Welp. I just read online about foods not to eat before bed. Cereal and milk. Chocolate. Ice cream. Mmmhmm. No more cereal and milk. Chocolate and ice cream? Much earlier. Sigh. Doesn't say anything about fruit but does mention pasta, pizza and celery, none of which I eat before bed anyway.

Watching a Murder, She Wrote marathon. There's one that George Clooney is in. He looked to be about 20!

Groceries this morning along with a hot mocha from McD's. After that, not sure, but it's in the 40s instead of the 20s, so maybe I'll take a walk or something. I hope ya'll have a perfectly wonderful Saturday. I'd be relaxing in @CinnamonSugar 's front yard with a chai, but alas, my invitation must have been misplaced. 🤭 How are you feeling today, @Pepper ?
Ah, @CallMeKate, SF friends are welcome anytime. I may still be in my jammies, but that is easily rectified =P =)

Bit of a rant...

I am so angry today I could spit nails.

People taking advantage of Ed and his home-bound situation... aarrrrgggg. People borrow things from him and don't return them or 'borrow' money and don't pay it back... people who *should* care about him just can't be bothered to visit him... people who *say* they will do work around the yard to help, but then don't show up or do a half-a$$ed job.

If I had a 2x4 today, there would be some heads with goose eggs on them! =(

Ok, enough negative...

I understand your anger CS....it seems that it always seems to be those closest to use who are more likley to take advantage of us...

Another lacey night  and I didn't even eat anything before bed.

It's warmish right now so coffee on the patio. Later this morning it's supposed to start raining. DD and I were going to do the Warmarting this afternoon, but I think I'll just take a pair of "real" shoes and leave them in the car and go right after work if DD is willing. Just want to be done with it and not looking forward to dashing about between raindrops from the car to the store and back.

Meantime? Off to work with me🥐🥐

I've just booked myself a 4 day/night Midweek break for July...in the Uk... at a Coastal resort.. it'll come right after my Divorce becomes final so I'll need a break right about then....
Have you booked it for before the school holidays? It's the English ones that dictate how busy things are here. We have very few hotels in this area, it's mainly caravan sites, B&Bs and holiday rentals. The area could probably benefit form more tourism, but on the other hand, it's still fairly quiet in summer. I have seen old photos from the 50's & 60's where the beaches were crowded. Now there's maybe a few dozen people.

well of course most people since the 70's have gone abroad on holiday......barely anyone holidays on coastal resorts these days... just a few days break like I'm taking.

yes I've booked it for 2 weeks before the school holidays..... here in the south the beaches are absolutely packed during the school holidays.. and even outside of them... Southend, Brighton, Bournemouth , et al..

I posted photos from some of them last summer.. of course almost all are day trippers...

Brighton beach here in this picture.. ridiculous because it's not even sand, it's pebble...and flint...

Southend Beach

It was Covid which started all this, up to then, it was fairly quiet... but once people re-discovered the southern beaches once again, there was no keeping them away. So they now flock to the coast get their tans here, and then fly off to Sunnier climes later in the year ...or don't bother going abroad at all any more..

My idea of a complete nightmare those beaches packed like that...

If I eat chocolate too late I get a headache.

It is about 23 degrees here but they expect temps to raise to 40 degrees by noon AND the SUN will be out today-
We have not seen sunlight for at least10 days! Southern Tier NY.

I plan on, after church, to do some more Spring cleaning-the stuff people never see, closet things re-arranged, pantry checked over , and getting rid of a few old pots and pans that I never use.

Or maybe I will just watch TV and eat food! The Grammys are on tonight!

My sourdough rose overnight. Time to rest then bake.

I really need to start cutting back some plants. One year I did it too early. New growth came up and we had a freeze so the tips were brown. Wait too long and you cut some of the new growth. Right around now is good in N Carolina.
I have a clump of about five or six daffodils outside my window.
Not sure how much DH will plant this year for vegetables. His health issues set him back so probably simple tomatoes and peppers. We have greens that have over wintered and the asparagus should be abundant.

Yesterday I took a walk in the sunshine and looks like today may be sunny as well. So maybe another walk today. I do so enjoy being out in the sunshine even if it is cold. Just bundle up and increase my pace a bit. Otherwise it will be a good day to work on my computer.
I too enjoyed the sunshine yesterday, kat. Although it was very cold I went out for a stroll that lasted one & half hours. The sun was beautiful! I missed it SO much! Now it is shining gloriously through the windows! Clouds for such a long time.
