Another overcast and cool day here so no fiddling around in the garden :(

Bed linens are in the dryer.

I decided to make real food for breakfast, a hashbrown "pie" with hashbrowns (of course), eggs, milk, bacon, onions, cheese and chopped green chilies. It's in the oven as we speak.

While I was still feeling ambitious, I washed up the dishes.

My middle name today is Virtuous, but stand by because it's only 9:30 in the morning.

I don't like hashbrowns at all... however that sounds more like corned beef hash, ( with no corned beef) which I love,,

Morning all....late coming in this morning, been up since 430am,
usual aches, and painful hands again, ah the joys of age!!!!
My houselady comes in at 11am today, so straightened a few
things about the place...got a shower, and I was very nervous in
it for some reason today, but didn't fall!!!! It is both cloudy and
smokey outside today, wish we'd get some rain but not likely....
Will lurk a lot till my hands get better....take care all folks!!!!

I slept poorly last night, and this morning I'm dragging. I don't think my morning coffee is going to help much, at this point.

Not so for

Goober! He's out playing in the drizzle/mist, and having a good time! He keeps coming by the door to look in, as if he is waiting to go for his walk! 😆

Friday's are usually a laidback day...sounds good to me! If I do anything at all, maybe I can work on the pictures for my Mom's frame.

Just got the washing out now at 4pm... little bit late now to put it out because the sun has gone from the garden around to the front, and it'll be dark just after 7pm... so I'll probably have to bring it in again wet.

I've deliberately held back about getting a new Tumble dryer because I thought I would be moving to the apartment in London.. and they have a laundromat very nearby... but now it looks like that move won't be happening.. so I will have to start looking for another dryer...

@StarSong Eeek. We didn't live in Marin County for long, but I can tell you that the entire time I was in terror of The Big One. First chance I had to get the heck outta there, I was gone!

Hope your house and home didn't suffer any damage.
No damage. We didn't even feel it. Earthquakes are funny critters - barely noticeable effects to houses on one street, but heavy damage to near-identical homes two streets over.

I don't worry too much about EQs. We're fairly well prepared and our house has been bolted to the foundation, reinforced with shear walls, and all heavy furniture and wall pieces are firmly L-bracketed or lag-bolted to wall studs.

What changed, that you won't be moving?

I should have added that there's a mountain range between yesterday's quake epicenter and my house. As the crow flies it's only about 18 miles, but mountains tend to absorb seismic shock waves, often reverberating them back to from whence they came.

While a 4.7 quake will certainly get the attention of those near the epicenter, they're unlike to do much damage in areas where structures have been built according to EQ codes. As far as I know, no damage or injuries have been reported.

I've just been watching the Ring door bell videos, which are downloaded to my computer. These ones are from 2022... and it's the first time I've ever watched them back, and show me going out and coming home... and it's like watching a fashion show. Every time I go out I'm wearing something completely different.. It just never occurred to me that I was being recorded by the doorbell.. even tho' I knew it , but it just never registered with me

Only once in my life has anyone videoed me, that was 40 years ago... so I've never seen myself moving IYSWIM... so these videos are 30 or 45 seconds long of me walking down the path to the car or back home and in through the gate or the front door.... or even mowing the grass...

have to tell you, I'm a cool dresser..:D I didn't even realise I looked so good.. even if I say it myself...:D:p I look better in those motion filled videos than I do in a mirror that's for sure..:D

ETA when I say look Good..I mean from the back..lol.

Don't die. Maybe you have covid or flu? Any fever?
Yep, unfortunately, this turned out to be the Covid Cabin.

I'm on the mend but still dragging but the Spousal Equivalent is really sick and it's like taking care of a rabid wolverine. Nothing will please him.

When I'm sick, all I want to do is go to bed and be left alone.

LOL...you make me laugh ... all the Drama coming from me today....:ROFLMAO:

No..DD cannot stay, she has to work.. so I will be on my own recovering. yes I can have groceries delivered, but I won't because I'd still have to lift them into the house, and put them away.. so it's best I just ensure the cupboards and fridge and freezers are stocked up. I've not got to lift anything heavier than a bag of sugar for some weeks..

As of yet I have no plan about negotiating the stairs...

I have no idea about the plasterer , but I suspect he's fine because they were making light of it to me in their office.. but he is off sick

Nope no-one's been in touch about the flat. I've been expecting the info all this week, I was supposed to get the info after the owners returned from holiday on the 7th but nothing .. and so I mailed them myself this morning because Saturdays' almost upon us . no reply... 🤷‍♀️
We usually have the option of going to rehab for a time after surgery if there is nobody at home to help. The microwave comes in handy at this time. And maybe a walker.

we don't get that option of rehab , not unless we're so seriously ill we can't move if you see what I mean.

I have walking sticks ( canes ) if I need them to help me up from a sitting position to save using my abdominal muscles where possible.. and yes I do have a Microwave, and an Airfryer, thankfully...
