was rodded / bolted / fixed. Right hip shattered. There I was in the Hospital Physical Therapy depts for a month, Broken, battered, but not dead. Hang in there Doll. You doing good. I's Back to work in 3 months. It hurt for a year exactly. Felt like a baseball bat hit my leg every morning when I got up. Walked it off. No pain no Gain. Lol Femur does not like to get broken it was really prissy.

The thing I like the best was the heat pad, then the Tens Treatment for my knee / left leg. I turned it as high as it would go. Smoken Charlotte!
Pick your passion. At work 40 + hours a week after 3 months. Thanksgiving present back at work full time.

Today I'm flying solo again doing one of my other favourite things (Mrs Oy is my hero for suggesting this and supporting me through this troubled time.)

I'm catching 4 trains to get to one of the best freight train spotting stations in the UK. Doncaster. I will take ophotos, drink beer and generally have a nice time. There will be hundreds of photos but I won't bore you with trains :)

You went through a lot.. ..very very painful for you.. brave guy to have walked through the pain in your recovery...

They haven't given me blood thinners for the brusing.. I think it's different here because we don't pay out of pocket..or insurances for our medical care as you do in the US..so unless they feel something can't be treated another way they're often loathe to prescribe an expensive ( to the NHS) medication..

In this case of my severe brusing, both eternally and internally.. I have used Topical arnica Gel... and arnica tablets.. and the bruising on my skin.. has improved amazingly in such a short times... compared to what it was... I can't tell about the internal bruising because that still hurts like Billy-O

My outing yesterday has cost me today.. could barely sleep for the back and rib cage muscle spasms, .. my arms and hand are so painful..:( it's not possible for me to go and view the potential new car at the showroom today, so I've made another appt for later in the week. I've put a refundable reserve on it, so it won't be sold until I view it ..

Got to ring the surgery for their opinion of the photos sent by the district nurse, but trying to get through to my GP surgery on a Monday morning..is impossible, so I'll wait until this afternoon before calling
