Well I still haven't got the cabinet built... Instead I went downstairs to do it.. then got sidetracked cuz I was hungry, and put the chicken on to cook.. and while that was in the AF..I went out and gave the chair another coat of paint.

Then when the chicken was ready I cooked up some Beansprouts, chestnut mushrooms and noodles to have as a stir fry.... and as you all know as Stir fry has to be eaten as soon as it's cooked... :D.. After dinner as I cleared up I saw a whole bunch of what looks like tiny spiders.. the tiniest no bigger than a pinhead all crawling in a group on my fireplace.... I have no idea where they came from but I had to get the Vac.. and sweep them all up....

Now I'm hot.. got a cold drink and came up here for a rest ..lol... I'll tackle the cabinet later...

Why Holly, my bad influence on you is starting to show. Makes me a little proud...
 

was outside at sun up.wanted to get a few things done before it gets to hot. I was cleaning out the shed throwing away things before the garbage truck gets here.sorting thru the junk I have in there.took a while contemplating if I might need it for something. ended up not throwing much away.
 

I have just been booking my hospital appointment to see the specialist about the OA in my knees.

For those who don't know, we have a system here called Choose and Book whereby we're sent a choice (usually 5) of hospitals and we choose one that suits us best ..

I had a choice of 3 London Hospitals and 2 in my county ..

the 2 NHS hospitals in my own county have a waiting list of 40 weeks.. :oops::oops:

another one in London had a waiting time of 140 days... which left me with a choice of 2...Private hospitals... one had an appt available in 3 days, which I would have loved to have gone to but I have another appt that day... and the other is the one I chose with an appointment available in 2 weeks ...so I've booked that. The pity is the availability of the Musculoskeletal clinic is only on Fridays.. and Friday traffic in London..is HORRENDOUS... oh well.. at least I don't have to wait too long..

Update from soggy S GA:

Winds not too bad but beau-coodles of rain. I went to check on Ed this AM (his house is in a low-lying area) and there is a pond at the end of his road that has been drying up for months…. Well it ain’t dried up anymore! The water’s not over the road yet but if this keeps up it will be. I saw a couple trees down and a bunch of branches but the main damage from this storm is the amount of water.

Miraculously the driver of this car is ok 😬

Pretty much all the businesses are closed. Even the grocery store. And if Walmart managed to stay open it would be a mad-house.

Staying home and hunkered down. At least we haven’t lost power 🤞

You are probably like my mom who was an energizer bunny until age 80. A normal day for me is 8k steps which includes a 2 mile walk with the dogs. When I am helping my friend I get 11-14k steps plus it’s in the high 90’s. She lives in a 3 story building with an elevator but it’s a pain to get things to my car and takes many trips. I had much more stamina at 67.

I purposely chose Monday and Friday to help because the next day I am tired and do chores around the house at a slower pace. The rest of the week I am busy with testing clients, volunteering, errands, helping a friend that broke her hip and all the normal life activities.
 
Left: Everyone is gone, I am by myself, so time for getting some work done. Washing: (1) dirty dog beds, (2) my dirty working
and hiking junk, (3) colored clothing, (4) my bed stuff including towels, and (5) last my white underwear to clean the washing
machine, so my wife won't complain again that I left the washing machine dirty.
Right: I found a penny on the street, put it through the washing machine, and now it's the lucky penny in my pocket.

My kids and I are frequently refreshing memories, contemplating, and praying on our own pet cemetery

Left: I hardly ever take my pups to the Vet. If they itch, I use hydrogen peroxide or stronger flea and tick spray. I have a whole
cabinet of pet medication. My R.N. daughter gives the shots. Only for the required rabies shots every 3 years, I must visit the Vet.
Right: A few houses burnt just 3 miles from us due to illegal fireworks.

Pappy, yes, I agree I wasn't near this tornado it happened in downtown Buffalo.
Last month another tornado swept through small town, Eden ,NY which is south of Buffalo, near Hamburg. A couple farms were damaged, trees uprooted but no casualties, thank God Sue

Thank you for your concern and that info Jules. I didn't have extreme back pain, just an annoying stiffness and achiness on my left side after I sat for too long. My first thought was that I slept wrong. I sleep in my recliner and sleep kind of contorted sometimes...one part of my body going in one direction and the other part goin in another. Sometimes I find myself "planking". Then I thought maybe I had a kidney infection, but I had none of the other symptoms for that. From what I understand, gallstone pain is often constant and presents on the right side of the body under the ribs, in the abdomen area.

I made my low sugar chocolate pudding pie using the ready made graham cracker crust. Today I experimented with the recipe. Instead of using whipped cream as part of the base, I used plain yogurt that I flavored with vanilla, agave, Splenda and Coffee Mate sugar free hazelnut creamer . It came out better than expected and tastes good, so I'll be using that recipe from now on.

I've got some orders from Amazon and Chewy to put away. I intend to clean my bathroom, including sweeping and wet Swiffering the bathroom floor. I'll likely do the kitchen as well. It's been over a week and I just wasn't able to do those things after getting back from my trip. My son has had late nights almost every work night last week, then again last night. He was so busy on the weekend that I didn't have the heart to ask him to do it. I usually post close to midnight what I've done, since when I post what I plan to do, often I don't follow through. So I'll just add that it is also my intention to sort laundry. ;)

Artificial intelligence (AI) is providing a cheaper, faster and more efficient service for cataract patients while easing pressure on NHS staff, according to researchers.
An automated voice system developed in Oxford, called Dora, phones patients to ask questions, interprets their answers and identifies patients who need to be seen by a clinician.
A study, published in The Lancet’s eClinicalMedicine, external journal in July, found Dora's decisions strongly agreed with the supervising ophthalmologist.
The AI-powered tool is currently being used by nine hospital trusts, mainly in the south of England.

Prioritising patients​

More than 200 patients who had recently undergone cataract surgery took part in the study.
They received a call from Dora to conduct a follow-up assessment three weeks after their operation.
Dr Kanmin Xue, honorary consultant ophthalmologist and co-principal investigator at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust, said: "The Dora system is able to call patients autonomously by telephone and conduct a conversation that gathers the key information needed to determine whether a patient is recovering well or requires further medical assessment.
"It was successful in identifying and prioritising those individuals who needed additional clinical input."
Cataract surgery remains the most frequently performed surgical procedure in the UK, with almost half a million operations performed every year, according to the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.

You're up early Holly, can't sleep? The weather is so uncomfortable. Yesterday, at this time, the heavens just opened up, I thought it might have heralded the end of the glorious sunshine, but all it did was to give the garden a good drink and now the dandelions in the lawn all need decapitating.
 
Yesterday's freelance photography job went very well. Photos edited and about 200 sent off. But I had to miss Tuesday Tai Chi class. So this morning I'm driving down to Garstang for my teacher's Wednesday class there. Other than that I can now crack on with finishing the wedding photos from Liverpool Cathedral. This new iMac makes it so much easier. No lag refreshing photos and rapid SSD speed opening and closing lots of files!
 
Yesterday I had a longer than usual walk in the morning. Had to go to the health clinic and see a nurse for a blood sample to be taken: something to do with my kidneys due to the gout tablets I'm on atm. Anyway, I normally drive there but due to roadworks and parking problems I just walked, unfortunately there are a couple of slopes which take it out of me.
Anyway, got that over and done with albeit a mistake by the nurse meant she took someone who had an appointment 20 minutes after me got taken before me. Decided to cut the grass with our lighter electric mower in the afternoon then sat down after that with a couple of refreshments.
Today I have no plans to do heehaw bar watch Yellowstone which I have just started watching. Unfortunately can't get series one so only got series 2 & 3.
 
I did try to sleep, took my medicine but this has been one of those nights of no relief. Switching back and forth between ice and heat.

To add insult to injury, there is something alive in my bathtub. I have not gone to look. I keep that door closed so the dogs stay out. I do not have the strength to confront the beast until the sun comes up. I have laid in bed for 3 1/2 hours, it is scratching the whole time.

I am thinking a mouse, pray not a rat!! Other critters in this area would be larger and no trouble hopping out of the tub. It could be a baby opossum or squirrel, but I doubt it. Let you know later how this plays out,
