Sourdough baking day. I also made a big blueberry pancake in the oven.
Moved some more Solomon Seal to the back where the vinca died off. The vinca is slowly coming back but that's ok. May the best plant win.
Oh, and DH is fighting with the bathroom floor now. Nothing is ever easy. Mistakes from past contractors who are not craftsmen.

Whew, just took a dish of eggplant parmigiana out of the oven. Took forever to get it assembled; I made more than last time. I think I'm getting slower as well. It smells so good but way too hot to taste.

I hate the clean up.... breadcrumbs all over, no matter how I try not to, sauce splashes, pans, frying etc. Finally finished vacuuming the floor.
I know that feeling... sigh. I do a lot of cooking... and not simply heating quickie food from a supermarket. And I wind up cleaning the counter & stovetop after, plus I'm also the household dishwasher. shrug half.jpeg

At least I don't do all the cooking in the household.

Got brain MRI results yesterday, and as I predicted was inconclusive as to why I shake sometimes, and sometimes badly. My head shaking right now, tho not my hands. Not Parkinson's. No major strokes. No tumors. BUT. Seems I had a stroke within the last six years since last MRI done. It was small, doc said, and is not the cause of shaking but perhaps explains balance problems. Normal brain for an old lady in terms of wear & tear.

Got rattled & depressed to learn I had a stroke. Makes me feel even more vulnerable than I already do.
I'm so sorry you are going through this Pepper! I know it's tough not having definitive diagnoses for our ailments. I'm glad it's not Parkinson's though.

It sounds like you may have had a TIA, sometimes called a mini stroke. My honorary daughter has had at least three of them, the last a couple of months ago and she still functions very well.. She's also had several medical issues over the years, including a brain aneurysm and several hospitalizations. It amazes me how she's able to be so active.

I have a friend and former co-worker whose head would shake ever since I first met her and that was in 1993. Last time I saw her in 2021 it was still the same.

I hope your next exam provides more information. Take good care . You know I wish the best for you. 🤗

But isn't it so nice to sit down to a meal that tastes the way we want it to?
It's worth it, but eggplant parm has now rotated to the bottom of my list, for awhile. Getting ready for a round of soups, meatballs and homemade pasta sauce for the freezer.

Holy Toledo, it's beyond hot out there! I am sooo jelly of those of you who have cooler temps. By Wednesday, if we're not being lied to again, it'll be a lovely 80, then down to the 70s for the following two weeks. With rain, to boot. Ahhhh. I am done with summer. Done, I tell you.

When those 70-degree days get here, I'm gonna break out the soup and casserole recipes because when the weather turns in the fall Drop, I head to the kitchen and cook. Comfort food. And I don't give a rip if nobody likes that stuff but me. Then I eat everything that's not nailed down, like fried cabbage and hamburger soup and other stuff from the olden days.

Maybe I'll even get a wild hair and make bread 🍞, cut off the heels on all three loaves while it's still warm, slather them with butter and stuff them in my face :ROFLMAO: while scarfing down the aforementioned fried cabbage.

DGD has been promising to make pork chops for supper for the past three days and insists that today will really be the day because DSIL is off today...so a real meal. Like a meal served at table with plates and stuff. She might actually do it since her BF is spending the day with us.

Do I sound like I haven't eaten in the past week? LOL

Well, I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer this afternoon...

Church was great and then my older daughter and I went clothes shopping with (11 yo) granddaughter... We are both exhausted but she found some things she liked that fit, so it's all good.

Now I have to somehow stay awake til bedtime, lol

As I get older, I find that more and more difficult.

If I feel tired at 8pm.. and I go to bed then, I'll be awake at 3am... but if I try to stay awake until bedtime, I can;t.. and then I fall asleep, and am up half the night...

Well,, guess you can say I gave myself half of a haircut.🙃🙃🙃
Back of neck looks good as hubby helped get it straight..

My right side doesn't curl as much as the left.
So I cut about half way up.
Remember the poor kids with the Bowl hair cut ?
Almost did one of those.:D:eek:

Left side isn't cut as much as right.
Didn't touch the top with the razor,, just hit miss snips.

I've been spoiled by my friend cutting my hair.🥰
Have no idea which beauty shop in town to go to.

Do you find yourself asking, "Is it too early to go to bed? " I'm asking myself that right now. 😊

How is my day? Strange, very strange. Suddenly I feel vulnerable and mentally beat up, you know? Like everything exists on the finest of threads. You, me, my dog, the sky, the trees near my home - all existing in a world that could wipe them away for no good reason. And there I am, among it all, small and insignificant. Felt like this all day. Has been a strange day.

In the middle of the night, which has become my most productive time, I put away the rest of the items I got from Walmart. I had to slightly rearrange stock in my living room storage tote and hassock, as well as in the storage closet. I watched a couple of movies, finished one. When my son got home this afternoon, we had brief studio time so I could listen to what he did with spacing the songs for the album. It was an easy process and only a couple of tweaks were necessary.

@Georgiagranny You mentioned not having much space when I posted about not putting my laundry away. What is the square footage of your apartment? Are you able to put your empty laundry basket in a place you can't put it when clothes are in it? Just curious. I believe our apartment is around 700 sq ft. I can't remember if that includes closet space. I keep my laundry basket (empty or not) on one of the chairs in the bedroom. My son sleeps in there and never uses that chair. Sometimes when its empty, I stick it in the storage closet.

@OneEyedDiva The Hovel is just a hair under 300sf. It's small. If I want to change my mind, I have to step outside:ROFLMAO: and don't dare fart or it would ricochet off a wall and I'd suffocate. There's a walk-in closet where I stash the laundry basket.
Wow! You live in a bona fide tiny house. That size probably wouldn't even hold all my clothes and my instrument. 😃 I bet it's cute though.

@OneEyedDiva A contractor that DD had at her house one day came over and looked at The Hovel and declared that it was an incredibly efficient use of space. Cute? Yup, especially if you're a Lilliputian:)

It's gonna be another hot day today. Yesterday's high was 99. It was so hot that even the sunpatiens objected and wilted. Mother Nature is just not paying attention. Today is supposed to be only 94.

This morning I'm off to the credit union to get a new debit card after a screw-up, mostly my own fault :(. It's annoying because I've had this same card number since time began. Sigh.

The credit union is right across the street from Kaiser-Permanente so I'm gonna see if I can get the flu vaccine and covid booster while I'm over there. The website says they take walk-ins so worth a try.
