Today is my water delivery day so will not be going anywhere. I want to vacuum, dust and do laundry, towels and bedding only. Did the other stuff a few days ago. I bought some meat yesterday that I will be vacuum packing also. Looks like another sunny day! I keep expecting bad weather because this February. I appreciate it though. Have a good day everyone!

Chilly, sunny, day in NW PA.

Hubby & helper are busy in log pile.

I hope I feel good enough to drive myself to town.
Got library books to return, stop at pharmacy,, get few a groceries.

I'd like to wander around town a bit,, think there are couple of new business to check out.
Got birthday cards to granddaughter & my son, to mail.

If I don't get moving part of the above will not get done!

@hollydolly It's been more than 50 years. One of the kids, maybe DS? told me years ago that he overhead an argument between Whatsisname and The Widow when she was whining about me. He said she admitted to Whatsisname that she was jealous of me. What? She pursued. She baited. He bit. She reeled him in. What's to be jealous of? Another time Whatsisname told me "I always did like smart women like you." Meh. Doesn't really matter anymore.

I stayed single for 17 years, then married DH, my childhood sweetheart. We were married just shy of 20 years when he died, and we had a good life together. On Valentine's Day next week, we'd have been married 35 years.
I did similar Gigi... after my divorce I swore off men... then against my better judgement, after 16 years I remarried .. unfortunately not a happy one like yours.. and the battle is currently being fought through the Divorce courts..after 23 years

if I'd stayed married to my first husband it would be our 47th Anniversary in July... thank God I didn't.. I could hardly bear him after 5 years , and even now , I still don't like him..

Morning all folks...!! I'm having trouble typing due to this
darned shakiness.....ah well....it is 55 deg here, what!!!! Going to 65 later today, some slight chance of rain....slept pretty decent
last nite, still need to take care of laundry basket tho, been slow
this week .....had some fun yesterday when groceries were delivered by a blue haired young woman, first thing I notice was her car was blue, then she got out of car with totally blue hair!!!
I told her I liked it and she sortof groaned, and then confessed it was her own doing, but let her significant other purechase the coloring, which he goofed and bought stain instead of
coloring dye, so some of her skin is also blue LOL...we had a good chuckle.....
Just thoutgh of someithing, I am the oldest today that I have
ever been~!~@@@@ ;):D:devilish:

you need to send her to see Gigi... she has blue hair too.. she could teach your grocery lady how to do it...:D

The bed isn't made yet. Must I?

I did clean the litter box, take a shower, eat breakfast. Is that enough progress for one day? Should I vacuum?

The laundry is laundering. Yanno what I did? Horrors! I threw everything in the washer together...whites, colors, towels...all of it.
I always wash everything together, because I use a colour catcher sheet in every wash which catches any dye that might run from colours...

Today is officially Character-Building Day

Call from car repair place this AM. Torque converter delivered but damaged. Reordered. New pick up date is tentatively Monday vs today. So…. Fall back and regroup

Need a car for over the weekend. Tried to get an Uber, apparently none of the two or three drivers in town has their app on lol. Called a taxi. She got me to the car rental place. Where I am informed they only rent cars by appt (🤯) and the next appt is Monday. Hmmmm

So I’m not making it to my book club meeting at the library— dang, I really looked forward to discussing these two books! 😑

Anyway, fortunately the place my son works was less than 1/2 mile from the car rental place, so I walked over there and he’s going to give me a ride home on his lunch break (in about 20 min). He brought me inside and I’m waiting in the break room (which beats sitting on the curb by the gate…. All I needed was a red solo cup 😆)

Here’s to a better Rest-of-the-Day!!

I'm having a great morning. I feel much more centered somehow and cheerful. Things are going well across the board. The sun is shining after a couple of weeks of overcast. It lends a fresh perspective and makes me think of spring which always puts me in a better mood as renewal does.

Another sunny day, and even a warm one at almost 60 F for a change!

Yeah, I let shaving go a couple days again. And I still have lots of baggy clothes to replace, but that's the price of dropping some weight. Don't ask about the knot on my forehead or the wrapped cudgel in the foreground. :ROFLMAO: At least it wasn't red yet when I snapped that picture.

Oh well, back to the grindstone of sorting through stuff and dumping some of it here.

Smiling, hubby came in about time was making the above post.

I hurried to finish it,,.
Just now came on and noticed all my mistakes.

I was upset with hubby,,he pushed over a New bird house, with the backhoe !!!
Its getting close to when Blue birds will be checking nesting boxes.

We stay down to eat,, I looked at him......
Said,,, I made this meal & I don't even feel like eating it.

I put my face in my hands,, sat way for awhile,, before I put food on my plate.

Guess I made hubby guilty,, looked out window.
He & helper put the bird house & its post back up!🥰

Ugh. Just saw that my current cellphone service that was good another 2 weeks was going to cut off service tomorrow. I still can't figure out how that can be so.

At least I had the new service all set up and the new SIM in hand along with the instructions to move my number during activation. So after a bunch of gymnastics to recover data I needed, talk to a human representative, get a new required "app" installed, reset a password... done.

Of course now I have new accounts and passwords and PINs for this, that, and the other thing. And of course new voicemail access procedures.

Funny how much easier it was when you did this by handing your phone to a human at the store. I think once I'm 90 and they demand a stool sample and retinal scan and memorizing some Mongolian chant I may just throw the phone at the nearest brick wall and go live in a home for the dangerously done with it all.

Went back to my project of clearing stuff from the room with the crib in it. I hate throwing books away, but local charities are up to their ears in books and don't want more.

I'll distribute the kids' yearbooks to them, though considering they're all a dozen years or so past HS, if they'd wanted them they probably would have taken them by now. If not, basura!

it's exactly the same here, Star, the charity shops regularly turn books away, they just don't have the space for them. We have the odd specific Oxfam Book shops.. which are cheap being charity but not as cheap they would have been had they been sold by the Charity shops who sell everything..

Recently in a mall near me.. An actual store has opened where everyone can donate their books.. and buyers can choose up to 3 books for absolutely free... and the idea behind it is to save so many books from going to Landfill, and it's entirely run by volunteers, and it's doing brilliantly well..

That’s a brilliant idea. Win/win for book lovers and the mall because they’re attracting folks into the building.

...and of course there a better than most chance that the books that customers get, will be returned again to the store after they've finished with them, and then get more.

I got one last week, it's Political Tome... sadly for me most of the books ( and there's more shelves in there than the library now )... are almost all Fiction... or if the are Non fiction they're mainly cookery books and study books.. so not a lot for me there last week, but maybe next time I go..

Four days of rain (4" at our house, while other places got 13") created this holy mess on our driveway, but we still can drive through the open-ends carport. At age 88, I have no choice but to cleaning it up. My son-in-law will help me after work. In case of an earthquake, I am concerned about the big rock sliding down and damaging the house. So, I obtained already the first estimate to take care of this potential problem for $3K. The "Big >7 Shake" of the San Andreas Fault Line, separating the Pacific Tectonic Plate from the North American one, lies 35 miles away and is overdue. Our house sits on decomposed granite and should survive.
