If reincarnation really exists

What is reincarnation? A cowboy asks his friend.

It starts, his old pal told him, when your life comes to an end.

They wash your neck and comb your hair and clean your fingernails,
And put you in a padded box away from life's travails.

The box and you go in a hole that's been dug in the ground.
Reincarnation starts in when you're planted 'neath that mound.

Them clods melt down, just like the box, and you who is inside.
And that's when you begin your transformation ride.

And in a while the grass will grow upon your rendered mound,
Until some day, upon that spot, a lonely flower is found.

And then a horse may wander by and graze upon that flower
That once was you, and now has become your vegetated bower.

Now, the flower that the horse done eat, along with his other feed,
Makes bone and fat and muscle essential to the steed.

But there's a part that he can't use and so it passes through.
And there it lies upon the ground, this thing that once was you.

And if perchance, I should pass by and see this on the ground,
I'll stop awhile and ponder at this object that I've found.

I'll think about Reincarnation and life and death and such,
And come away concludin', why, you ain't changed all that much.

Reincarnation? I never gave it much thought, but since you asked, I know what will happen after my life has ended here on earth, but if reincarnation would happen, I have a few ideas of what I would like to come back as.
I would like to be:

One of Jesus’ apostles
Doc Holliday
Henry Ford
Wilbur Wright
Albert Einstein
JFK
JFK, Jr.

Any one of those would suit.

No thanks, wouldn't want to come back. I have had, not an easy life, but lovely life and am thankful for my family and friends.
I'm afraid watching what is happening in the world today is so sad. Looking at all the people suffering as bombs are aimed
at their counties. Little children suffering and confused whilst billionaires are living the good life when they should be helping.
What has happened to mankind.?

I think we've all lived before and will continue our journey in the direction of the divine.
What is the end of our journey? I don't know....but a Buddhist nun once advised me to not bring suffering to any living beings and to try and be helpful. Loving kindness and acquiring knowledge are meant to be essential qualities to embrace on our journey, so she said.
I think it's good counsel.

Would you want to be reborn, and if so what as...or who ?...

I would not want to come back..I think I've lived 7 lifetimes in this one... and paid all dues for any past life crimes...

What about now ?.. do you think you're living a reincarnated life?.. do you have any evidence which makes you think that ?

I have a flat birthmark on my back... .. it's said by regressionists that people are born with the mark/scar on their body that killed them in a last life.. Do you have one ?

Being born again would only be a good thing if I had an awareness of my previous life, and the mistakes I made. Otherwise I don't know what the point would be.

Since I have no memories of a previous life, I conclude there is no such thing as reincarnation.

If I DID come back, then being born into money and influence is definitely the way to go. If I were born into LESS than I got this time around it would be hell.

Am awake temporarily now at 3:45am PDT in order to continue running a hard drive backup on my desktop that requires hours. This person that has not studied much philosophy, rejects reincarnation as described.

Reincarnation - Wikipedia

Reincarnation, also known as rebirth or transmigration, is the philosophical or religious concept that the non-physical essence of a living being begins a new lifespan in a different physical form or body after biological death. In most beliefs involving reincarnation, the soul of a human being is immortal and does not disperse after the physical body has perished. Upon death, the soul merely transmigrates into a newborn baby or into an animal to continue its immortality.

YaHoo AI:

Lack of empirical evidence: Scientific methods rely on observable and testable phenomena, which reincarnation does not provide.
Biological basis of consciousness: Current understanding suggests consciousness arises from brain activity, not from a separate, transferable soul.
Psychological explanations: Many experiences attributed to past lives can be explained by memory errors, imagination, or cultural influences.
No reproducibility: Scientific claims must be replicable under controlled conditions, which reincarnation claims fail to meet.
Evolutionary perspective: The theory of evolution provides a framework for understanding life and consciousness without the need for reincarnation.
Cultural and religious bias: Reincarnation is often rooted in specific cultural beliefs, which science does not endorse or validate.

Reincarnation ideas of ancient mystics may have been born from information passed down from UIE visitors because such is not too different from the below and one would expect whatever due to oral history has evolved away from science accuracy. And yes, David777 greatly wants to live forever even if that is just here on planet Earth that I find immensely fascinating with its precious life.

I do lean towards the possibility of life after death and have long been seeking that end. My own leanings look towards the possibility that ancient Ultimate Intelligent Entities, UIE, given immense time in the current universe and possibly the eternal past, would have had enormous reason to develop a way to defeat death of organic beings on worlds in the universe, so may have done so. Looking at the Christian Bible, New Testament, shows Jesus clearly offered that eternal life.

From a physics perspective, that might involve the transfer of the electromagnetic fields within neural system containers, that interestingly is exactly what Jesus related as "special water" and is supported by further scriptures is all 3 synoptic gospels in the Transfiguration that shows Abraham and Moses actually still exist. Matthew 22:32:

God said, "I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.' So they were not still dead, because he is the God only of living people."

For those that believe a god can do anything that I disagree with, god would not need to do so. He could just do it. Jesus related a body MUST die before being reborn into spirit life that would indeed be necessary if electromagnetic fields were recreated within a new impedance matching container.

Based on knowledge of how an egg is fertilized, I would be curious to know how a soul gets into the Hoo-ha.
I would also be curious to know how we went from a few thousand humans on planet earth to 8 billion. Where did the other souls come from?

If reincarnation does exist, I think I may want to come back as a seagull. They walk on the beach every day, and wait for the ocean to serve them fresh seafood for free. If I got a craving for french fries, I could just fly over to a local outdoor cafe and pretend I'm hungry.

the seagulls fly down and snatch the food right out of people's hands here...they're a real pest....

and all because we really don't know who we really should be - what a true calling should be here on this planet - and what was the purpose of it all anyway - fairy tale times!

In some Christian groups, there is "limbo", where the souls of "innocents" go.....unbaptized infants, those who were good people, but who lived before the start of Christianity or "heathens" who were never offered the chance to accept Christianity.

Not to be mistaken with "purgatory", where souls go who weren't good enough to get into heaven immediately but not bad enough to go directly to hell. There's a chance to get out of purgatory with a couple of thousand years of repentance or if your family prays enough for your redemption. On the other hand, I would guess if your efforts weren't enough, you could always get shipped off to hell. In the old days, one could buy "indulgences" from the church to ensure you wouldn't have to spend the whole time in Purgatory.

I've never really understood what is meant by "reborn." Every baby that is born is a new human being. Is there some eternally lasting spirit that keeps coming back? I don't think so.

We get only one shot (chance) per person, and anything else is just fairy tales. So we should make the most of the one shot we have. No mulligans.
