"They've" been talking about GLOBAL WARMING for the last several years. Maybe "they" know something
that we don't know.

I read the unusual heat and drought in the British Isles has parched the land
so much that long covered over signs of ancient buildings, walls and gardens
can now be seen from the air. Sweden is also having 90+ temperatures, even
above the Arctic Circle where the heat has caused fires. All of Northern Europe,
including Northwestern Russia, is having a heatwave.
After 110 here in Dallas, the weatherman here said help is on the way in the
form of a weak cold front that will bring us back down to the high 90s.
90s is our summer average high.
.
The whole of the UK has turned brown, no green grass
anywhere.
There was some rain a couple of day ago, but it was
in the North West and traveled South East, but stopped
before it reached us.
Next week is more of the same.
Mike.
Our last heat wave killed 70 people alone in the province of Quebec.
I do what most of us do STAY IN AIR CONDITIONED LOCATIONS!!
BTW Mike..my lawns aren't ''brown''...I put the sprinkler on every night... and my hedges and shrubs are looking fine and healthy... but I know what you mean many gardens and park spaces are straw coloured now...
Really hot here..not as hot as 3 figures like you all..but over 90 degrees, and getting hotter every day, apart from a couple of hours rain we've had nothing in over 6 weeks but Hot heat. that's great but we have no AC here and neither does most of the shops and stores, we're just not prepared for this type of heat! It's very difficult to sleep, I only have ceiling fans...

ETA..I take that back about the 3 figures...a weather warning has just been issued for this area, of 103 degrees... did I mention we have no AC.. ?:yuk:
Never shoveled any here in Houston either but the ground has been covered with a light dusting and kids in the neighborhood tried their best to squeeze enough together to make some sort of snowman. It was pretty coming down and of course gone before lunch. That's all I want to see, if that much here. We have had a couple of ice storms that have knocked the power out for a few hours. Again beautiful to see everything coated but glad to get power back on and the ice melted.I was born & raised in a Chicago suburb and moved to Houston in 1980 and in 38 years I don't recall ever shoveling a single flake of snow. So let it burn baby burn.
