I just had a hot bowl of split pea and ham soup...have enough for couple feasts...this soup was ny husband's favorite ..and bittersweet when I make itWe need to make a pot and use up the bones too. Have 3 now... But ours takes some time...
1st need to make more veggie and bone broth.
Soak 2 bags of peas, (yes 2... we make a batch) then pressure cook them with the ham bone and spices.
Then into the BIG pot with ham more broth carrots potatoes herbs and spices to slow cook a few hours.
Eating depends on the plans for leftovers, Can or Freeze. If canning will have the jars ready, pack and start pressure canning.
If freezing will eat and once cool go into containers then Vac-u-seal after a day or so.
