Waiting this am for THC delivery at 40% off price for New Year sale. That should last me a very long time. Want to New Year's tip the delivery guy, a great, wise funny dude from Jamaica. Very competent operation they run.

Then, I will go out and buy enough food to last for awhile. That's not a lot, as I barely eat, but I must buy bananas, have a craving for them, although they sure taste different than they did years ago, or am I losing my taste buds? A bit of both, I think.

Then I will hope for SNOW so my grandson can go sledding with his parents and they can build a snow person together. Snow person. Haha, I'm woke!

Just started raining. Very gloomy looking, but at least there's been no flooding.

Now, a grumble about insurance. Shortly before Christmas we were planning to visit the theatre in Aberdeen. On that day, it snowed heavily and the road which hadn't been gritted became progressively dangerous to drive on (might have been passable with a big 4x4) so we turned for home. I had taken out insurance in case we had to cancel (it wasn't expensive) and this should have covered us. NO, it didn't.
We would have to supply official documentation stating that the road was closed or possibly, a letter from the police or a government body to say that in their opinion, the road was unsafe to drive on. It didn't matter that there was a warning of snow because it didn't advise against travelling.
I had checked on the travel websites, but there was no mention of problems or closures in this area.

In winter you can leave in clear weather and get caught out by snow, fallen trees etc., which was not reported on local news, 'social media' etc.. This is just a hazard of rural Scottish life, but of course the insurance company will use any excuse not to pay.

Morning all....lots of folkks up earlier than me today....29deg F here this morn, going to maybe 35 later...poss of snow good today, then they say mon the stuff gonna hit the fan....got the
head social worker coming by today so need to straighten up

We probably will have again drought year in California.
Perhaps some late January-March storms will arrive to save the day by bumping snowpack and rainfall amounts to at least average levels. The long range forecast shows possible rain Jan 14-19; maybe at least some will come to fruition.

Stocked up on fresh veggies yesterday, hallelujah! Surprise - the store had big bins of beautiful peaches and nectarines, but at $2.99/lb I bypassed them. Must have been a shipment from Chile or elsewhere in S.A.

The recipe book reorganizing project didn't get nearly as far as hoped/expected - only got about 1/8 of the way through. Sadness...

Between a couple of hour shopping break, an acupuncture appointment, and a still-quite-sore rib, I couldn't devote as much time as planned. Bigger problems: organization doesn't come naturally for me AND I'm very, very easily distracted (ADHD). That's why this kind of project takes me a lot longer than people with even average organization skills.

Nevertheless, she persisted.... After checking out what y'all are up to, I'll pick up where I left off yesterday but only after rearranging my workspace to reduce the rib-irritating torso twisting. With fewer errands scheduled today, I'm hoping for better progress. 🤞

Zoom meeting this morning. Maybe the gym later because we are due for snow this weekend. I thought it might miss me but the most recent forecast is for snow on Sat evening. If I don't get to the gym today, I might be waiting till Monday or Tuesday.

My geriatric car actually passed inspection. The mechanic also said I was overdue for an oil change (their records showed it was done about 5 years ago). I said I didn't drive it much since I retired and though the span to change motor oil was based on mileage. The answer: Five years is too long for oil to sit in an engine. Might as well get everything done in one stop.
Deb, it’s either miles or one year. Oil changes are the cheapest way to keep an old car running for a long time. I don’t drive much in retirement at 2700 miles a year but always change the oil after one year. My car is 16 years old and the only thing it’s ever needed are brakes, tires and oil changes. No matter how little you drive don’t go longer than a year.

waiting for a Walmart delivery.getting some bacon and smoked sausage and a few other things.in the mood for pork for some reason.was going to do some walking but feeling really tired.so I will sit on my backside and do some reading after I am done here.

I got my oil heater fixed yesterday and was so glad to get that done because it was 20 degrees outside when I woke up ,with about 2 inches of snow on my car.
I will probably just straighten up things here and put 2 bills in the mail.
I still have some delicious veg soup I made, so one more day on that ,with maybe, a steak sandwich.

Yesterday I made cupcakes and, even with my propane woodstove, the kitchen was chilly because the oil heat was off-so a good day to bake.
The company manager came to fix the heater and he didn't want to take a tip so I gave him some nice cupcakes and he was glad to have them, he said he might eat one or two ,on the way home, before he gives them to his wife.

And since I have to clean snow off the car I might as well go to the Dollar store.

I ordered some stuff at amazon, which will be here tomorrow and everything I needed was on sale!

I just checked my Prime account and it is $139.00 a year.I hope that does increase- again.

@debodun A car as old as yours should have oil changed every 3000 miles or every three months. I'm old and know stuff. and I have a two-year certificate from a vocational school that says I know what I'm talking about. Wait too long and they'll be charging you by the hour to chip the old stuff out! LOL As cheap as an oil change is, do it. It's worth it if you insist on keeping the car what with its age and attendant problems. Old oil isn't good for your engine.

I'm home, boys and girls. I was in my bakery place with a bright, shiny face this morning, worked my fanny off for five hours and left. Today is NL's day off so Sir helped me, and everything got done.

Maybe there's time for a short nap before it's time to leave to see the torturers doctors.

Weather wise, today is expected to be a "crap" day. Cloudy, high around 35°F (1.6°C,), with a rain/snow mix. Yuck! 😝

Dio has lit the wood burning stove for the first time this winter! Last year it was lit at the middle of Nov, so we have had a nice winter up to today.

I brought in one of the storage bins yesterday, and might start taking down some of my Christmas decorations. It's a little early, for me.....but it will be a good day to do that sort of thing. Like Bucky, my tree will stay up for a few more weeks.

While at the library yesterday, I printed out the picture (pattern) for my Mom's next magnet. I'm hoping to get that started today, too.

Tomorrow, I get to go to the roller rink!

I'm a bit south of you. Forecast is very similar. It's noon now, and the snow is just about done for the day.

Plenty of time for another cuppa!

On my way out the door to catch the bus to Walmart with my friend who lives downstairs. This will the second time we have done this. It is cold so I am dressed warm but so I can take my coat off in the store. I get hot even others are freezing.
.....sounds like a good way to get out for a while! 😁
