@Marie5656 I remember you had this issue in the past. I hope the antibiotics are the correct ones. I'm so glad you told them what you did. It can be hard to do this. It's actually advocating for and protecting yourself, especially if you have snow and wet, cold weather.

Does weather affect dogs? The Santa Ana Winds are blowing like crazy. Not in our place, but at the Porter Ranch area the winds are probably blowing again at 100 mph. That's why my pups are so perked up, running around wild and chasing each other. I expect some Eucalyptus Tree branches to come down again.

Well it's racing towards 4.30pm almost dark... what a day ! I'm so glad I don't rely on buses to get around. I checked the time table to go down to get my car, and just as I got to the bus stop he was pulling away.. and I was 10 minutes early, so it was another half hour wait. I decided to walk to the next bus stop just for the exercise.. ooooh my god, the wind was like Raw Ice... sunny beautiful day . blue skies, and frrreeezing winds.. nearly froze my face off 🥶🥶..it's -1..now..

Still , it's quite funny because I've had this house for 43 years and really only know my neighbours.. but standing at the bus stop on my own, several people chatted for a few minutes or said Hi.. as they walked past... I have never set eyes on these people but they seem to live in my road...just goes to show how we isolate ourselves using the mighty motor..

ETA :...I just realised that in one week's time I will have had this house for 44 years
Very impressive that you bought your house (and it sounds like it is a beautiful one) when you were a young woman! Wonderful accomplishment.

It was a busy day in the "office" today. Sir and I both left at noon after getting lots done. I'm off tomorrow; he's off Friday, and NL is off Saturday so it'll be another couple of busy days.

I did manage to squeeze out enough time to clean our huge stainless steel oven. Every time I get in there, I feel like Gretel! But the witch only wanted to fatten up Hansel before cooking him. I dunno if she'd have tried to fatten up me. I'm pretty bony.

@Trila If you run out of bright ideas for the hamburger, just cook it up loose and seal in zipper sacks and freeze to use when you think of something you want to make with it.

You could make hamburger/veggie soup. I'm wishing for some right now. Hamburger, onions and garlic (of course), beef broth, veggies, two envelopes of Italian dressing mix, no salt because the Italian dressing is plenty salty. I don't have a recipe, just use the by-guess-and-by-golly method. You could leave out potatoes and throw in a handful of barley if you have it. Or rice. Dang. Now I'm hungry. How about some nice crusty French bread to go with it?

@hollydolly Please tell us it's not raining on you.

@hawkdon As cold as it is, it would have been a good morning for biscuits and gravy. Jussayin'
@Georgiagranny how is Sir's health these days? I recall in past posts you had mention that he was dealing with some health issues.

@Leann Sir seems to be stable for the time being. Docs are encouraging him to have this surgery, that surgery, this procedure, that procedure, but he is resisting. Guess I can't blame him. It's kind of the devil-you-know vs. the devil-you-don't-know. He's convinced that any one of the surgeries/procedures will make one or more of the other health problems worse. He also says "Who can live on disability?" He has a point. He also doesn't want to be "disabled" to a point where he can no longer work. Like me, he says "If I didn't work, what would I do? Just sit around and wait to die?"

Poppin in to say hello y'all.
Been a while..

I have been having troubles with this that and the next thing and I just hate to write about them as they are mostly
'things' I have to live with at this age so I try to keep my mind on jolly things like cartoons and funny animals and all that stuff though I do poke my nose in other things sometimes.

However today I did something that I have to share and you must all pat me on the back and say ' there, there' been there done that ...uhuh..

So I opened my desk bottom drawer , cleaned it out and took 5 years of all sorts of beautiful greeting cards, you know, birthdays , seasonal , etc., down to the recycle bin and I feel bluddy awful.Tears 3.gif

There .... I feel a bit better getting it off my chest

Hope you are all doing the best you can .

Did some accounting for my son and me.

Had a 3:30 appointment for a mammo & ultrasound. The Uber app was sending the driver to the wrong address (1.5 miles away)! I didn't notice it until after I clicked confirm, the driver was on the move and I saw the “car” headed to the wrong spot on the map. Like they say…haste makes waste. I disputed the charge and the $5.75 cancellation fee was refunded.

Good morning. It's starting off kind of warm-ish today. By 10 or so the rain will start, then we're in for a wet and wild day. I'm gonna come home from work and hunker down, praying that tornadoes don't visit.

Time to get dressed and boogie off to bake 🥐 🥐 and stuff.

Morning all... overcast again.. 5 deg C... I've just got all bundled up... big polo neck, 2 layers... because I have to go out shortly, and drive back to Specsavers to get my refund sorted out... I'm still surprised as to how it could have printed out a receipt for a CC that I didn't use to purchase the specs... .. I'm fully expecting a bit of a problem...hopefully not, but I'll soon find out..

Trying to help DH with every little thing that I am able to.
Both of us having a lot of stressors. Trying to cope with each one, and with several at a time....it's difficult! I guess that's why they are called stressors.

Looking out my window, today, I see beautiful blue sky.
In between a short sequence of 2 strong, damaging of storms, each with dire warnings, that add more stress; it's all the more welcome to see the gorgeous and peaceful color of the sky, today.

Having a small cup of delicious, warm coffee.
Saying hello, to all of you.

Yesterday was a long and exhausting day. It started out with no Wi-Fi and home. This, apparently, was not a good oman. Here is a summary of the day....

*We went to the gym, and I had a very good workout.
Image

* From there we stopped for coffee.

* Next, I got my new bifocals. I'm still trying to get used to them.....very different from what I have been using for the last 20 years or so. 👓

* From there we walked across the street to Wal-Mart. Ran in, grabbed a few things, and ran out.

* Back across the street.....to Subway, for a sandwich.

* By now it was about 1:30. We had about 30 minutes to get across town for my appointment with the Orthopedic Surgeon....the good, not the one who fixed my wrist!

* Dio dropped me off, then went down the road to his appointment. After xrays, the doctor confirmed that the problem was exactly what I thought it was (I've had this 15 years ago). I ended up getting a shot in my knee, and my doc has a high level of confidence that is all it needed. It might feel worse for a few days, then start getting better. If it still hurts 3-4 weeks from now, he will schedule an MRI for me, then reassess the situation. I was very happy with how my appointment went!

* I was out faster than expected, and had to wait a long time for Dio to get me. His appointment did not go as well as mine. He will be going back to continue his care.

* By the time we picked up his prescription and got home, it was after 5:30. That's very late for us! Before we could go in for the night, we had to get The Girls set up for the cr*p weather that is to start today.

🍳 Well, I'm all caught up with my news. It's past time for breakfast, so I guess I should get on that. Bye!

Is climate change for real? Some 40 years ago, we had every winter a 1/4 inch ice on our pond, and PVC water pipes burst. Our Canna flowers in the creek bed died even in light frost and wouldn't bloom again till May. Now they are blooming year-round.

I can't remember when we even had light frost the last time. The coldest nights are usually in December, but at out house we just had the coldest temperature this sunrise at 37.9 degrees. FOR YEARS AND YEARS WE JUST HAVEN'T HAD ANYMORE THE COLD NIGHTS WE USED TO HAVE.

The thermometer is just below the central house heater outlet. We keep the temperature in our house at seventy and NOT in the mid-eighties.
