oh okay....got a funny about Canadian Bacon, when my lady
was coming down from toronto to visit me in missouri I asked
to bring some canadian bacon along, well she did, but it was
same type bacon we have here LOL...guess the customs people
gave her a funny look also LOL....
Has anybody commented yet? Anyways, it's often called "back bacon" up here.

There's a baked product called "English muffin" in North America. I read some commentary about everyday life in Britain, in which it was said there's no "English muffin" in England. Turns out the product we know over here is a sort of poor interpretation of the English crumpet.🙃

YAY...the fox showed up out back, was eating some french fries
I had thrown out, so as easy as i could I threw out some
"treated" hot dogs, and after running away abit came back to eat!!!!
Then I threw out some more dogs and I believe he ate them also....he
seems to be getting some hair back, but he is very thin.......

On the first trip where we took the boys into Ontario they got quite a giggle from breakfast menus featuring "peameal" bacon. Surprisingly, I've found that a great deal of this "Canadian bacon" is produced in the US and packed in Detroit shipped raw for export. Actual Canadian bacon is a US product, always precooked, primarily consumed domestically, and not Canadian at all.

however we do have muffins which look like ''fairy cakes''.. and they are always described with their flavour ie... Chocolate chip muffin..or Blueberry muffin...

Thanks Holly. Now this does put another spin to my understanding. Because these do look like what are sold over here (Canada & the US) as "English muffins"... except here, they're alway sold pre-sliced, between the top & bottom. They're unsweetened. Also, I have no idea whether the same flour is used as with the ones you've shown. I'm pretty sure the ones sold here are yeasted, rather than baking-powder leavened.

there's yeast in the muffins. depending on what brand you buy they're sometimes already split...

Crumpets don't have yeast instead they have baking soda

Muffins are cooked on both sides while crumpets are only cooked on one side.. both Muffins and Crumpets if you're making them at home should only have a little tiny bit of sugar added to the mix.. they are a savoury rather than a sweet bread.. and should be served warm with butter

I would sooner hold out until winter when they all go home.
well yes we used to do that..we'd not go anywhere near beaches during the summer school break.. but now we have so many people ''working from home'' aka working from the beach..the restaurant , the coffee house, the mall....loads unemployed... thousands of boat people... that the only time beaches like Bournemouth are empty is literally when it's cold or raining..

I walked to the post office to finally mail the RMD check to St. Jude; it’s been here for a month. Then it was on to the Amazon hub. When I left there I decided to pick up a few items from the supermarket since I was in the area.

I adjusted my brokerage beneficiary designations. I'm glad that can easily be done online. I put photos of them on my two external drives. I took time to crop out the sensitive information before putting the photos in Google photos trash. I do that because photos stay in trash for 60 days and I don't want that sensitive information sitting in my Google account..

I made a mistake and the updatedd business folder into the recycle bin. It took more time than I expected to restore it and put it on the second drive. I also ate too much ice cream 🍨🍨 and took two naps today.
😴😴

It's Friday I feel like getting out today.
What to do, what to do? 🤔
Come over here and plant all these flowers that DD made me buy yesterday?

It's gonna be hot again today, then temps in the mid- to upper-80s for the next week or so. If we're lucky, they'll stay that way, and the brutal heat of summer will be gone. 80s are fine by me!

If you need me to crack the whip over those who are out of control, find me in the garden...

I went down to the laundry room this morning. My son took the bag down for me on his way to work at 3:40 a.m. (every little bit helps). By 4:30 I had finished washing and was back upstairs. The double loaders increased by 25 cents a couple of months ago, but that's alright because it's still a lot cheaper than laundromats in the area. I started drying the clothes at six o'clock after eating breakfast, much earlier than I usually start.
It is my intention to put everything away today (most is bath linens) since I'm trying to do a better job of keeping up with things.

@OneEyedDiva Your granddaughter is really lucky to be learning wise financial management from a smart lady.
Thank you Jules❣️ One of her assignments for this week was to find an apartment she'd like (if she wasn't living on campus), figure out how much it would cost up front to move in, including security deposit and furniture, etc., then figure out how much she'd need to save per paycheck to be able to pay that amount. I think it was an eye opener for her and she realizes she has to trim her spending even more (she can be a spendthrift). She also realized that she'll need to leave campus six months earlier than she originally thought after finishing her masters program in 2026.

Beautiful sunny day , that strong wind from yesterday has dropped.. temps are at a comfortable 73 deg

I've got 2 deliveries to wait in for today... but I've got to be home to do other things anyway so I don't mind.

I'm happy he had a meal. Bless you @hawkdon.

If I'm gonna do that I'll do it over here! 😊 No, I need a day vacation.
