The gas in the hydraulics which makes lifting the base to get to the storage as light as a feather.. has depleted, and this happens a lot with Ottoman beds after a few years and so the base is very heavy and impossible for me to lift to open it to use as storage.. this is another reason, I cannot dismantle this.

I wouldn't want to get a random handyman into my bedrooms... that's not something I'd be looking to do... so I'll have to ask on my local town forum and see if anyone has any ideas...

yes I have considered this in the past..
You should also say that they’re heavy and they must have their own truck and manpower to do the lifting. If I’m selling something, I always tell them before they come to pick it up. You can’t (though I’m sure you can) believe how many people ask for something free and expect it to be delivered.

Oh I know I've learned a lot from selling on Ebay for the last 23 years

~Exercise today was “biking” and using the EZ Krunch. I can really feel it working on my abs and arms.
~Will load and run the dishwasher then watch T.V.

~My dear friend Hunter called this afternoon. His “gigs”calendar is very full , but he promised to get back to working on our joint project. He gave me such a nice compliment that made me feel really good. He’s been in the music business for more than 50 years, has performed on the same bills as well known artists, won 7 Emmys (not Grammys) for his songwriting and has recorded songs from the classics to R &B to Gospel.

With all of his years of exposure and experience, he said I’m the only female musician-composer he knows who has taken music production to the levels that I have. We are fans of each other’s music, that's for sure. I also love that he has immense respect and admiration for my son’s engineering/music production skills.

@hollydolly Did you really mean to write that your house was only 12 degrees?! Is that C or F? Do you have electric blankets?
yes 12 deg F, Diva...no I don't have electric blankets tho', I am wearing 4 layers on top tonight, and 2 layers below, and I have a fleece blanket next to me to put over my legs when I'm sitting here... I've just made a Hot water bottle, and put it into my bed as I do every night, because it's very cold in the bed when I get in ... like getting into an iced bath.. so I put the bottle in a couple of hours before bed , and wrap my pyjamas around it..

OMG!!!! 🥶 Why the heck is it so cold in your house? Would you consider buying an electric blanket? I have an electric thow but only used it a couple of times. Please do stay warm and well.

No I wouldn't consider buying an electric blanket... I don't like to get overheated in bed ( no sniggering at the back please).. I bought an electric throw for my husband a few years ago because he used to suffer terribly with freezing feet in bed.. but it didn't get very warm...

The reason my house is so cold is that since the start of the Russia/Ukraine war our Utility prices have tripled... and without going into a long spiel, I simply cannot afford to heat the house as well as have all the electrics on that I need as well...

Just got word that our long-time caller for the square dance group to which I used to belong has passed away... He was so patient with us, lots of fun. The funeral is Monday in the afternoon, I may leave work in Americus (I will work the weekend) and drive to the city where it's being held.

That's terrible HD. I had no idea utility prices had gone up that much! I hope you have an Indian summer so you can get some relief.

My wife is not a Luddite, but is not as tech savvy as me, and she had a smartphone that would not ring. I tried everything I could, and no luck. I called tech service and spent over an hour with them and nothing helped. At one point the tech asked if there was someone else in the house he could talk to.
That really pissed me off. I told him I was a graduate EE with 50 years experience and did not want to be talked to like that.

In the end, I ordered a Samsung phone that arrived today. DW and I spent an hour or so getting it set up, and she was able to call, receive calls, send and receive texts.
I updated her contacts, and she pointed out I did not have my smartphone listed in contacts (oops).
We celebrated with a shared IPA. She is not much of a beer drinker, but I found I had a mini beer stein we picked up in our travels, so that is hers.

I also refilled my three pill cases tonight. I didn't think I was going to get a chance to do it. I usually wait for my son to sit with me so we can talk, but he was very tired after several long days this week. I had to get it done, so instead, I had "my David" to keep me company. :D I love David Muir of World News Tonight, so watched last night's broadcast on Hulu.

Although our dental appointments were cancelled yesterday, we still had to go and buy some groceries. It also gave us the opportunity to look in a furniture store because we want a new suite for the lounge. We did see one that we really liked, the only trouble was the price - it was 50% more than the cost of our first house! Albeit that was 50 years ago.

The snow is melting and the roads are pretty clear, so we might go to another couple of stores this morning. Sale prices end in a week, so I'f we see something we like and can afford, we'll order it this coming week.

Morning....i am up way too early at 4am or so....temp is -1F..
dunno if it will warm much today, think we start warming more
on monday...the kids around here are getting tired of snow days...thats a switch....I've got aches and pains all over it seems...
ah well....take care...be back later....

It is 8 degrees here at 6:30 AM, and they project minimal snow today and tomorrow, with lots of clouds.
I heard that stamps are going up again I and might try to get to the PO before they close at noon today.

Yesterday I made some really good chicken noodle soup , enough for today and to freeze some.
And I managed to go through my fridge freezer to make sure I keep the frozen food moving-and maybe I can get to my upright freezer today. I love vegetables and freeze them-fresh tomatoes, par cooked parsnip slices, fresh string beans par cooked, and even parsley-it cost so much here that this is a saving for anyone who likes fresh parsley in soups and sauces.
