Wow ! I am so happy today !
I have mentioned before that i really enjoy coloring with the Pigment Coloring app on my iPad. I also follow Pigment on Facebook, and they had a challenge for a picture that you colored that was wintertime and cozy looking. So, I entered one of mine that had a cheery house with fireplace and nestled in the snow.
I just got a message from them that I won a whole years Premium membership for Pigment ! The year is usually around $50, so this is a great prize to win.
Each month they have some kind of contest that people can enter and win something, but most of them are not a whole year’s subscription free.
Here is the picture that I entered.

I completely agree with @hollydolly that country roads in England are somewhat less than excellent. I still remember driving in 1993 in Southwest England near Tintagel on two-way roads that looked to me like one-way roads. But at least the drivers were civilized. I wish I could say the same of Ireland that we visited in 2009. The roads were even narrower than in England. Oncoming cars pushed me off the roads, and twice I wrecked the tires of our rental car. The people are super friendly, but they become maniacs when driving a car.

Our camper near Tintagel (King Arthur's supposed birthplace) that we had rented in Germany and took on a ferry boat across the British Channel.

Our SoCal temperatures are pleasant, but at our house I measured the last rain on April 14. I guess we have another drought year shaping up.

After a non-stop flight from Hong Kong, our older daughter landed at sunset in Los Angeles to spend her Christmas vacations with us. She is staying with the family of my younger daughter because my wife caught Covid. I never contacted Covid; in 2 weeks I'll get my 8th updated Covid shot.

Congratulations!
A well deserved win.

I was reluctant to go out today, it was so grey and miserable looking. But, I wrote a list, wrapped up and off I went. Actually, it wasn't that cold and although it was busy, I managed to get everything I wanted and home again before it got dark.

By the end of the week, presents should be wrapped and shopping done! No doubt the shops will be crowded at the weekend so, it will be good to avoid that.

Tomorrow I am meeting some friends for lunch and I have today received a text saying we should all wear Christmas jumpers! No way! I have bought a pair of Christmas earrings instead. 🎄

Took an Uber to my Primary Care Physician's office. I always look forward to our visits. We discussed my lab work and alternate diabetes medications. My son got off early enough to pick me up again today.

When we got home I went down to the office to speak with the managing agent about arranging for a plumber to replace my faucet, which is leaking onto the cabinet below. After I got in and changed my clothes I ate a half a tuna sandwich while watching GMA and fell asleep. I woke up around 10:30 p.m. and realized the plumber had called and texted. I texted him back to acknowledge and will speak with him in the morning.

11.15am...blue skies.. and howling wind... 💨

Nothing planned for today, but I might go later and se if i can get my tyres inflated...theres no air pump in this town at the one and only garage ... so I have to go 2 towns away to the nearest one.. I have a tyre inflater in my car but I can't use it because my cigarette lighter no longer works...

.. so it all depends how I feel later...

I mentioned we didn't put up a tree on his year. We did buy a little live tree at Lowe's. It's very pretty!
The salesperson marked it down half price for us on the spot. I think that's because we went back and forth on getting it so many times. 😊 She probably thought, "Geez, buy the tree already!" We also bought a big poinsettia. It is bright red with speckles
of cream color. Very nice, I never saw one like it.
So, we do have a tree. I will wrap everything today or tomorrow which will be mostly putting them in bags with tissue paper.
I'm not one for spur of the moment change in plans, when it involves me hosting, but I guess I can step up if needed.
After yesterday's yard work I slept a good TEN hours with one bathroom trip!
A week ago there were rumblings of snow here in NC on Christmas but no, it's changed to just cold.

I did not want to get out of my warm nest this morning. No!
It is cold. I closed the bedroom windows at midnight. A nice neighbor brought us a Whitetail backstrap. It will turn into goulash for Christmas Day. Today so I can clean the stove. SO had a successfull conversation with AT&T and internet was reduced:>) If I like it or not - kitchen cabinets need to be cleaned. I will start on the island cabinets and while I am crawling around some things will go to the "rehome" box.

Dont you find Deer to have to much of a gamey taste ? It's the reaon I don't like ostrich or Kangaroo... very high in protein and fat which is good... but too gamey for me which makes it slightly bitter

Not if you prepare it right and as with everything practice is the key. Not to mention a chef grandfather who came to the rescue when I got stuck. Aside from the occasional chicken we covered our meat need with what we harvested for several years. We used our game tags up in Georgia/Alabama.

Yesterday, I made another loaf of bread using AP flour instead of bread flour. I froze the remaining first loaf.

Breakfast today was a mortadella sandwich with the new loaf. Delicious.

Cold but sunny today, No specific plans but to wish you all a fine day!
