Great idea! Be sure to specify which stuff.
yes it's not just the barn and the sheds.. but also the loft.. it's not even possible for me to bring the stuff down from the loft... there's car parts..I mean I'm talking car bumpers.. specialist parts.. personalised number plates.. you name it up there including a very heavy Tile cutter.. not possible for me to get it down..

Geez, probably worth lots of money if you could just find someone you trust to haul it away for a fair price. Unfortunately, it is your husband's stuff so may not be worth it if he decided to be a jerk about it after the fact.
People aren't always themselves during divorce.

tell me about it

@hollydolly Dandy idea about having the lawyer specify that he gets his stuff out and with a deadline! Beyond that, do you have outfits there like our 800GotJunk? They'll come and haul it all away. Maybe you could negotiate a no-charge deal since there's so much of actual monetary value.

@hawkdon I guess you forgot that I'd be there for biscuits and sausage gravy today. Never mind. I had an egg and toast.

No, no! They pick up anything, not necessarily junk; that's just what it's called. Anyway, maybe Google for companies that will appraise the stuff, haul it away and pay you for it.

I'm showered, fed, litter box has been cleaned, and now I don't feel like doing anything more. Does that make me a slug? A bad person? A lazy person?

Darned cat peed on the comforter so I'm waiting for DD to get up and get her stuff out of the washer. Cat has been cursed at.

A nap would be nice; I've been up for three hours.

Doctor rang... we talked about the tests, she's now sending me to see a surgeon....however of course it came with the caveat '' I know you're aware of the long wait times, just so you know it could be a while before you get seen''...

This was yet a different doctor ..another locum whom I've never spoken to or seen.. very nice , not bombastic like the last guy... but it always makes me laugh, because I look and sound younger than my age.. I'm always asked to repeat it even if they have my details in front of them, and it was no different today when I answered the phone.... she asked if she was speaking to Holly Dolly,
, I said yes, and that I was expecting her call..''pause''.. errm can you tell me your date of birth..?

:D:LOL:

How good am I ?...how GOOD am I...?... lol... I have cleared out 17 pairs of shoes , boots and trainers to donate. In fact it is 18 but I could only fit 17 into the box... 7 pairs haven't been worn..at all... they were bought when I was still working and they're not really suitable for my lifestyle now...

I've put the one pair of Chelsea boots that I couldn't get in the box.. into another bag which has clothing and bric-brac in it... both very heavy so I may be only able to take one at a time to the shop

Good morning, forum peeps!

For the past week DH has been working on the shower in the master bathroom - water leaking under the shower door seal. No biggie, we thought. While he was on that project we showered in a different bathroom. (It felt like being in a hotel - sometimes I forget how nice that shower is.)

Anyway, he finished up the MB shower yesterday so I showered in there this morning. Oh dear. Whatever he did made it worse. Looks like the problem is above DH's pay grade so he's sleuthing out a contractor to solve the problem. Meantime, we'll shower in our "hotel bathroom" on the other side of the house.

So here's the thing - we had this bathroom built 35 years ago, meaning it's considered positively ancient in the US. I don't know about other countries, but in this one there's an expectation that homes - bathrooms and kitchens in particular - are remodeled every ten years-ish to stay current with the latest trends. So ridiculous. I LIKE my bathroom the way it is and have no intention of spending $25K or more to rip out perfectly good sinks, a tiled shower and counter or custom built oak cabinets just so my bathroom will match whatever HGTV is pushing. (White on white on white with black accents, at the moment.)

On an aside, is anyone else shocked at how little imagination today's home decorators have? Heaven forbid any of them stray from the beaten track.
