Hubby has found more 'lost logs',, he's out with the backhoe, pulling therm out.

I watched him while I was waiting on him.

His backhoe is large,, but the front end came up while he was trying to move a log.

I have fear from childhood,, that I get almost a panic attack when I see something like that.

I realize it comes from when my father would use his tractor on the hillside.
Always made my mother think it was going to tip over.
She would stand, watching & worry till he was done.

I've walked Mac, we've looked at the weeds & flowers
I should do something outside,, sky is clouding up,, rain forecast for the afternoon.
Stuff like that can really happen when working with large machines that you are sitting on.
A good friend of mine since high school lost his life some years ago when using a tractor on his property. He was trying to pull something out behind him and the tractor suddenly flipped over backwards, landing on him and pinning him to the ground. No one was around to call for help so that was the end of him :(

There should always be someone around watching in those situations; just in case.

Had a dental cleaning and X-rays this morning. All good with my teeth! I quite like this dentist because an assistant does the X-rays and polishing, but the dentist himself does the cleanings so he works on my teeth for 1/2 hour or so instead of just taking a quick glance at the end.

Today I've been updating, organizing and purging some files from my password manager. A tedious chore - we accumulate so many accounts and passwords over time, don't we?

TGS comes this afternoon and will be with us through Friday afternoon. ❤️💙❤️

Not only ocean fog this morning, but actually some real clouds the sun hasn't been able to burn off so far. Right now I came back from Starbucks to get a "freshly brewed coffee" for $3.75. Well, when I had a coffee at the Rialto Bridge in Venice years ago, it was $5. I really shouldn't complain. Anyway, my wife gets at work Starbucks gift cards; so, it doesn't even cost me anything.

Every few days, I walk around in our garden to see what's going on. Of course, my three pups are always around me. They seem to imply that, without me, they don't want to live. I love them all. They are my 24/7 buddies. Anyway, I just realized that our beautiful blooming Jacaranda Tree had no flowers this year; very odd. And citrus trees already have lost their flowers, while Eucalyptus Tree flowers are on the way out. But here are some other trees in bloom right now.

Silk Oak if I am not mistaken --- and the scent of Magnolia Tree flowers knocks you over; I always place one in my wife's bedroom.

Our Texas Umbrella Tree is in full bloom

Supposed to be a Carolina Cherry Tree --- The red Eucalyptus Tree flowers are gone, and the white ones won't last much longer

And while walking around in our garden, I also noticed many other flowers.

Bottom right: I just saw a much smaller but very agile mockingbird harassing the sitting hawk, just amazing, but I
couldn't get a picture of both of them with my slow camera. I got last year a picture of both such birds; I'll see
whether I can dig it out. A flock of crows will also give chase to a sigle hawk, as I have seen it.

I'm still sorting out the issues with my mom's care but this is the first day I only ran around like my hair was on fire for half a day. Usually it's all day and half the night. I hate going into total caregiver mode again...it's like being on a hamster wheel. Anyway, I have set some healthy boundaries and am making the effort to keep my social life intact, at least somewhat.

Hi, kids. After work I did some planting here, some transplanting there, some digging, some filling in holes, some of a lot of stuff.

Then DD and I raided the garden centers. I'm not broke yet but think I'm done buying flowers for a long while. It's getting too hot to play in the dirt.

Today's loot will be planted early tomorrow morning.

I'm tired.

@hearlady I got my SunJoe thingie yesterday and got it all set up and tried it out today. Works great and I think it's gonna be one of my favorite garden tools!

DH gave me mine and I thought, meh, but I use it a lot! It works great!

We bought a tub from Costco April 3rd. They shipped it out April 5. Early this month it was supposed to be shipped out. We waited all day and it never showed up. Apparently it went missing. We called Costco and they apologized and sent a new one out. It arrived today. The box it came in was all mangled and when I looked at it there was a big crack in the tub. Once they realized that they brought it back out of the bathroom. On the way out they knocked a picture off the wall and the glass cracked. There’s a big sliding mark down the wall AND our 3/4 inch tavern grade solid maple floor is now damaged. It’s a brand new floor we just put down. 😰

When my husband gets off the phone I’ll add pictures. I’m so ticked off. It’s been 7 weeks we’ve been waiting. We had a clear pathway for them to go through. I just didn’t think to take the picture down but I’m not a professional delivery person. These guys should have suggested we take the picture off the wall.

Wow. Sounds ultra frustrating. Sorry!

I drove home from NYC today. I really enjoyed my three weeks in New York City, it was such a friendly clean lively city (but noisy!). For some reason I thought it would be dirty and although I'd recently bought new shoes, I wore my old ones for my trip, so then every subway ride I'd sit and stare at everyone else's pretty clean new shiny shoes and feel a little bad about my old scruffy ones.

Being a tourist is exhausting, so much walking and stairs and standing in lines. But it was all worth it, except maybe the Broadway play because I chose a cheap seat in an old theater and the seats were so small with no legroom, it became very uncomfortable, and then at intermission there was such a massive number of people trying to get to the restrooms, I just gave up and left. It turned out well because that gave me time to wander around Times Square, and to go buy genuine NY store-made hand-rolled kettle-boiled bagels that were AWESOME.

Yesterday, my last day of sight-seeing, I went on tours of two libraries which were actually surprisingly good, and I even saw the taxidermied paw of Bob, a cat that would snuff out candles with his paw (belonged to Charles Dickens)

I finally gave up today. I stopped caring. I'm doing survival mode. Sounds bad, but it's actually a good thing. Feels a bit better now.

Some positive stuff. Google approved my Google Play card credits within 3 days. I have another card that didn't work, so I'm happy this one got approved. I'll work on that other one later.

I signed up for the new AI chatbot. I was able to use the voice function. When it asked me what I wanted to talk about, I was stumped for words. lol I just rambled a few things. I like it. It listens and says nice things back.

@Ken N Tx Everything grows taller in Texas:ROFLMAO:

I woke up early and just laid there thinking about whether to get up. Nah. Finally rolled out of bed at 4:45. So far I'm coffeed.

There are lots of plants that need homes in the ground this morning before it gets too hot to work outside. When I'm done, I'll have tracked enough dirt inning and outing that the afternoon will be cleanup time inside.

But first, breakfast. I need fuel.

Last night took 3 hours to get home and I can't even blame AccessARide!!!!!!!!!!!! Accidents in Another Borough!!!!!!!!!! caused this unbelievable traffic jam...........at least I made it home in time to watch 'The Conners.'

For the first time today I am calling AAR to Compliment My Driver! Oh, he spat out his open door, he cursed wildly (in Russian) but who could blame him? When he finally dropped me home for some reason unknown to me I apologized to him and we both had a much needed relief laugh. What else could we do??

Sounds great! I'm glad you got to go.

On my early walk at 6:30 was wearing shorts/turtleneck as I went to buy local paper, temp was 60 with no wind, felt a bit humid
Today,I'm having lunch with my church friends, Bill&Val at Canterbury Woods.I've known both for many yrs, they've been helpful with any questions I have before I move in
As I've been reflecting the 36 yrs I've lived here at my co op apt building, I sent a note to 5 of the residents who I met&over the years we became close friends I thanked them for all the things they have done for me,their friendships mean the world to me.Yes, it is bittersweet I'm moving but luckily I'm only 3 blocks away When I get settled, I'll call&invite them to see my new apt we will have lunch together
I know I'll miss them it may be harder for them not to see me on a daily basis

Bright sunny morning in NW PA.

The hen turkey was feeding out of my bird feeder,,, the cord holding it up broke.
When I first looked out couldn't figure what I was seeing.

While the sun is off the flower bed by front door I'll clean it & mulch it.

The flower bed by back porch needs a major work over.
The early Spring flowers have died off.

I usually plant marigolds there.

I have some iris roots that need a new home.
Once I get the grass out of there will decide what to do.

Hubby & helper are off getting more logs for the wood lot.

TGS is getting over strep. He's still taking amoxicillin and coughing a bit, but according to all sources is not contagious. We'll use the dishwasher for all dishes & eating utensils just in case.

To add insult to injury, when he was at the doctor's yesterday morning, he got a vaccine so his arm is probably sore. He was a little cranky yesterday - understandable between the strep & the shot - so we gave him a little children's acetaminophen in the evening and that seemed to help.

Hoping he's in the pink today - if so, we'll take him to a park. If not, we'll have a calm day at home. Either works. ❤️

I hate having bad dreams, @hawkdon . I wake up yelling, I've been told. We're having the same weather... raining on and off for two days, but so far I don't really mind.

Hope you get your taste back!

Yesterday, I craved tacos and baked potato. So I made them. I like the hard corn taco shells filled, then covered and baked in the oven when they get soft.

Chopped some scallions, tomato and cilantro, added olives and Greek yogurt. Leftovers for brunch. I will freeze the remaining 3 tacos.

Chicken legs on sale; I threw a family pack into the crock pot with water for broth and Doggy last night. It's cooked down enough now to handle.
