Yes I am finally well and so good to not be stuck home.I presume you're feeling much better now, Terry... good that you're going into 2024 feeling better...![]()
You reminded me of when we were kids and we would check down the back of the settee cushions for coins.Fishing for Cats
Took a skinny cane, put in under the couch, and after a few swipes, got a boatload of cat toys, including six mice, 8 blue plastic cat playthings; 4 pens, a full bottle of very old insulin and various other items. I didn't put them there! Also found a vape pen filled with really good stuff that became invisible after only one use and has been driving me bonkers as to what could have happened to it! Could have used that last night, maybe wouldn't have been so Bored! Also found cat toys belonging to prior cats, including one huge neon pink rat (too big to be a mouse!). I can't leave anything out, I hide all the remotes every night.
Yea....that cold weather is not for me, especially on the lake. There is always a day ths that is good for shooting, though! My plans for 24 are to fish and shoot more while my health allows me to, some days i need a push in the rear to get on the lake in freezing temps I admit. Shooting nope I just go.
I admit, if you hadn't posted these pictures, I would have completely missed the Rose Parade. Thank you!135th Annual Rose Parade in Pasadena -- a few last pictures taken off the TV right now
Much street dancing, singing, bands, and whatever you can imagine
After the Ringling Brothers Circus motto, this is the greatest show on earth (or something like that)
I believe the parade route is about 5 1/2 miles long, mostly on the Colorado Boulevard
Afterwards, the floats can be viewed close-up for three days (it used to be free, but now they want an entrance fee)

You sure were busy!!!!Now that the house paint is finished, I had time for some little projects. Tilled the garden spot so I can put my tomato's in the ground, pulled the carburetor off my generator and cleaned it so it's good to go again, and finally... finished installing a secondary fan in the inner fender of Big Red to help pull some of the under hood heat from the big block out. All in all... not a bad day.

Thank you for posting this Packleader; it serves as a reminder for me. I used to faithfully watch the Rose parade but the last time I was disappointed with the floats. I thought just a couple of days ago that I'll try watching it again, since I haven't seen one in a few years.135th Annual Rose Parade in Pasadena which is one of the many cities in the Los Angeles basin between the mountains and the ocean.
Tournament of Roses AND Rose Parade floats - Wikipedia
How to watch the Rose Parade live:
Watch the 2024 Rose Parade streaming live OR https://www.youtube.com/@tournamentsofroses
Each of the 40-50 floats is covered by perhaps 18,000 flowers and cost an estimated half million dollars. My family has been watching them live on <KTLA> TV every year. As teenagers, my children even helped decorating some floats.
The Parade starts on New Years Day at 8:00 a.m. Pacific Standard Time (Greenwich Mean Time minus 8 hours)
"Tournament of Roses Parade floats are flower-covered parade floats, used in the annual New Year's Day Tournament of Roses Parade held in Pasadena, California. They evolved from flower-decorated horse carriages with the present day requirement that every inch of every float must be covered with flowers or other natural materials, such as leaves, seeds or bark." (Wikipedia) The Parade usually starts with a flyover of a "B2" US Air Force Stealth Bomber.
Below are some flowers from our garden taken on New Years Eve, the kind of flowers you might see on the floats:

lol..well at this age she should know that she'll get what you cook if she doesn't make her mind up quickly..It's raining quite heavily here, but we have to go shopping and replenish the larder. No plans for meals this week. DD is here until Friday and I keep asking what she would like for dinners, but she can't make up her mind. It's not as if we can just nip round the corner to buy things, so I have to know what to get at our fortnightly shop.
Well... there's something new... (sarcasm).... its raining heavily... ... it hasn't actually stopped in 3 days... Anyone whose been to the south of England for the fist time since the beginning of December will be convinced that old story about it always raining in the Uk, is true. I have never in my life seen as much rain as we've had here in the past month .
