My heart goes out to you @packleaderOn the other side of the Santa Ana Mountains is the Pacific Ocean. Very sad but Otto on the left has cancer.

It takes time but your son has to see you walking the walk every day, day after day, month after month, and year after year. This won't happen overnight. Be patient. Don't push.A beautiful sunny day here. The AA meeting (only my fourth) was tough. The topic was Step 9/making amends. But what if someone won't let you make amends? (I'm asking that rhetorically—I'm not seeking an actual answer.) I've tried so hard to make amends with my son, and he's just not having it.
I'm trying not to let it get me down. I stopped by Home Goods after the meeting and treated myself to a few small items. I'll be going for a walk later today to get some fresh air and exercise, and, of course, I have work to do. Monday/Tuesday deadlines are looming!
I hope you all have a great day.
Be careful on that ladder!Discovered this morning that the rest of the milk in the carton has gone sour. Grrr. Good thing I bought milk yesterday. Then discovered that a Dunkin Donuts coffee pod that I thought I rescued from DGD's stash yesterday is "creamy" vanilla. Um...that is, it has the cream built in. Yuck. I wanted coffee, not a trendy creation. Dumped it and made a cup of real coffee and used the fresh milk. Whew. That was better.
DD had the gutters cleaned yesterday. Then a howling wind came along and blew a crapton of leaves only in the gutter outside The Hovel. Nowhere else on the house. Just The Hovel. The gutters are covered with screens, but if the leaves settle there and get deep enough rain water just runs off them and onto...me! when I'm sitting on the teeny, tiny patio. Sigh. Guess who's gonna get out the ladder and sweep off the gutter?
From here the day will get better, right? LOL
Well, the horns are one thing, but the whole head I find disturbing, is all. Knew hunters in Wisconsin. Didn't like seeing actual animal faces. Disrespectful, IMOCan a hunter do all the things morally and legally required and still enjoy the horns? It's kinda like finding a rock at Craters of the Moon, it's a keepsake or a memento of the hunt to be cherished long after the meat is gone.
This particular animal was a 1 1/2 yo male so it horns were barely a foot long and still covered w velvet so they stayed in the woods.
Thanks, @hearlady; that's very kind.It takes time but your son has to see you walking the walk every day, day after day, month after month, and year after year. This won't happen overnight. Be patient. Don't push.
I can do it safely, too. I just don't feel like it!Phew, glad you decided against cleaning that gutter, GG. When your SIL or DD has time they can do it safely in a few minutes.
When you're done with your coffee and have finished vacuuming, c'mon over. I need vacuuming done, too. Oh...wait...there are a couple of small stains that need to be cleaned up first. Wudju mind? TIAAwake too early and contemplating vacuuming. Will drink my coffee instead.
That’s pretty close to the apple a day for keeping the doctor away. It worked.Just had an apple cider donut and glass of milk. The day is looking better now.
