Back in April I was sick and got an extension on my income taxes. Well the six months is up October 15. Today I gathered all my scraps and mess and took it to the CPA. I just have not been able to concentrate. It might have something to do with my 14 medications (and not a one is for pain). It does feel good to let someone else worry about it for a while.

I totally understand, we often become overwhelmed between being ill and the massive amount of concentration to handle all the normal things of day to day life. I am ready to let the son take care of things that are becoming to much of a challenge.

I can handle the normal everyday bills, they are set up on auto pay, I more need help with property taxes and income tax,

Morning all folks!!!Up at 3am for some unknown reason!! Too
early....too cool also, had to put on a thermal top, as I won't turn
the furnace on yet....no plans yet, brain not really awake, only
first cuppa.....catch u later on.....

yes the house is mine so I don't have any worries about losing it in the divorce, he never put his name on the deeds.. never asked to actually.. thank God.. but the house in Spain is a different matter that has to go sadly..

You're so so right when it comes to all the work that's been put into my house over the years.

Funnily enough I was thinking that when I was looking at the flat, I was thinking just how basic it was.. and the nerve of the owner wanting to take the door handles... and I thought of just how much more luxurious my house is, how all the work that has been put into it to make it look good and be comfortable to live in.. like as you say, the plumbing, the decor , the electrics.. etc.. .. and it really made me think , that I can't settle for just anything, because I won't personally be able to make a basic home into the luxury that is my home.. so whatever I choose I'll have to at least have something that's close to this..
Shame that the flat was so disappointing but, on the other hand, it seems to have helped you appreciate what is important to you. Your house is lovely but, in time, you will likely want to downsize and be nearer to things but, you have time to find your next home and, when you do, it should be a place where you want to live. The flat sounds horrible but, there are lovely flats too and it is a shame that the estate agent did not show you some nicer alternatives. A smaller house and garden would probably be an easier move for you but, of course, the nicer the area, the more expensive these things are.

well the thing is this flat was in a very expensive area.. but at a price I could afford...
I don't want a house because my sole reason for moving is that my osteoarthritis in my knees is getting more pronounced, and it's painful sometimes even now to climb the stairs, so I want something all one floor.. otherwise I would just stay in this house..

Got new debit card and got shot. One in each arm. I'm good to go.

My lawn is getting crunchy, but we're supposed to get rain of biblical proportions by Wednesday from Hurricane Helene and last for days. Should I believe it or should I water?

ETA: watering as we speak
They think you're going to get it. We might get some but not like the last one. And, go to the store before all the bread is gone. 😉

It's out there, somewhere. Hope it turns up soon!

Probably at a price you could afford because they knew it wasn't that nice. Not worth living with dark and dampness. You will find one. That one wasn't meant for you.

Good Morning. I'm getting a dental crown today. My teeth should be all good for now.
I probably ate a lot of candy as a child and didn't practice great dental care. Also, our family dentist was one for big deep fillings. They started breaking down in my twenties and the military refilled them and added pins to hold them together. Some were more filling than tooth. Anyway, over the years they've been crowned as able. I'm grateful I still have teeth.
My Mom got dentures early. Any dental care went to her children. 😒

Not hotter today, only hot.

I have no idea what, if anything, is on today's agenda.

I want to get some soup ingredients in anticipation of the cool and rainy weather headed our way. Like frozen meatballs and pinto beans and other canned or frozen veggies.

And bread flour and yeast and honey to make bread.

There's a long list.

Today I'm having ahuge problem with my MAC. I don't know what's wrong with it. I deleted Firefox because i thought that might be causing the problem.. but I'd forgotten that much of the websites I use are attached to firecfox, so they won't open .. unless I use a different browser...an that means trying to remember the passwords..which I can't for most of them

It really needs an expert to come in and have a look at this, because i just can't seem to to get it fixed myself..

On my early walk at 6:40, temp was 65 ,cloudy as I walked twice around building complex which I do every day before breakfast
Today,I've invited 2 church members for lunch who are sisters, Cricket&Zandy, known them for yrs Their mom,Mary Kent&my mom were childhood friends, grew up together. Their birthdays were 2 days apart in Dec,same age. When my parents moved to a retirement community in Hanover, NH in '92, my mom asked Mary Kent&her hubby,Ted to take care of me when needed since I had no family members living here. For yrs,I would come to their 'family Xmas Eve dinners at their house or Cricket's
Cricket&Zandy told me at church Sun,they were excited to see my apt and have lunch with me . We affectionately call each other'Sis' look forward to seeing them
The rest of my day read NYT,go for afternoon walk{ weather permitting} dinner at 5:30 in dining room with another resident, Connie and whom ever else she invited. This evening, tackle daily NYT crossword puzzle, read my book

Yesterday we made chow, chow and bottled it up. What’s chow chow you may ask? Chow chow is an Eastern Atlantic Coast recipe for uses up all the ‘green’ tomatoes that don’t have time to properly ripen and it’s delicious. It’s similar to a relish or chutney. The spices are put into cheesecloth and left to season it. I didn’t except it to be as delicious as it is.

Today we are canning red tomato sauce which will later be made into spaghetti sauce.
It was left to slow cook last night. IMG_6021.jpeg
We just picked another 5.5 pounds of green tomatoes to make into another chutney/ relish

The ripe chocolate cherry tomatoes will be eaten by us as is. Some will be used in salad. They are so good. Can’t add any more pictures.

Soon I’m going for a walk and then coming back to clean up my bike and put it away into the box it came in. It’s getting picked up tomorrow. The box is huge. I’m so glad we chose this method instead of driving 7 hours.

Have a nice day everyone.

What a day I had yesterday!! Dio and I took my Mom into town so that she could run some errands. It was all good, but I came home exhausted! My Mom wears me out!!

It's hard to believe that she is 92 years old, since she refuses to act her age!!!

I have pinto beans soaking and pre-made cornbread mix in the frig. 🍛

How frustrating! I feel for you since having gone through that myself recently. I had to have someone fix it for me and he even fixed my old computer that I thought was not any good anymore. So now I am using two. Hope you can find someone who can help you. Hard when you are on your own.
