@Teacher Terry Dang! the word is sNOwy!!! You're right. 200-300" of sNOw from October 1-May1 is entirely too much. 2-3" is too much.
That is the fun part!Good morning, all!A chilly (for us), mostly sunny, 64° high today. Not that I've got any outdoor plans. A little more baking on today's to-do list, but DH & I will mostly be readying everything and spiffing up the house for tomorrow's party.
After that, I want to make the last batch of Kahlua Fudge.![]()
It is windy! We may end up in Kansas!
...I see happy hour, hot tub and a movie on the horizon![]()
The Kahlua Fudge is sinfully good!!! All of my friends at the rink have been asking if I was going to bring any this year! It's also easy to make.Oh MY: Kahlua Fudge that really sounds interesting! Where may I find the/your recipe?
My DH has been fighting some sort of stomach flu. I got my flu shot last month but he failed to go get his, so now he is suffering the consequences.
Here is hoping you don't catch what Dio has, sorry to hear.
Zinc also seems to help boost defense, keep away colds, etc; along with the C.
wow...well done Hawkie..that's a huge saving....Welp, I did it, saved some bucks on the cable-i'net stuff...after
all is done I'll still get my current channels and internet hookup
for $75.00 LESS per month!!! And I may go to VOIP landline
which would save me another 55 LESS per month....not bad
for a friday 13th!!!
can't stand fruit cake..especially if it has Glace cherries in it...Was going to start thread about home made fruit cake,,, but I think the cooking forum is where I should post?
For giggles or hates...... who likes , dislikes Fruit Cake?
Any one make there own fruit cake at sometime?
I agree! Dinner out! Well, I guess it isn't dinner out! Too cold, especially with joint pain...living in MI cannot possibly help. Maybe if one had a hot tub? LOLwow...well done Hawkie..that's a huge saving....![]()
you;'re right , longer does mean softer.. but you do need to keep it tidy.... and don't drop food in it that's revolting...Too much snow to battle leaves, but too little to need more shoveling.
Bitter cold, from 10 F this morning to about 17 F now, but maybe 95% sunny. So today has been a "solar power experiments" day.
The cold and low sun-angle make it challenging, and the portable battery packs don't really like the cold at all. Right now I have a 100 watt 2-panel array connected to a tiny 26.4 Ah "power station" pack inside a cardboard box sitting on some folded up foam-plastic wrapper from some random appliance box. Sun on the cardboard helps as does not being in contact with the cold ground.
Every half-hour or hour I have to go out and move the panels to face the sun. At least the leaves are on the ground now, giving me more options where I can test.
Letting this beard grow out at least helps keep the face warm outside. And longer means softer and less wirey. I don't know about keeping it past Christmas when my bet is paid off though.
hawkie won't be having dinner out.... he'll be happy with that saving.. and maybe a little less pain in his joints..I agree! Dinner out!
My daughter's family lives in Michigan near his family in Grand Haven. I envy no one living in Michigan from Dec thru April. It is so cold, often windy, snowy and bleak, damp. I wanted to be near my six grands up there, but can only take a week at the most at a time because it feels so dreary and I can't get outside.Too much snow to battle leaves, but too little to need more shoveling.

hawkie is in his 80's....Oh my, joint pain. So sorry to hear.
Yeah, I go through extremes of cleaning paranoia after brushing my teeth or blowing my nose.you;'re right , longer does mean softer.. but you do need to keep it tidy.... and don't drop food in it that's revolting...
Anyway I think you suit the beard tbh![]()
Also have joint pain, so totally understand.hawkie is in his 80's....
sorry that your sister went through such horrors so young, and still paying the price....Also have joint pain, so totally understand.
My sister had chemo back in her 30s and now has such joint pain in her lower back due to chemo destroying her body's ability to reform bone. Aging is challenging in oh, so many ways.
Hug to hawkie.
I do make my own, but I never call it a "Fruit Cake" because of the bad reputation they have! Was going to start thread about home made fruit cake,,, but I think the cooking forum is where I should post?
