June Is Black Music Appreciation Month. Post Your Favorites

I liked the funny songs that were on the radio back in the day.

Here's another, what was called novelty tune. It's funny and clever how they fit in the names of cigarette and alcohol brands from back in the day. Even his voice cracks me up. The Spaniels were known for their ballads as well.

When I was a kid, my parents hired a very fat black woman to be the governess for my brother and me. We were sung to sleep every night with the best black music sung by our governess. Her first name was "Minnie." Her son became a fighter pilot in the US air force in the only all black squadron. He fought in WW 2 and became a fighter ace.

Just waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many Artists to mention however I just listened to "The Man I Love" by Billie Holiday. What an extreme class act. I will always appreciate the Masters of Music for the rest of my life. Sorry, I don't know how to link a music tune like most of the above. I sure would if I could.
