@holly,, Wow the shipping goofed up big time on their wrapping skills.

Or someone was seeing how far they could toss packages.

I thinking I'd be giving someone an ear full.
A real drag when those sorts of things occur. When they've happened for us, it's always been impossible for anyone to determine who handled what... because of transfers from one truck to another, and/or one warehouse to another along the way. The only consoling aspect is the seller's replacement, or (if we've arranged the shipping) the insurance on the delivery process.

You're right, I;m sure that it was thrown from a high height , possibly in the warehouse and possibly while actually boxed. The inner box which was a bout 2 feet high, was very professionally wrapped, and that was put inside a larger box which had bubble wrap bottom and top... almost impossible for that Vase to get broken inside the double walling from normal handling. ...so my theory is that the first box was thrown around... and of course it would have been spotted that the inside was damaged.

I called , I'm always very nice to customer services, even If I'm peed off.. and I usually always get great service back.. not always... there have been occasions when they've got all 4 barrels from me because of their attitude... but generally speaking.. like today, the customer service lady was laughing, because I;d made her laugh about it all... and that means she'll be in a good mood all day... and I get my replacement with no issues..

Hi, kids. It's another bright, sunshiny day. Yay.

It was a nice day at the 🥐 mine, too. I'm gonna tell ya, though, that those first three hours are killer. Everdamnthang has to be done by 9am, and I'm only one person with only two hands so everdamnthang doesn't get done by 9am. That's what time NL comes in, and once she's there, I can move along pretty quickly. There's no denying that I'm slowing down in my "eld."

The birds are happily swarming their feeder🐦🦅🕊️and will be until the squirrels wake up. When they get too pushy. the birds dive bomb them🤣. It's fun to watch.

Off tomorrow. Yippee. I used to get so freaking bored on the days off; now I look forward to and welcome them. See? Slowing down...

@hollydolly That vase! Omigosh. It looks like the driver of the van threw it from the road while moving along at a reall good clip! At least they're going to send you another.

@hollydolly Are you expected to do a return for the vase or the defective rug? They will be pita to break down dispose of in the regular trash pickup.
No , no return for either item. Both companies told me just to dispose of it as I see fit... the Vase is like a terracotta/clay . so that will break up nicely into the rockery in the garden. The rug will go to the Charity shop...it's brand new... and someone might be able to use it despite the Flaw in the one part of it ..,

Morning folks......here checking in, late due to who knows....just
had to dump 2 half gallons of milk down the drain, both spoiled
just sitting in fridge....dunno why I buy two at a time...ah well..
Had to pay a "conveniece fee" of 15bucks to landlord yesterday because I paid my rent thru the banks system, not the landlords
system..(screammmmmm), oh well....got laundry for later on maybe...crying cuz no one likes my pic in media, boo hoo...
see how I need attention sometimes LOL...did some research on my copd breath meds and it seems it causes all these little annoyance's that are going on, runny nose ( for hours), added aches and pains, sore throat, and yes rash....what the heck....??? ah well....make it a great day okaY?!?! :giggle::p:cool::devilish:
Sad your copd med gives you such side effects! Ask for something else maybe.
I saw your pic, very nice, gave you a ❤️

Drat. I just remembered that Whatsisname's widow and her brother are going to call me this afternoon to discuss plans to send memorabilia, photos and whatever all else. What? What's to discuss? It had already been decided that she would ship it all to DS. Grrrr. DD wants nothing to do with any of it because she feels that The Widow "stole" her dad and he went along with it. Fine. DS wants it and has said so to me and to The Widow.

If she wants to confirm, there's always email, yanno? Oh. Wait. The Widow doesn't "like" using a computer. I don't "like" dealing with her. She's a leftover hippie and never moved past the 70s. Hippie-dippy conversations are annoying. I will be civil, maybe even pleasant.

Think positive thoughts for me at 3pm EST, okay?

Doggie Delight has a 3pm appt. with groomer today.

Tomorrow my GS's wife will come here after work for supper. Will make chicken stew with dumplings and a lettuce and tomato salad.

They are getting married today at 4pm; civil service. The baby is due on the 23rd. , If it's a boy, they've chosen Darius for the name-
Darius the Great

:) If it's a girl, either Leah or Shoshana. My head is spinning.

That's what I worked at yesterday in the morning. About 3:00 in the afternoon, I started making enchiladas for our supper. A lot of ingredients involved. Carefully making the molé sauce takes most of the of time. I had the enchiladas ready by 6:00.

Watched "Florence Foster Jenkins" (with Maryl Streep & Hugh Grant) before bed. We'd seen it before, but it's off-the-chart hilarious, and touching too.
I'm jealous of the homemade enchilada's!

My daughter and I saw FFJ in the theater when it came out and, yes, there was lots of laughter =D I'll have to look it up and watch it again.

Today was a check-things-off-the-list chore day, mainly focused on continuing to clean the traffic areas in my carpet. Then it was off to WalMart, where I inadvertently checked everything out on a self-checkout before realizing it was a "cash-only" one... So then while the nice employee cleared that, I got to re-check out everything at another machine. Sigh.

@hollydolly, I'm sorry about your vase that was cracked... and that's a little beyond the Japanese technique of filling in the cracks with gold!

@Pepper, I'm so sorry about the AAR stress... sheesh. Too bad you can fax yourself, it would be a lot easier!

I endured the phone call with The Widow. 45 minutes. Ugh. She wanted to ship me all the pix, memorabilia, whatever stuff. Said there were many, many boxes. Me? I'd put it all where in my 300sf teeny, tiny Hovel? She's going to call DS and make arrangements for him to get it all, which was the plan in the first place. Yay. So that stress is gone, and I can relax. More Yay.

Ooh, lots happening Rose!

I bought one silver, one white, and one black paint pen. I used them to fill in letters and cover scratches on my microwave and stove knobs. I can buy new knobs for the stove but why? I just need for others to see the temp letters. I know what the settings are without them.
The "Add a Minute" on the microwave was worn off. I wrote it back on.
Good as new!

@hollydolly It's been more than 50 years. One of the kids, maybe DS? told me years ago that he overhead an argument between Whatsisname and The Widow when she was whining about me. He said she admitted to Whatsisname that she was jealous of me. What? She pursued. She baited. He bit. She reeled him in. What's to be jealous of? Another time Whatsisname told me "I always did like smart women like you." Meh. Doesn't really matter anymore.

I stayed single for 17 years, then married DH, my childhood sweetheart. We were married just shy of 20 years when he died, and we had a good life together. On Valentine's Day next week, we'd have been married 35 years.

I went down to the laundry room at 3:15 a.m. When I came back up, I tried the idea I had to keep my tablet from falling down when it’s supposed to stand upright (two positions) in its case. I added the soft side of industrial velcro to add more height to the grooves that support the tablet. That worked well. I created a new financial spreadsheet while relaxing and having a cup of green tea. I started drying clothes at 6. I usually don’t start before 8 or 8:30, but I wanted to be finished before I headed out.

I ate breakfast and balanced my checkbooks while the clothes dried. After everything was finished, I walked downtown to take my honorary daughter’s rent check to her landlord then went to the supermarket to get almond milk and a couple of other items. They were out of the milk and Shoprite whipped cream. I spent a whole $12.16. I watched TV, played games and took a short nap this afternoon. A couple of calls came in this evening and I was on the phone for about a half hour.
