Merry Christmas Eve, Hanukkah Eve, and Kwanzaa Eve-Eve!
I woke up at 5:30 AM and started to roll over to try to grab another 30-60 minutes but decided to forgo that extra sleep so I could spend some guilt-free time with you, dear SF friends.
We're expecting roughly 20 people this evening, so there's cooking, organizing and last minute cleaning ahead today. Higgins (Roomba) is scheduled to start working his magic in a few minutes. You've all heard me (and
@Georgiagranny) moan about hating dusting - well contrary to my usual procrastinating nature, I dusted the entire house yesterday, so that's off my list! Yay!!! (Aren't you proud of me, GG?) Also, all presents (including grab-bags) are wrapped and I wrote out the checks for our kids and grands - and even wrote out the cards. Double Yay!!!
For tonight's dinner, I have only a dozen fancy dishes, so DD will bring some of hers. Two different types and patterns, but there's simply no way I'd be ok with serving Christmas Eve dinner on paper plates. Perish the thought! Also, my mother would come back to haunt me if she spied that transgression from up above. (On second thought, it would sure be nice to see her again...

)
Happy news: DH has definitely turned the corner. Based on his symptoms, he had the flu rather than a cold, but a relatively light case, which we attribute to the vaccine we had a month or two ago.
So far, I've completely dodged it or have symptoms mild enough to not be noticeable. (The vaccine lowers the risk of gettng the flu by 40%-60%, and reduces the severity if you do get it.)
Higgins has started and my second cup of coffee is nearly empty, so it's time for me to get a jump on my to-do list. I'll be back when it's time for a break.
Happy day to all!!!
