It’s a really lovely neighbourhood that you live in. I’m happy that it is secured too. I’d be content to live in a place like yours.
Thank you Jules❣️ In July, I will have owned my unit for 53 years. Can't beat the housing cost. Our mortgage is paid and monthly HOA is $644, which includes heat, hot water and maintenance of all common areas. I'd actually be paying more if I lived in a public housing senior building. The green and yellow bush on the right is directly in front of my patio. This was taken at dusk. I can tell because the lights had started coming on. This is what I see as soon as I come up from the laundry room (well before the dead of winter anyway). Those bushes stay green (and yellow) all year round. @hollydolly @Pepper @StarSong

Thank you too @hearlady❣️

Yes, I have a patio HD. But I would never hang clothes out there. We have two clotheslines in the courtyard and I've never used either of them. This first photo is not my balcony, but that of my next door neighbor and I've posted it so you can get an idea of the size. The patio doors are six feet across. The 3rd was taken from inside my apartment.

@Jules, you mentioned being concerned because I'm going out at night. Again, that is so sweet of you!. The 2nd & 3rd pictures were taken at night. See how well lit it is? :)

Looks like a wonderful community and place to live!!

Felt a migraine coming, started with the ocular zigzags, so it will probably be a bang up. Might feel bad tomorrow so I went ahead and did the Dollar store and the Walmart run. I was shocked to see how wiped out the dollar store was, shelves empty in a lot of areas. I just needed a few things and they were all available.

Then to Walmart, jeez, I just don't get people. Yes, it was crowded at the get go. Then we had all these kooks who just decided to block lanes, they would rather sit for 5 minutes to wait for someone to load their groceries because the walk would just be to horrible to bear. Just go on, there are plenty of spots, you have legs for a reason.

I did not need much but darn if I didn't check out without getting my dawn dish soap again. Left my cart at customer service and went back thru to get it just in case.

Glasses tomorrow will have to wait maybe.

Flowers from my wife's garden. She promised me to retire from work as a school teacher next year. In the meantime, her garden is not as beautiful as it used to be. I think she is burnt out and wish she would retire already this year. But I will not pressure her. Going into retirement is a once-in-a-lifetime decision she has to make by herself in order to be at peace with that decision.

I woke up this morning with horrible neck and shoulder pain, most likely because I worked out my shoulders yesterday at the gym. I need to learn to go lighter. 2 Alleve and it was gone.

I walked a mile at the mall, then went to see the movie Problemista at the theater. It is a comedy about an immigrant from San Salvador who comes to NYC and has a month to find a job and to be sponsored before being deported. His goal is to create toys for Hasbro.

The character was well-played by Julio Torres who is a stand-up comic. Tilda Swinton played his crazy monster of a boss. She was fantastic in the role. Julio Torres also produced the movie, and he has a very offbeat sense of humor, so it's not for everyone. There were more giggles than laughs in the movie, but it took me away from everyday life for 2 hours.

I'm glad we live in a time where people are embracing their gray/white hair!
My mother had white hair since her 50s and constantly got compliments on it.

My hubby has dyed his hair for years. His sister recently underwent chemotherapy for breast cancer and lost her hair. To support her, he has stopped dying his hair and it is a beautiful thick gray/white color.

This is my mother at 87, with my hubby.

Today was a Kale and mixed vegetables day. Love it when I remember to cook these early enough in the day. Bag of frozen Kale, bag of frozen vegetables, some salt, Italian seasoning, and a whole lotta garlic and a half gallon of distilled water. Simmer for awhile, then hard boil for 2 minutes. I coulda been a chef. 😀

not need to excuse yourself, you're welcome to make any comments whenever you wish..:giggle: yes I do have those small weights.. I have to use them sitting down tho'.. because if I use them standing up, even those small weights put my back out.. not because I can't lift them of course, but because my back is so fragile....but I'm never sure if using them sitting down strengthens my core, which is really what you need along with the back muscles as a base for upper body strength..

I'm not weak..I've always had good strong shoulders... now since I rarely swim any more picking slightly heavy things up, is proving to be more and more of a challenge..
Will your health care system supply you will a physical therapist?

I would suggest some simple body weight squats multiple times everyday to get large leg muscles, glutes, and core really strong gradually. Need someone to monitor you getting started.

I felt agitated for most of the day, waiting to see if my neighbors were going to act up. It was a beautiful day weather-wise, so I figured they might. It's late enough to say they might have taken a break from being obnoxious for the day.

I'm feeling so relieved at the moment. I'm celebrating with some tortilla chips and watching some tv. The rest of the night I hope is peace and quiet.

Your mother was beautiful Doug! That hairdo suited her well and her skin looks fantastic! Reminds me of my mother's skin when she was 97. She had nary a wrinkle and her skin looked smooth and supple. They look so nice together.

@packleader Your wife's flowers are beautiful.

@Blessed I hope that migraine avoided you! I'm not surprised that the Dollar store had empty shelves if you were there on the weekend. Also you wrote: "Looks like a wonderful community and place to live!!" Thank you. We're in a prime location too. Walk score is 98. We've had our issues here but they eventually got resolved.

I hope you will have a good day Hawkdon. I also hope the at least one or two of the pain remedies recommended for you will work well.

No our health care system will not supply a PT...

My legs are very strong and the last thing I need to do is put any more muscle on them.. , I have the muscles of an athlete in my legs, and shoulders.. .. but again putting any pressure on them creates a problem for my lower lumbar region now.. so I feel that walking on my treadmill is my only option.. but I can't see how that will regain my core strength

Her hair is beautiful! And, your hubby is a looker! Bet he looks even better with natural hair!
Nice picture. 😊

I'm having a terrible panic attack......I have a doctor/surgeon appt. re: pain in my legs. I have a way to get there, but I was planning on walking & talking subway back home so did not secure a ride. I don't know if I can do that. I don't know why I thought I could. Oh right, because I was always able. I forgot I'm not able.

Confused, afraid, that's how I'm feeling. Car comes to pick me up around 11:15am. I hope I'm not becoming as helpless as I feel.

Hope I can behave myself in office setting. Don't know what's going on with me. I think the pain has driven me crazy.

My back is also prone to pain when I lift too much or overwork it. Even so, I've strengthened it over time by carrying TGS who's now nigh onto 30 lbs.

I do 15 counter pushups at least once a day, sometimes 2-3 times. Plus 5 minutes of stair climbing (real stairs) every morning. . Also just started wall squats, but can only do a handful of those before my knees complain. Try to get in a 30 minute walk most days, too.

Speaking of TGS, at two years old, the little guy is already dairy intolerant. 99% of Koreans are have dairy intolerance and he's half Korean (plus a lot of my family also has problems with dairy - me included), so his lactose intolerance isn't surprising.

It was a jam-packed weekend but the next few days promise to be a lot calmer.

Just returned from cardiologist/surgeon. I have no circulation at all in left leg which is one reason why I'm in agony. So far scheduled for stent surgery March 29. At least it's not purely psychosomatic which has been suggested to me. It's real.
