I danced for a half hour this morning. Today’s playlist was Me. :D 🎶 And it was fun. My BFF and I talked for over an hour this morning. I had a GYN appointment this afternoon in another town. I took an Uber there but my son was able to pick me up.

My doctor and I had a lively, fun conversation before getting my exam started. I was actually telling her jokes from Mrs. Hughes routine during part of the process. The exam seemed so much easier than past years. I got referrals for the mammo (though not needed), ultrasound and bone density test. My doctor is very thorough and is known for excellence in the medical community.

I had been up since 3 a.m. and hadn’t taken a nap. After eating dinner at about 5:30, I promptly fell asleep and didn’t wake up until 8:30. Trying to be fully awake now and am doing some catching up here.

No grandson day today. Son working via Zoom from home. They are coming Saturday. My son has a list of things to fix that Louie broke since they were last here, the most important being one of my bedroom window blinds that he tore off a metal hinge and it even got bent and is hanging askew. His other destructions have left my mind right now; must keep a written list.

AccessARide. My therapist heard from them. I didn't. Absolutely NOTHING will be done, just like I said.

Morning friends......it is 15F deg here this morning...yes it is 15f..... that is obscene.....oh well I don't have to go out in it....

Blood glucose measured far too high this morning, but I was up way late and ate an evil snack. Probably just didn't fast long enough before testing this morning. Fell fine so I'm not worried. Going in to see the doc later on so I'll get my lecture then unless I don't bring it up. :ROFLMAO:

Big set of Lab test results to talk about anyway. Most of them were very good, only a few bad but none seriously.

The joys of walking among the elderly, hmm?

@StarSong, awww I'm sorry that the Rib/s are not playing nicely, and they're taking a while to painfully heal.. maybe worth checking with a doc that it's really a rib.. and not something else that might respond to treatment .. poor you.. :(
Thank you so much for your kind and caring words. ❤️

Although I had physical (not computer) work yesterday, DH & I we got the job done in less time than expected - about three hours. He'll deliver the order later today. Nothing physically stressful after that, and this morning the ribs seem none the worse for wear. In fact (dare I jinx progress by saying this?) after two weeks, they're finally starting to hurt a little less.🤞 Healing takes so much longer as we get older.

Light day today - will start a load of laundry after DH gets up. Since I don't have to walk down to a river and beat the clothes against the rocks, hang them on an outdoor line to dry, or (heaven forbid) iron them, it's not such a big deal. God bless the humans who invented washers, dryers and indoor drying clothes racks.

Local weather has been mostly dry and mildly cool (today's high 60°F,15.5°C). This morning I'll assess uniform inventory levels at the schools and recommend purchases (mostly sweatshirts at this time of year) to get them through the next couple of months. After that I'll return to the cookbook organizing project. All easy-on-the-ribs computer work.

Hah! I knew it!

Did another test before eating anything and it came out well into the normal range. Bad test strip or dirty hands most likely. It's always something!

I never did show up yesterday. I was so busy that I completely missed Coosday!

The day started out with Dio having more of his cancer (along with "something" else) removed. The day ended with going to get my new glasses, only to find out that they were made wrong and need to be re-done.

In between, we stopped at Wal-Mart for a few items. While there, Dio bought 10# of ground beef. Yes! I said 10#!!!!!

So today, I will be making (and freezing) hamburger patties, meatloaf set up (also to freeze), and whatever else I can think of making with all of that meat. Right now I'm just hoping that I can fit it all into the freezer!!

Well, it will give me something to do while Dio cuts down the next tree. (3 trees total are planned to be cut this winter.)

Tomorrow will be another busy day....I'm not sure if I'll be here.

I'll catch up with everyone when I can! Bye!

It was a busy day in the "office" today. Sir and I both left at noon after getting lots done. I'm off tomorrow; he's off Friday, and NL is off Saturday so it'll be another couple of busy days.

I did manage to squeeze out enough time to clean our huge stainless steel oven. Every time I get in there, I feel like Gretel! But the witch only wanted to fatten up Hansel before cooking him. I dunno if she'd have tried to fatten up me. I'm pretty bony.

@Trila If you run out of bright ideas for the hamburger, just cook it up loose and seal in zipper sacks and freeze to use when you think of something you want to make with it.

You could make hamburger/veggie soup. I'm wishing for some right now. Hamburger, onions and garlic (of course), beef broth, veggies, two envelopes of Italian dressing mix, no salt because the Italian dressing is plenty salty. I don't have a recipe, just use the by-guess-and-by-golly method. You could leave out potatoes and throw in a handful of barley if you have it. Or rice. Dang. Now I'm hungry. How about some nice crusty French bread to go with it?

@hollydolly Please tell us it's not raining on you.

@hawkdon As cold as it is, it would have been a good morning for biscuits and gravy. Jussayin'

Thanks for the suggestion!

I'm taking a break, having a snack and a cuppa.

I've made a lot of progress this morning, but there more is still so much to do! I have to empty and arrange the chest freezer to try to make room, before I can continue. I don't even want to look at the mess in the kitchen!!!!

I have to finish it all today. Tomorrow will be another looooong day in town. I'm finally going to have my knee checked out, and Dio will be seeing an eye doctor for the first time in, what?....25 years? Both will be very long appointment. Also, I will see if my new glasses were made right this time. Other stops as well. It makes me tired, just thinking about it!

If you don't see me for a while, don't worry....I'll just be passed out somewhere! 😉

Ran to CVS for my Rx,

Stopped next door at Aldi's for a bit of canned dog food to tide Doggie Delight over until auto delivery. (soon)

Avocados 59 cents a piece, bought 3. Two for guacamole and once for avocado toast. One in ref, 2 ripening in paper bag.

Got a few tomatoes, cilantro, scallions and some caramel gelato, bread for the freezer and salmon also. I see eggs sneaking up in price, so picked up a doz. @ $1.92. can of tuna and a lb of tortellini. Cheddar.

My ground beef which was frozen flat had thawed, so I slapped in into the pan and cut into 3rds. One made a nice burger for my lunch, a small piece went in to dog bowl as a treat, and will make a small chile for tomorrow.

My city got 4.67 " of rain overnight. There is some flooding. It's warm, tho'; 46F. The snow is greatly reduced. More rain on the way.

Talking of eggs, I like to buy mine from the local farm..or farm shop but sometimes I have to buy them at the supermarket...

depending on the type of eggs..free range, caged, barn eggs.. etc.. will denote the price.. but the average supermarket free range is about £2.10 per doz... ..yesterday I got Duck eggs for the first time in ages.. £3.75 for 6...

Today was another challenging one for walking. Some areas/sidewalks are well cleaned. Other areas I have to shuffle across to get to the next clear patch. When the road is better than the sidewalks, I walk there. Very cold weather is moving in. This has been the mildest winter we’ve experienced here and spring, summer and fall were the driest. I hate to wish for snow but we desperately need it.

Today has been a very stressful one for reasons I'm not prepared to write here.. the results of this will continue for some time to come .... and won't be pleasant... however all of us have to ride a disjointed and broken down life train at some point in our lives, and we can only hope the thing doesn't fall apart before we reach the safety of the station..
