How is your day Today, plans and achievements 2024....

Monday was unpleasant but not from any growing disease. After the head binging weekend festival, groggy David woke up a bit too late to open windows/door to cool dawn air into my no air conditioning 2-story residence. My living room reached 81F by 6pm after only dropping to 74F at 8am. The last day of the delaying week long heat hit 3 digits again but Tuesday is forecast to just reach 86F. Now at midnight am letting 70F air inside.

Have a paid Youtube $3 subscription to Sabine Hossenfelder's quite entertaining science analysis Channel that had not yet bothered watching most of her 2024 videos of. So was watching those much of that Monday and will continue Tuesday.

Well, I was woken at 12:44 a.m. to the news that my 6:45 a.m. flight was canceled. I have a command invitation to the hurricane party instead.

Can't go back to sleep, so I remembered that I needed to take my fall wreath off the front door before it ended up in the middle of the Atlantic.

I take it down and go to the garage and try to find a place to put it because the garage is packed full of cars, motorcycle and everything that was outdoors yesterday.

Just as I raise the wreath to put it up on the cabinet, a lizard jumps out of the wreath and into the neck of my nightgown.

It's doing panicked laps around my body parts and I'm doing the famous (or infamous, depending on whether you're watching the dance and finding it amusing or if you're the one DOING the dance and finding it not.funny.at.all.now.get.this.thing.off.me!) Florida Lizard Dance.

Fortunately, lizard and I parted company, but I won't be going back to sleep anytime soon....
I know you are doing all you can to prep jujube. Do you fill the bathtub just in case?

At least it wasn’t one of those disgusting palmetto bugs (large cockroach)!!

Praying for y’all in FL

Good morning. It's a very cool 53F here and only expected to get to high 70s today. Maybe Drop is finally here. The 10-day forecast is for daytime 70s and nighttime 50s.

Somebody tell me why my eyes are all puffy this morning.

@CinnamonSugar The forecast this morning has removed all but far southeastern and coastal Georgia from the areas covered by the himmicane so it looks like you're safe this time. Yay for that!

I saw clips of the traffic from Tampa going north...OMG! One person who was interviewed (while sitting in stopped traffic) said that it took eight hours to get to the Georgia state line.

@jujube That lizard was probably as freaked out as you were🦎. Make sure everdamthang is charged up, that you have water and food that doesn't have to be cooked. Stay safe.

I dunno if there's much of anything on the agenda today or not. I do have five little dianthus plants to either put in a pot or in the ground. And some dishes to wash. And a lottery ticket to cash in because it's for $4.

@hollydolly Last night I dreamed that you were awarded the house in Spain in the divorce so you sold yours and moved there. You took your car with you, and you had a housekeeper.

DGD decided that since she's unable to work, she's going back to school online. The first time she enrolled, she dropped out at the Christmas holidays. The second time, she lasted about eight weeks. Both times, she was living in a dorm on campus. I don't remember if there was a third time. That was six years ago so maybe this time she's matured enough to stick with it and maybe online classes will make a difference.

Good morning folks.....it is cool at 42 deg F, wow....heater came
on just as I was arising..;..dunno what I'm up to today, but good
news, the dishes were washed, oh and the groc made a special
delivery of the caramels that were left out of the order, so now
you know my addiction LOL!!!!....Praying for those in path of
Milton.....:cry::cool:

@Georgiagranny ... well I hope your dream comes true.. but I very much doubt it....

However my dream was very much the opposite..I dreamt I lived in a rough area.. had a van, instead of a car, and every time I parked it the gyspies would steal it to use to go to parties.. and I would always have to hunt it down to get it back because the police were never interested.. :D

oh they are disgusting, they have them in Spain.. fortunately not at my house.. but I saw them at other people's houses, they make you sick just looking at them.

On one occasion a friend was having her whole house renovated, it was a holiday home so she asked me if I could keep an eye on the builders.. when I went there , the builder told me as he took the glass light shade off the bathroom ceiling a whole load of those huge flying cockroches came down on his head..:sick:

If you need new glass for a window where do you get it? It once was available at Home Depot and Ace Hardware but I don't think they cut it anymore.
We were able to get it cut at Ace Hardware. We have everything now, I think. It is really cool here this morning. I have to go to the doctor this morning, then come home and start putting it together. ( gutters too. )

Yabbut...housekeeper. You had a housekeeper.

On my early morning walk at 6:40,temp was 52, as I was wearing my yellow reflector vest over my jacket as I walked twice around the building complex
Today I've invited my minister, Todd for lunch, looking forward to it. Two other church staff members along with his wife Linda,I've invited for lunch over the summer. When we were deciding what day would be good for both of us I kiddingly said' its your turn now' he laughed .He has visited other church members who live here, but not for lunch This will be the highlight of my day
The rest of my day read NYT, my book take afternoon walk before dinner

This is the first time I've slept in a bed in a long time, but I was too tired to fix a pallet. The mattress is comfortable and I've always loved their pillows. There's 6 of them....enough to prop myself up, so I might sleep here each night.
What do you mean, fix a pallet? You don't typically sleep in a bed?

I always sign up to these shopping sites with a fake first and last name.. so whenever I get an email or text like this I know precisely where they got my details..
yes but it doesn't have to be the card belonging to the person who is ordering..anyone can pay for the goods..

EG..I am registered as Jane smith... and I pay using Holly Dolly's card...
I've gotta say, this is freaking brilliant, HD.

I have something I need to say but can't go into details right now, because I'm scared. I don't want to be accused of being vague, or whatever. That Telehealth conference my doctor requested last week? It did not go well. I haven't told my son as he was on vacation last week and I didn't want to spoil it for him.

My blood work indicated something possibly very dangerous. I can't say more, my mind is absorbing it and I must speak to my son. I'm supposed to make an appointment with a GI specialist (I had stage 3 colon cancer 20 years ago). Currently, I'm freezing up. I'm quietly panicking. I don't want to think about it or even make the appointment.

That's all I can say right now and perhaps I said too much.

Very sorry to hear this. Please make the appointment!

Thanks for the prayers! As for the palmetto bugs, I had one of those in my sleeve years ago....I'd rather face an alligator.

I seem to have a habit of critters in my clothes. Last time it was a tiny little frog. I don't know which one is worse.

I'll make every effort to stay close.

Talia (my calico) has a veterinarian appointment at 0930. Follow up on her inflammatory bowel disease diagnosis. I hate the thought. She has a new place to hide under the chair in the bedroom. I hope she goes there if I can't catch her off guard. If she goes behind the bed, I can get her but it's not easy. She's on to me when I want to get a hold of her.
