Nice weather yesterday and today! Might make a quiche and visit the over-priced garden center. 🪴
I make a quiche myself... at least one every few weeks. I put in a lot of onions, thin bell pepper slices & diced mushrooms, all sautéed in butter. Multiple cheeses.

With the eggs in a blender, I put in some yogurt, a little bit of strong brewed coffee, and savory (for back flavors). I serve it to guests. They like it.

Sunny again with low humidity. Yay. Flowers have been deadheaded and watered. I don't feel like doing anything more.

It was a day at the mine. A s l o w day. Why? Because there were no products available to bake. Not my problem since I'm not authorized to order them. Oh, well.

Then our printer/label machine decided to quit printing anything down the center of the label. There's no number to call for service and no one at the store who had a clue. This contributed to having not much to do since we couldn't label anything we'd done and, therefore, couldn't put it on the shelves. Oh, well.

I had time to try to clean the oven. Only try? Well, since I wasn't there last week, it didn't get cleaned. Two weeks without cleaning a stainless steel oven is a bad idea. It took a good bit of effort to get it only sort of clean. Oh, well.

New girl came in at 6 and is scheduled until 2. I left at 9. Sir gets there at 11. WTH was he thinking that she'd do for two hours? Alone. She's been there a week. Oh, well.

Does this come under the heading "Quiet Quitting"? Oh, well.

Yesterday, took 2 hour walk as my exercise. Today is also sunny and beautiful, so I must get out again! Am drinking in this gorgeous weather while I still have it. I cherish every day of summer weather. It might soon get very much hotter & more humid, but I don't care, as long as it is sunny.

Might do a load of laundry too.

Got the microwave up for sale and listed on the local sellers App... I also put onto FB, blimey looks like the whole world are trying to sell their microwaves... probably because they're using Airfryers instead. However until an AF can reheat my tea I'll be keeping my microwave.. :D

I also got all my windowsills and blinds cleaned this morning upstairs...

I've got all the packaging flattened and into the recycle bin...

....then I peeled 5 pounds ( 2.5 kilos).. of Spuds, which are cooking now.. and I'm going to mash them and freeze them... ...

BTW..I have to tell you, I was rolled up laughing in the kitchen just now. I needed to know something so rather than come upstairs to my computer, I asked Siri on my phone.. Well I never think to ask Siri anything because I have the other AI appliances in my house... but I fell about laughing when I said ..''Siri..''... and it replied.. '' Uhuh ''...

Not Hello.. or how can I help... but a very teenage reply......''uhuh''...:ROFLMAO:

Will leave soon to pick up meds and then head for my local park to read this month's Book Club "Tabloid City" by Pete Hamill, one of the greatest New Yawkers ever. I'll find the sunniest bench in the kids' area so I can delight in their joyful screaming. A short walk will be involved. I promised my surgeon I would walk, walk, walk as much and as often as I can!

After months of agonizing pain, I am so thrilled not to have it anymore! I enjoy every step.

Apropos Mash & Freeze: lightly spray a muffin tin, fill each cup, freeze. Then turn out and put portions in a plastic zip bag and pop back into the freezer. One heaping muffin cup is about one generous serving.

When making mine, I don't use milk or cream. Instead use sour cream, some cream cheese and butter.

You're welcome.

That does sound good! I'm eating hummus I made and pita chips. It's good too! 😊

Anyone else already started getting 2025 calendars and monthly planners in the mail from your banks, charities you exposed decades ago and stopped giving to, and ones that still have some credibility, etc?

Some of these have beautiful monthly pictures, but how many does one need? Do you use paper calendars any more anyway?

I usually offer them to my older neighbors. I never hurts to have one up somewhere around the house. But as of today I already have 3 calendars and 2 planners... with more almost certainly on the way.

Today I also pitched out a pile of certificates from my employer. "Five years of service, 10, 15, etc." as well as more awarded on successful completion of big projects or interstate and international collaborations. Fancy embossed vellum, heavy sturdy paperboard cover folders - into the trash they go. I'll keep the pins and medals, they don't take space and the plating hasn't peeled or corroded or anything. Some of those go back to high school Latin Club pins. The pinback coin from the Royal Bahamas Police Force is attractive and even seems to be heavily gold plated.

But not even my kids show any interest in this stuff. I'll look for a small wooden chest with clasp to hold the pins and such, class rings, my old white gold wedding band, a silver pocket watch I was awarded back in the day, etc.

My brother, John came home yesterday to attend his 50th high school reunion,he went to a private school. He wasn't; planning on doing this but his BFF/classmate ,Randy asked him to come to the reunion. There were 94 students in their class, he told me about 40 showed up
This morning John came to see my new apt was impressed how much better it is compared to my other one. The other reason why I'm glad he came, he finally met my close friends, Marcia&Dave, we went out to breakfast together, great time together. His flight back to NYC left at 1pm
It made my day

I would never put cream cheese in my mash..for one I don't like it..but secondly mashed potato with butter is fattening enough....

I tore my bunny's whole cage apart. Cleaned every bit of it. Put new boxes (for the flooring so he don't walk on wire flooring) in it and then the regular bedding that I change daily. It was a big job. I was glad to do it when I saw he fell asleep not far from where I was sitting while doing it. He looked so sweet and I thought how much he trusts me to take care of him. I cleaned it really good.

I did my laundry earlier. My new neighbor who lives down the hall needed help using the washing machines and dryer. So I could not put off my laundry any longer. Still have another load to do in the morning.

Now I am fixing crunchy chicken thighs for supper.

yes I never could stand cream cheese... but even normal cheese doesn't go in..... or cream.. I put butter in but only skimmed milk
You know, even store (Ore Ida) frozen mashed potatoes are good. I was surprised. Not as good as homemade but decent in a pinch.
I may have missed the cream cheese in @Georgiagranny s mashed. I read sour cream. That's what sounded good to me. Cream cheese may cut be a bit heavy but I would try it.
I have some baby potatoes and I'm thinking of baking them pounding them down flat, topping with cheese, bacon bits, green onion, whatever and re-roasting them. I've seen it on YouTube. Looks good.
