How is your day Today, plans and achievements 2024....

First I want to mention yesterday, which was very productive. I went down in the middle of the night and did a double load of laundry. I walked to the grocery store to pick up a few things around 9:00 and was home in 35 minutes. I didn't start drying the clothes until 11 hours after I washed them. I was bending up in down to put them in and take them out of my dryer, so I feel I also that with those activities, I got my exercise for the day. I also had a lovely conversation with my granddaughter. She's so busy all the time with school and work, I hardly get to talk with her.

Today I wet Swiffered the bathroom and kitchen floors. My son was supposed to do it last night, but misunderstood and only dry Swiffered. He said he prefers to mop the floors and would do it today, but I'd rather not deal with a damp mop sitting around. Instead I had him get up the caked litter stuck to the floor behind the pedestal sink and commode. I loaded and ran the dishwasher, dusted in the living-dining area and played my games. I'll watch T.V. in a little while.

My wife baked a most delicious lemon pie but with so many calories.
It includes a whole can of sweetened condensed milk = 1,300 calories.
I have difficulties limiting myself to eat only a little piece every day to avoid gaining weight.

Oh man! I wish I had a piece! I know it's hard to control yourself when something is so delicious. 😛

Oh, my. Right now it's 38F. That's only supposed to last for about another hour, then start plunging and get very windy. Eeek. I hope we don't lose power. The forecast has moved the winter storm warning into our county with maybe a little sNOw and some ice.

Time to get moving. The 🥐 🥐 await. I wonder if people will even bother to be out today or if they cleared the shelves of bread, milk, TP and beer yesterday.

Morning all folks!!!! I'm here again...was up att 2am with
very itchy foot....still a little itchy, but what the heck....it is
only -5DEG F here, but hey the sun is showing today...
No plans except to stay warm...got about an inch of new snow down on everything, may call for guy to clean my drive so I can get some eats delivered.....I' m already tired of winter !!!
;)

At this point I'm just sitting out the cold making sure it doesn't damage things. We expect a warmup after the weekend, and before that I might not be doing much but a pharmacy run and ongoing snow removal.

To stave off Winter boredom I acquired a primitive musical instrument to try to become tolerable at. Nothing fancy, just one of those cheap ceramic ocarinas. Maybe I can learn a passable "Popeye The Sailor Man" in honor of @OldFeller :ROFLMAO:

DD's dogs went home yesterday afternoon. Love the puppy; glad he's back in his own house.

Over 30 years ago I made a hard and fast rule: no more puppies. They're adorable, that's a given. But like human babies (which I'd already stopped having) they're labor intensive, destructive, don't always sleep through the night, put things in their mouths that they shouldn't, don't reliably potty when and where we expect, and are apt to bite now and then.

Adopting slightly older dogs is more in my wheelhouse. Also, love my grands, but don't have the energy to raise them 24/7.

Speaking of grands, toddler GS will be here today. Yippee! Weather should be very nice at 71°, so we'll get in a few walks and maybe an errand or two. ❤️

Yesterday I got 10k steps without taking a walk. While the dogs were getting beautiful I went to Walmart and got almost 4K steps there. I needed some cleaning supplies as well as a few things so I could paint.

Our weather is sunny around 50 so will definitely walk today. This is actually typical for a Reno winter which is why I like winter here. About every 5 years we get a real winter and everyone complains 🤣. My plan is to get the first coat of paint on the vanity and do some laundry. A friend is bringing me lunch at 1:30.

It's 29 here with a wind chill of 17, and the sun is shining. Boy oh boy, the weatherdudes got it wrong for sure. Nobody said a word about sunshine, and the wind is strong enough that the roads have dried. Gonna be a tropical 12 when I go to work tomorrow morning.

I was surprised that so many people were out and about this morning, lots of them even before the rain stopped. By the time I left at noon, it was as though it was just another day.

What a day. dealing with all things in the murky world of the legal eagles... very emotionally draining....

Computer needed updating today and for the life of me I couldn't get it to start again.. I was in a bit of a panic... just couldn't figure out what the problem was.. and I needed to get important websites and phone numbers... but after about 2 hours I finally managed to get it going..goodness know what the problem is with it when it updates

Had to deal with a beech who think my business is theirs... there's always one... *sigh*

Admit I'm scared of taking CT Scan this Thursday.
Pepper, just wanted to check in on you, did your appointment go well? Most techs won't disclose anything and you most likely have to wait for results to go through the doctor. I know when my husband had scans, MRIs, blood work we were on the edge of madness to get the results.

I am sure everything is good. You have not spoken about any illness or pain that gives concern. I know the days you feel bad maybe just do to anxiety. I suffer from that and have panic attacks. I can finally know what is happening, the chest pain, difficulty breathing often is a symptom of my panic attacks.

I have learned to lay down and ask myself, is this different from my panic attacks? Do the recovery methods I have learned helped. I manage to talk myself down when I think I am having a heart attack.

I know you are like me to some extent. You live alone and don't want to bother anyone, so we have to know our body to know the difference between panic and real concerns. Not fun, but we can do it. I will not hesitate to call 911 if I feel that is not just a episode of my anxiety. Hugs to you, I know it will be a hard wait for the doctor to call.

Well, if you went to a super Walmart...you took a walk! :ROFLMAO:

Re the OP: Today I did a little this and a little that....nit picky things that had to be done such as refilling containers, rearranging stock to fit a 13 pound bag of cat food in a cool spot (hidden in our living room), putting other items away including the few pieces left of the laundry I did last week. I finished watching 40 Days and 40 Nights, one of the B movies I started weeks ago and continued watching Godzilla: King of the Monsters. I could have sworn I saw that in the theater with my son and two of my grandchildren, but I'm not remembering these scenes!

Of course, as usual I played Words With Friends and Cody Cross off and on throughout the day. Got my playlist queued 🎧 🎶🎶 and I'm getting ready to dance right now for at least a half an hour so that I don't get scolded by my BFF. I told her to stay on me about exercising and she's doing just that.

Well, I danced for 22 minutes longer than I had planned, for a total of 52 minutes. This is the longest I've exercised in a day since I started back a week ago. I'd like to make it one hour each day, at least 5 days a week, like I did when I was going to Planet Fitness. I love listening to music with the earbuds, you can hear so much more and dancing is fun. Dancing will probably be the exercise I do most often.

The son can't get by right now so I will put off cooking the half ham. I did have a wonderful dinner of beef filet, baked potato and asparagus. I had all that on hand that I purchased before Christmas. The asparagus was only ,99lb. I had eaten some of it but had about 8 spears lelt. I was so shocked they were still as fresh as the day I got them at Kroger.

I am going to go ahead and pull a couple of chicken breast from the freezer to make Chicken and Dumplings. This will be a good easy dish to share with the widow across the street. She is in her early 80s but is still recovering from lung cancer, she never smoked, I just still can't imagine. I did make that pumpkin pie so will take her a couple of slices of pie.

My Mom lived just around the corner so I would often take food around to her. I must have looked quite funny walking up the sidewalk with a pot, or a jar and plastic containers. Gosh, I miss my Mom and seeing her face light up when I took her favorites around.

By email I am sending each of you a packet of "Southern California Air" to warm you up.
Oh, thank you! I'd be glad for half of that 71. No, wait, I'd be thrilled for a third of it. Presently it's 9 degrees here and I seriously need more coffee. Had a cup when I got up at 4 but it didn't stay hot very long. 🥶 My agenda today... nothing. Nothing at all. All the snow from yesterday has turned to solid ice, so it's a good day for staying under a blanket! With cocoa.... yeah, now that sounds like a plan!
