Good morning, forum peeps!
For the past week DH has been working on the shower in the master bathroom - water leaking under the shower door seal. No biggie, we thought. While he was on that project we showered in a different bathroom. (It felt like being in a hotel - sometimes I forget how nice that shower is.)
Anyway, he finished up the MB shower yesterday so I showered in there this morning. Oh dear. Whatever he did made it worse. Looks like the problem is above DH's pay grade so he's sleuthing out a contractor to solve the problem. Meantime, we'll shower in our "hotel bathroom" on the other side of the house.
So here's the thing - we had this bathroom built 35 years ago, meaning it's considered positively ancient in the US. I don't know about other countries, but in this one there's an expectation that homes - bathrooms and kitchens in particular - are remodeled every ten years-ish to stay current with the latest trends. So ridiculous. I LIKE my bathroom the way it is and have no intention of spending $25K or more to rip out perfectly good sinks, a tiled shower and counter or custom built oak cabinets just so my bathroom will match whatever HGTV is pushing. (White on white on white with black accents, at the moment.)
On an aside, is anyone else shocked at how little imagination today's home decorators have? Heaven forbid any of them stray from the beaten track.
